Travelled with Go2Andes for 10 days in the Cordillera Huayhuash in autumn 2019. Absolutely great and professional team, small group (just four guests), excellent cook. Can highly recommend, actually made account just to give props to them. Outstanding team work when dealing with a medical emergency (guest had undiagnosed prior condition). There might be cheaper guides out there, but these guys have your back when things don't go to plan.

10 days of trekking through the Andes is an incredible experience, made even more enjoyable with the hospitality and knowledge that the Go2Andes team shares. I really appreciated that the company is a family business. Our guide, Umberto, is very knowledgeable of the area, and made an effort to ensure everyone was comfortable with the hiking pace and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the amazing views. Arriving into camp each day, the tents would be set up, and tea with snacks would be ready for us. The food was also amazing! We had plenty of quality food made by the chef, and fresh fish was even caught from the nearby lakes for dinner. On top of this, we were provided with water, juice and snacks for the hike each day. This was definitely a highlight of my trip through South America!

In July of 2019 we used Go2Andes for a ten day, nine night trek around the Huayhuash circuit of 130 kms. My husband had done a lot of research on hiking the Andes and not only was this hike one that came up frequently as incredible, and it truly is, but Go2Andes was highly recommended by so many reviewers. I cannot say enough positive things about this company. First of all, if you believe that tourism dollars should stay in a particular country and support the local economy, then this is the one to choose. The owner Christian and his family are from Llamac, a town actually on the Huayhuash circuit. Christian works out of Huaraz and runs an extremely proficient company. He employs local people as guides, cooks, burro handlers and drivers. Right from the get go, before we committed to the trek, he was quick to respond to our many email questions and he was helpful in planning the details of our our trek and beyond. As we were on a tight time table, he organized a mini bus all the way back to Lima after our last day of hiking. There was not a detail that he couldn't work out. They provide you with great equipment lists of things to bring and actually go over your equipment once you arrive to make sure you have adequate gear! If you are missing something, there are good outdoor equipment stores in Huaraz where you can pick up what you need. It was obvious that Go2Andes cares about it's staff and the animals they employ. We saw other companies who didn't feed their burro drivers enough (and the drivers ended up abandoning their group) or companies using lame animals. Our staff: guides Humberto and Jilver, cook Amancio, and burro handlers Mario and Johnny were all incredibly professional. Our guides Humberto and Jilver were fabulous, having intimate knowledge of the route and all it’s variations, knowledge of the wildlife (including incredible spotting abilities!), and knowledge of the culture and politics of the region. They were kind and fun to be with all day long and we consider them friends :) Our cook Amancio, provided three amazing meals each day, never repeating any, as well as snacks and teatime foods. You will not go hungry with this company. Each day we were provided with hot water for washing, both in the morning, and at the end of the day's hike. Amancio even filled my Nalgene water bottle with hot water to help keep me toasty through the cold night! Our burro drivers Mario and Johnny were so hard working, diligent, friendly and mindful of their animals care. All five Go2Andes staff worked so hard to provide for our every need and to look out for our well being. My husband had a chest cold for a good part of the hike (which I later got too) and these guys took tremendous care of us. They were very attuned to our health and abilities (we are all 54+) and always set a pace that was manageable given the altitude and distance we walked each day. Go Team Tortuga!! On our last day, Christian's family in Llamac provided us with a traditional Pachamama feast. The meal was delicious (who knew there were so many varieties of potatos) and involved everyone in Christian's family as well as the families of the staff on our trip. Everyone was so very friendly. A special thanks to Denise, Christian's sister, who is also involved in the company logistics. The hike IS spectacular. You can read a lot about this trek and see photos from travelers who have done it, but seeing is believing, and it is even better than any photo can capture. If you want a professional, local owned company that goes above and beyond in service, then you should choose Go2Andes. You will not be disappointed.

We just returned from a wonderful 10 day hike of the Cordillera Huayhuash with Go2Andes. The logistics, and operations were seamlessly executed from start to end in a very personalized, attentive manner. Humberto, our guide, is so passionate and proud of his profession, and his culture. Go 2 Andes is a Peruvian family-run company that employ local and exceptionally skilled individuals. We finished our adventure witnessing the outstanding beauty of the Huayhuash, as well as, experiencing and gaining an authentic insight into its mountain culture. Thank you Christian, Humberto, Hilver, Johnny, Mario and amazing chef Emancion, the burrows and horses for a life changing adventure.

Hands down Go2Andes is the best company trekking company in Peru!!! Having done quite a bit of research prior to our trip I was a bit nervous about our adventures awaiting in Huayhaush... altitude sickness, stomach issues, cold camping temps to name a few. Reviews from many other travelers all claimed the above was just normal issues everyone must deal with if choosing to trek in Huayhuash. Based on the excellent reviews for Go2Andes we decided to book with them. We were not disappointed, they were simply amazing. (the 5 star rating is legit... don't risk your travel time in this beautiful landscape by booking with another company to save a few dollars. Bottom line what are you really saving if you are feeling sick for any part of your travels?) This is a family run business which prides themselves in their services and your well being. Christian is very responsive in pre planning communications. When arriving in Huaraz he sat down with us and reviewed the schedule and expectations. He checked our gear to ensure safe trekking (and even escorted us into town so I could purchase sleeping bag liner since I was a little hesitant about the dipping temps). The morning of our departure Go2Andes was very prompt and professional. We were picked up in a comfortable travel van and welcomed by our trekking crew. The trekking crew was amazing. Our guide Willy was excellent. He was always checking on how we were doing physically and in regards to the altitude. He took time and educated us about the land, animals, and culture during our hikes and meal times. The food was amazing!!! Never were we hungry. Breakfast, snacks, lunch (always on the best views of the terrain), tea time, and dinner. The food was plentiful and delicious. It was some much fun to eat like a Pervian. By the time we returned to Huaraz we felt very informed on local food and traditions, definitely a perk. Did I mention we even had guinea pig at the cook's personal residence as our celebration dinner in LLmac at the end of our trek. Daily treks were personalized to our abilities and interests (I was traveling with 2 photographers so epic views, heights, sunsets and sunrises were on the top of our requests). At the start of each day, Willy would wake us with a cheery good morning and offering of a fresh warm face towel and coffee or tea of choice. After each day of long hours of trekking Willy would always assist with a fresh tub of warm water so we could freshen up. (it is amazing how great a freshly washed face and foot soak can make a weary trekkier feel rejuvenated). Go2Andes is the company to go with. Don't look any further. They take care of you like family and at the end of your time with them you will feel that they are your family!
