We spent a delightful morning with Tita, an engaging personality with a deep family history of passionate gastronomists ranging from Italy to Peru. Starting with the San Pedros market with a history of the variety of food products offered at the market…. followed by driving above Cusco city limits to the Tree House Laboratory of Gastronomy to prepare and enjoy... My mom and I did this cooking class by ourselves when we were visiting Machu Picchu. The chef/bartender taught us how to make Pisco sours, which was great. The food part was mostly already cooked, we just put it all together. I've made the pisco sours again, but not any of the food because I still don't know how it's... More

It's a bit confusing, but as best we've been able to figure, the Tree House Restaurant and associated Cooking Lessons are somehow affiliated with the Rupa Wasi Lodge ( http://www.rupawasi.net/ingles/index.html) However if you click on Tree House Restaurant Tab, you get directed to some random page that appears to be in Japanese (as of August 2015). Regardless, Cooking Lessons at... More

We had a great time cooking, drinking and walking around the markets in Cuzco. It was a different side of peru that we are so happy we didn't miss. The tree house kitchen was beautiful and the food was delicious! Definitely recommend.

Due to fortuitous circumstances I was in Aguas Calientes twice in 3 months. On my first visit I took the cooking class at Tree House and had a great time - as did my friends when I recreated the meal at home. When I found out I would be there again I contacted them and asked if I could do... More

I attended a cooking class in August 2014 with 3 friends. We visited the local markets to get produce and then went back to the kitchen to cook a three course meal. Before we started we made an amazing Pisco Sour! The food we cooked used local ingredients and were based on traditional Peruvian food. They dishes were amazing. All... More

After learning about all of the different kinds of potatoes grown in Peru at different elevations, and seeing the last of the quinoa stalks in the fields with a random velvet flower coloring the landscape, it was splendid to be able to cook with these ingredients adorning them with Peruvian spices and salt. The cooking class brought the tourist experience... More

Unlike many cooking classes where you simply watch a cook make food, Oscar (our host) went out of his way to make the kitchen feel like it was ours. He was truly gracious, meeting us early in the morning for a tour of the Aguas Calientes market, and then bringing us back to the TreeHouse Bar to show us how... More

We had the opportunity to attend the Rupa Wasi Tree House Cooking School in Cusco. From the moment Alvaro picked us up at our hotel to go to the local market to shop for fresh ingredients for the class we knew we were in for a special day. He was awesome! In five minutes he made us feel as if... More

I read about the cooking classes in Aguas Calientes before arriving in Peru and really wanted to do this. My husband was reluctant, but it turned out to be a highlight of our trip to Peru!! We got behind the bar and in the restaurant's kitchen & learned how to make Pisco Sours, ceviche & quinoa. It was so much... More
