Pretty square in the centre of town with the statue of the Inca king as its centrepiece. It is flanked by a selection of bars and restaurants and is dominated by the background of the Andes mountains. Nice place to sit and watch the world and his wife stroll by.

It is a little square in an incredibly beautiful area--a setting few towns have! You have to walk through it to get to the train station to return. There are some little shops and stalls along the way.

There are some photo opportunities you may enjoy.

This is a beautiful historic open space in the centre of Aguas Calientes. You can walk around and enjoy many of the reasonably priced shops and restaurants in the immediate area. The sculptures are impressive and make for a great photo.

Although Aguas Calientes is just a pit stop before heading up to Machu Picchu and very touristy, we enjoyed the lively town, square, markets, shops and restaurants. After a full day hiking inside the ruins for 8hrs+ we definitely some R&R and the quaint busy streets of town beckoned.

There are lots of restaurants and small hotels every where, and lots of market stalls with huge amounts of souvenirs.
The one side of walkways by the river, coming down to bus station has been done in a plaza style with statues of all Inka kings.
The views of the mountains are spectacular and the fast flowing rivers give the place a great atmosphere.

The square was always full of people. The statue of the Inka king got a lot of attention. It is a charming square and I felt a sense of history, I wish we had stayed longer, nice place to see lots of people. Lots of restaurants and shops around and musicians playing on the street.

This plaza was right down the hill from our hotel. We sat on a bench for about 30 minutes watching the action. Noticed black bugs flying around and swatted them away. Was unaware that they bite as I felt nothing. Later discovered red welts on uncovered areas of my body. Took a week to disappear.

Waiting for our time to board our train back to Cusco, we sat here for more than an hour seeing life goes by. Almost every tourist to Machu Picchu comes by this square. So it is the place to see and be seen. I enjoyed the time sitting on the bench looking at the tourist taking their picture by the statues.
