- OyesolaWest Bridgford, United Kingdom1,064 contributionsFun day but need to be more safety consciousSo on the spur of the moment, we decided to visit on the 27th of Dec. We left home past 11am but cos it was a public holiday there wasn't much traffic. Though it's quite a distance we got there in about 1hr 45mins. They have ample parking space plus you can pack a picnic. When I called on the phone, the lady said they allow you to take your food but you had to get drinks from them. However I had bottled water and canned malt in my bag and I took it in. No one was searching the bags or enforcing that. They did have a stand inside where I bought bottled water at a reasonable price. Most ppl would have hiked their prices. Now it's not easy to run or manage a zoo or resort in Nigeria. The overheads are high how much more a combination of both. So I have to commend them on a job well done. However, a lot of the animals in the zoo sadly looked malnourished. Only the ostriches looked ok. The hyenas and the lion were so skinny. Maybe because of the sun a lot of the other animals didn't come out from under their shade for us to get a good look (monitor lizard, porcupine). They had 2 peacocks. One has almost no feathers and no colour. The other had just a bit on colour on its feathers. Plenty of monkeys, baboons and a chimpanzee to look at. Also some snakes, a camel, geese and crocodile. The zoo area was properly protected and no fear taking pictures. Also by 4pm the lion was fed a live goat (really tiny goat) in front of the crowd. If you can stand the sight you should watch. Though they didn't actually feed it till about 4.30pm. Omu resort has a swimming pool and a small water park area where the little ones can wade in and splash around. Tho my daughter didn't go with her swimming gear so we couldn't play there. I personally do not like the idea of such a public pool but if you dont mind, do take your swimsuit along. My main issue was with the rides. They had quite a number of fun rides however to my shock, not one single ride had a height restriction guide. I saw little kids that could easily be flung out allowed on such delicate rides. In one instance, the guard said a child was too little but the mum pleaded and the kid was allowed on. I was mortified. If you must have such rides pls do the proper thing and have a height restriction guide where any child can easily be measured if suitable or not. It was only the guard for Spaceship, that turned by 10 y.o daughter away that she was too small for that particular ride and I appreciated it. Safety should come first in such a setting. They have go karting and quad bikes (you pay extra 2000 to get on each), a mini golf course and archery. Also a wax museum that had only 3 figures and a small sea world aquarium and play area for kids. It cost us 8000 (2 adults @ 3000, 1 child @ 2000). All in all it was a fun day and hope to go back for a proper picnic with friends and family.Thank you for visiting omu Resort. We have taken notes of the constructive comments you made. It will be implemented.Written January 16, 2017This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2016Traveled with familyWritten January 15, 2017
- lindda b2 contributionsRefreshing zoo and other attractionsOmu resort was a joy to visit. They certainly have a vision going on in there; with so much packed into one entrance fee. They have a 15 animal zoo; a 65 view freshwater seaworld; a mini wax museum that has BRF; Asiwaju and more; 4 ride amusement park; go karts and more for a small fee. - Angel Michael25 contributionsMy picnic to Omi Resort in NigeriaNice and fun place to visit with friendly staffs that are readily available to assist you when ever you need their assistance and the feeding of simba (the line) was fascinating as it was my first time to see a fisting lion live and all games is functioning except the adult swimming pool, any way I enjoyed my visit and we will visit again any time we visit NigeriaVisited August 2018Traveled as a coupleWritten August 9, 2018

This destination is so blessed with so much to explore, the fact is you can't cover all in a day. So you do the ones you can and when next you visit you finish the rest. Kids are always in love with this destination but also a great place for adult. Planning of going there but need assistance then reach me on whatsapp/call +2348178198733

Very poor..felt like I wasted my money
Went on a weekday. No staffs on ground to take you round or show you how to use the equipment..
I had to go the the reception 3 times so that they could call the staffs
as I sat at the go-kart, quad bike and kayyakin for over 20 minutes and no staff on sight..
Lasty after complaining to the reception and then time to ride the quad bike..
Too smoky
Smells of fuel
Kept stopping every 10 metres
Lastly there's also a 7.5% vat added...
Terrible experience felt lost and lonely

