My wife and I chose the 8 day trek because we only had 2 weeks of vacation time.
Our point of communication was Christian. He was well organized and we were well briefed ahead of our trek in terms of plans and itinerary (both email and thru watsapp)
The payment and discussion on tipping were transparent and straight forward
We really enjoyed our experience on the trek.
Our guide's name was Diogenes - he was friendly but also gave us realistic expectation about each days exertion and advised us on how to change our itinerary (cutting out certain portion), to make sure we still have a fun time and not get carried out on horse back or being forced to get off the trek due to health emergencies.
The tents were setup already everyday by the time we get to camp and were greeted with hot water and afternoon snack.
We also enjoyed our camp meals prepared by our chef Luis and pachamanca meal (instead of Cuy) at the end.
The only food item that was tough to eat on the trek was the dried ham, it was a bit too salty.
We would love to come back and do different hike with Go2Andes.

I booked a 12 day Huayhuash trek with Go2Andes based on the positive reviews given here, but I was still a little nervous about doing so. I need not have been. Christian is extremely efficient and responds quickly to emails and questions you may have. The trek itself also lived up to expectations. Our guide Francisco was knowledgeable and helpful. Food was amazing and everything worked well. The Huayhuash itself is stunningly beautiful with amazing views in every direction. It is perhaps not as quiet as it used to be, particularly during peak season when some of the campsites were quite busy with some large groups. Once out trekking however the crowds disappear and you only see other people at the popular view points. If you enjoy the outdoors then this trek is a must and the 8 or 10 day version would be equally enjoyable. Thank you Go2Andes.

We just finished a 5-day tour in Huayhuash, organized by Go2Andes: Llamac - mirador de las tres lagunas, and back. This was simply outstanding. We were amazed above and beyond our expectations (which were pretty high since this was a long time dream).
First, the tour itself. We were blessed with a near perfect weather (1 overcast day out of 5), we walked in the most beautiful landscape (valley, passes, high peaks, glaciers and colorful lakes). We particularly fall in love with Carhuacocha, where we experienced superb sunrises, sunsets, desayunos and diner (and even a swim; fresh, admittedly). For those interested: it was local winter: dry and clear, warm to hot during the day (mainly perfect for walking) and fresh early in the morning (requires good equipment but nothing too hard-core). Certainly one of the most beautiful place on earth: if such concept exists, here, it's deserved.
Then the organization of the tour. Here again, mind blown. Christian was super patient and helpful to help us design exactly the tour we wanted, within our constraints and preferences. William the guide delivered the most personalized guidance possible: Flexible, patient, savvy, helpful, always in a good mood - even when we beat the record of the slowest ascent of the mirador de las 3 lagunas (...). He also caught trouts for the diner and gave us some great hints for photos. Denise the cook (a better appellation would be the Chef) turned a trek into a gastronomical tour - still amazed by the variety and quality of what she can cook in such context. El Unico the donkey driver completed the team with a quiet and superhuman strength, finding the best spot to pitch the tent (an important part of the whole experience, especially in popular places). Thanks a lot team, this was more than a mountain trek, it was a human adventure.
We cannot say thank you enough to Go2Andes for this trek. We just regret that we did not have more time to see more of this sublime Huayhuash cordillera.

My wife and I have done several treks and this was hands down the best experience and guide. Christian (the owner) responds quickly in WhatsApp and organized the trip we wanted. What sets this company apart is the attention to detail and knowledge of the mountains. I inquired from several companies in the area about pricing and Go2Andes was more on the expensive side but it was worth every penny (we asked Christian why it was more and loved his response-because they take care of their employees with fair wages and limit the weight carried by donkeys). On the first day we went to his parents house in Llamoc where his mom cooked us breakfast. A truly local experience.
Our mountain guide Willy was phenomenal. He loved being in the mountains as much as we did, he was patient with my wife during the more technical parts and had vast knowledge of the mountains. We enjoyed hearing his trekking stories over dinner.
Unfortunately our trip was cut short due to my wife getting altitude sickness (even though we did acclimatization hikes, she was on diamox, and drank coca tea). The way Christian and Willy figured out the logistics to get her to a local clinic and descend quickly was impressive. You can’t go wrong booking with these guys, they are top notch.

We hiked the Cordillera Huayhash with ‘Willy’ as our guide. We were highly impressed with both the organisational professionalism of Go2Andes to begin with, and Willy was a superb guide; the entire experience left very little room for improvement. We’ll be back!

