You can totally trust Scheler and his collaborators, everything went better than expected on our Pastoruri Glaciar tour. We booked one day before without any problems. The tour took all day long and the guide explained almost everything about the Huascaran National Park in Spanish and in English. I recommend!

I went alone to Huaraz twice and both I've made my tours with Scheler Artizon Tours. I went to Glacier Pastoruri, Lake Paron e Lake 69. His agency is the mostly recommended by Mochileiros.com (a brazilians backpackers group) and has the best service of accommodation and mountain guides.
I recommend with my eyes closed.

My girlfriend and I really wanted to visit Laguna 69 to see how incredible the water and the views were after seeing so many pictures of it!

The challenge came in booking a trustworthy tour company especially since we were arriving at 6:00am off of the bus after many tours had already left. I must have messaged 10-15 companies, it was so hard to decide! After reading reviews and messaging through WhatsApp with Scheler, I knew he was the one and was my gut ever right!

We booked a private tour with him and made special arrangements! From start to finish, the service and attention he gave us was amazing! About halfway up, we really started struggling with the altitude! Scheler was there to support us and and encourage us the whole time! It took us 4 hours to get up to the top, an extra hour than expected. He never rushed us and stayed patient while we enjoyed the views & struggled with the altitude!

At the top was where it was incredible! He came through with the special arrangements! He had one of his porters waiting there for us, with a table setup with amazing views of the lake, cooking us a delicious lunch of chicken and rice! He brought the roses I requested and even brought us wine for a celebratory toast! Oh and since we arrived late to the lake, halfway through lunch all the tourists were gone! We had the whole lake to ourselves! The views and the color of the water were incredible!!

I was worried on the way back down since we had no energy from the altitude but the food gave us a boost of energy and he stayed next to us the entire way down!

Two recommendations: 1. Take altitude pills, chlorophyll drops in your water for energy, and spend a day before the hike to be acclimated to the altitude! I did this for the Rainbow Mountains and Inca Trail hike back in August. This time my ego took over and I thought I didn’t need anything! I was wrong lol.

2. I highly recommend taking a tour with Scheler! He took great care of us from beginning to end and went out of his way and exceeded my expectations with my special requests!

Oh and did I mention he is one the the first tour guides I’ve ever had who knows how to take a good picture for you!!

So stop reading more reviews and being stuck in analysis paralysis and just book with Scheler!! You won’t regret it!

The attention that Scheler gave us, communicating through Whatsapp, picking up at our hostel and teaching us everything necessary for we to make it to the top of the hike was simply amazing. I definitely recommend this agency

This trip it was my dream, i was looking for a agency to book mine. After a long research and read a lot of comments about Scheler Artizon I decided my choice. We started our conversations 8 months earlier than the trip. Scheler gave me all infos needed, help me with everything. When i arrived in Huaraz i had all details about the trekking. The cautions, after this we started the acclimatization. 3 days, during the 10 days trek, the guide Blad and their staff was incredible. They keep us safe all the time. During the hill up to Diablo Mudo we receive all orientation and the guide other time makes the difference. The best choice to Huayhuash must have be with them.

Contacted Scheler one month before my trip and he helped me with all the tours planning in Huaraz. Two days before my trip, I contacted him again to confirm the tours however, he seemed to have a problem the day before and I was about to be forgotten on my first day. He was quick enough to have another company picking me up. He was very gentle and contacted me everyday to know about the tours I've had and also plan the next day. Though I did not meet him personally, he was very present throughout my stay.

After much research we decided we didn't want to go with the cheapest agencies, reading reviews we heard about poor equipment, guides that don't actually guide, over crowded groups and more.

For about $20 more (split over 4 days that's nothing) we went with Scheler Artizon and were extremely happy.

Everything was well organised and even down to his briefing before we booked it, you could tell it was a professional company. We had a group size of 10 which was perfect.

The food was better than we expected, unlimited tea, coffee, coca. Tents, sleeping bags and mats were good quality, with sleeping bags rated to -12. Everything was included, even a dining tent (necessary!) and toilet tent.

The porters, guide and cook were professional and very friendly. The guides English wasn't perfect but more than enough to explain what he needed to explain. The donkeys all seemed healthy and not overly burdened (very important to us). Roaming free in the evenings meaning the porters had to catch them in the mornings.

I highly recommend this company.

I met Scheler by some friends indication.
He was really thoughtful and pacient with me. I made a thousand of questions to him at Facebook.
Whe I get to Huaraz, he went get me at Bus Station and took me to Casablanca Hotel.
At the trekkings, I had the awesome guides, with a really nice bus taking us from Huaraz to Park Huascarán.
Someday I will return to Huaraz, and I will surelly use Scheler services again.

We had a very bad feeling recording the security of the treck this agency is proposing. We ask few times about insurance because it is needed when you go into hiking and trecking above 5000 metre. This agency doesn't know what is an insurance and don't mnd to send people without insurance in mountaineering.

Good morning Jessica, thank you for your comments, despite not knowing them, I do not know who you are and what experience you have with us, to mention that we do not know about an insurance or mountain rescue, many times we had to do the evacuation ourselves take the customer, because unfortunately there are no mountain insurance in Peru. I see this comment after many years and I give myself the time to answer you, so that it does not remain empty, our null experience in mountain insurance, your comment is incoherent with respect to our experience in the mountains, because they did not live a service experience Ours and you did not do mountaineering with the agency they hired, they did bus tours, where the activity is not done more than 5000 meters which is the limit that ends your tours. Have an excellent mountain experience where they are. Greetings from Huaraz Scheler Artizon Trek EIRL