At lagos with the family and hubby was checking for a lovely recreational park filled with games and fun things to do for the kids. We came across the so called Omu resort, hmmmm. Boy where we in for a horrible surprise. I am sooooo upset that words have failed me. This is soooo wrong in all levels. How is it that people just come out of no where set up these death traps and it’s allowed to function as a park. It’s so disorganised I kept looking everywhere to try to understand the set up. I mean how is it that this is relaxing on any kind of level. It’s stressful. Horrible uneven walk ways wow I could go on! But you know what there’s no need. Just don’t bother, if you haven’t been there your not missing a thing. Don’t waste your time, Don’t waste your money and most importantly Don’t waste your energy. I rest my case!! Smhhh

On a team building activity with staff and tneir families.
Lodged two nights at the so called newly built.
The hotel is very disconnected from the Park.
Hotel rooms awfullybasic.
With no light, hotel runs generators and turn off afternoon. Check in 3pm but it took us shouting to get the generator on by 4:15pm.
Hot water stopped running while two of my colleagues in shower.
We couldn't have breakfast together as no dining area. All served in your room.
No buffet. You get served whatever they planned.
Park itself disappointing. Only 2 quad bikes functional. Only 2 go-karting vehicles.
We couldn't do real competition among ourselves as a result. Meanwhile we got about 17 tickets each!!
Boat cruise comes with snacks. But so unhealthy and stale. We literally didn't touch what was served.
Thankfully brought our own wine.
Evening BBQ we had to order from nearby city.
We brought our drunks as all they has was pepsi coke and fan!
But I appreciate the tour guide. Somehow he managed to make us happy.
Our team too created our own fun. Kids made samd castles and used the vehicles when they where turned on.
Poor management is the case here and how to make the experience of lodgers good is something to look into.

I went with the lowest expectation possible and was pleasantly surprised. I was happy to try my hand on archery, mini golf and kayaking for the first time ever. I really liked the various sculpture of animals placed randomly around the park. Space is utilised optimally and there is so much to do, especially for kids (rides, obstacle course, pool, zoo). Good music playing throughout and enough seats for everyone even on a crowded day. Even got to see the lion feed on a goat. Best part? You are allowed to bring your own food and drink. Good for team building and family outing.
For those who like fish, you'll find a mini sea world in the arcade. There is room for improvement of course but great for the entry fee (under $10)

This resort can do with better management though. The place is amazing though quite far from the center of town.
The lion looked really hungry but it was sure watching a feeding session.

This place for me is over hyped. The go kart cars are so outdated. The engine close to your right elbow. Kayaking and the quad bike ride is OK. Go with your food and drinks. One tiny portion of chicken and chips is NGN1500 and 60cl coke is NGN200. It's a good place for kids though. Never go alone!

I had heard so much about this place and was skeptical because of the scrawny looking animals i had seen in past reviews. So we decide to take the kids to see some animals and also have some fun while seeing wild beasts....It turned out to be great fun! We are certainly going back to Omu Resort. Well priced, well managed...so far. I was also very impressed with their rest room...water was running and it was so clean for a public facility! Well done guys. Please keep it up. The only downside is that the rides seem to be locally manufactured and lack proper and constant maintenance. Watch this space guys. If the rides keep breaking down....you know the rest, right?

We really enjoyed our first visit to the resort today. There are so many things to do and for families it is perfect. For 3000N per entry (adult) you can visit zoo, aquarium, bird sanctuary, free rides, mini golf, playgrounds, swimming poo and side events like basketball and archery. Extra activities cost a little more but in all honesty, there's plenty to do on the standard priced ticket. The staff were informative and very helpful. I would recommend you take your own picnic food as what's available is limited. Our only disappointment was the big swimming pool was closed and it would have been good to have been told this upon arrival or a sign erected to advise. Also, so refreshing to not have touts following you or being bothered by people. Thanks for a great time out