Together with my friend, we did 2 day tours and the 4 days Huayhuash trek - all private. First we went to Glacier Pastoruri which was amazing and the second day we woke up very early to go to Laguna 69, but because we had a private tour, we were able to see an extra lake which is what we had waken up very early for. Had a beautiful breakfast spot at sunrise with mountain peaks above 6000m all around us. The day after, we started our 4 day hike trip, and because we had already spent 2 days with our guide Willy before this, he knew we really liked Avocados. So at the start of the trek our chef Marco carried many avocados with him, just because we liked them a lot. All the food, people, warm water in the morning to wash your face etc was very nice. They all really wanted me and my friend to have a great time which is what we for sure had :) Highly recommend Go2Andes!! Our trekking guide, chef and donkey driver were so nice! You will feel very safe with them + all the views during the 6 days were amazing!

On August 08-18th 2024 I had the great fortune to sign up for the Cordillera Huayhuash circuit, classic trek and what a marvelous adventure it turned out to be!
in making contact with operator Cristian Alvarado I found the most helpful individual in all areas related to this experience. Cristian was helpful, patient and fully qualified to answer any questions I had prior to booking.
Once in the field i found the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help in any way possible to ensure the clients had the best experience possible during the 12 days the experienced lasted. Guide and helper, Cook and helper, mullers and helpers they seem to enjoy the experience as much as the guests. We could here the staff having a good time during work and anywhere on site.
The beauty of the mountains is totally magnificent and everyday we had more beauty to enjoy and to inspire us. There is nothing that is more likely to lift your spirits than the big majestic mountain views as you approach a new pass and new views.
I fully recommend go2andes as a company to book with as they seem to take care of every detail to ensure their customers have the best time possible.

We did a 10-day Huayhuash Circuit through Go2Andes and from the start to end, they took care of us and ensured we had an amazing experience. Christian met up with us prior to the trek to go over the details, set expectations, gauge our abilities as hikers to ensure we had appropriate gear and would have safe/fun trip. From acclimation hikes to the summit day, Christian, Wilfredo (our guide), Denise (cook) were very accommodating to our different needs and requests. I am a vegetarian, and Denise was an amazing cook who provided ample variety of options, and hardly any meal/snack was same as the one before. Wilfredo was a very experienced, patient, and knowledgeable hiker who was quick to adapt to unpredictable weather/terrain, and was a great motivating force when the day or hikes got tougher. He also knew a lot about local cultures, history, various plants/fruits, and helped practice my broken Spanish. Overall, I can't imagine having a better experience when so many things could have gone wrong, and highly recommend them.

Trekking in the Huayhuash mountains over 11 days as a private tour with the Go2Andes team was a once in a lifetime experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better overall hiking experience in the Andes to celebrate our 50th birthday. Willy, Marco and ErBar were the perfect hiking team, thanks to Christian for coordinating the best team ever. They created an hiking experience that fit best to our abilities, always finding the most exclusive camp spots, treated us like family, generous, happy and supportive throughout the entire trip. Highly recommending Go2Andes team to visit this region…amazing! Jeremy and Kristy

Four of us aged 60 (1) and 72 (3) did the Santa Cruz (4 days) and Huayhuash treks (13 relaxed days) with Go2Andes (Dio, our guide; Louis, our chef; and Alex, assistant + horse handler; and 2 very friendly arrieros). Within a couple of days, we were all like family, with lots of laughs from start to finish. Great food and great support was provided by the team. I can't recommend them highly enough. They clearly know how to adapt to the needs of different groups... and we were certainly different, with a need to take our time, an interest in photography and taking our time to appreciate the magnificent landscapes and nature all around us. Not for us large groups "frog-marching" along. Dio showed amazing patience and gave us some options for adjusting the days slightly. Thank you so much for making these treks special. If this is your style, you won't be disappointed with Go2Andes. Christian, the owner and our contact in organizing the treks covered every detail.

My fiancé and I are looking to do the Cordillera Huayhuash 10 day trek in June 2019. We are looking for another person to make this trek possible

I went with Go2Andes in July this year 2018 ,
and I can recommend them, informative guides excellent food and great service, Huayhuash a hard trip and don't cut corners with some other cheaper company.
If I hear of someone who wants to go next year I'll let you know on this forum.
