About
Nike Art Centre, Lagos, is one of Nigeria's hidden treasures. Located in Lekki, Lagos, the four-story building compromises of an art gallery and textile museum featuring over 7,000 pieces and soon to have Coffee shop. The Centre has a diverse collection of art by a multitude of artists, celebrating Nigeria's talent, offering visitors an insight into all cultures of Nigeria through the medium of art. It can take up to a full day to discover all the Nike Art Centre has to offer. Fortunately, the gallery is open 7 days a week often holding art exhibitions, workshops and cultural days. If you're feeling creative you can take an art course with Nike or go on one of her week-long retreats outside of Lagos in Osun state (Osogbo), Kogi state (Ogidi) and Abuja, all of which you can visit with 'Nike Tours'. The tours offer overnight accommodation at her guesthouses, and partake in creating traditional African crafts such as adire, batik, indigo, beadwork, painting, or carving. Nike Art Centre is an impressive gallery and a must for art lovers.

    Lovely Gallery!
Quite a large place. We spent a fair amount of time enjoying the art outside and taking pictures before we went in. There is all kinds of art. So much to see that you'll probably get tired before you've viewed it all. Pieces are pricey, but it's a lovely way to spend some time in Lagos.

    I loved it.
Great ambience. Cool environment. I took a lot of pictures and I loved the experience. I didn't like the restroom. Perhaps split the female convenience into two separate stalls as opposed one stall. I had a great time bar that generally.

Awe-Inspiring Gallery in the Heart of Lagos
Wonderful art gallery with an abundance of Afro-centric art. There’s something for everyone here at Nike art gallery. All art is for sale and there is also a gift shop so it’s a great place for getting gifts for loved ones or buying a painting/sculpture for the house. Mama Nike has done a wonderful job curating the space.

A nice family viewing at Nike Art Gallery
The guide was very nice. Paintings were wonderful but too much to look at in one day to appreciate. Also there was canvas or activities for the kids so they were just stuck waiting outside as kids under 10 aren’t allowed in the gallery.

    Insightful Experience
The paintings were really nice and showed the level of creativity that people have. Was overall a nice experience. My partner really liked the bronze statues and the African figurines as they really resonated with her.

    Incredible, vast collection
One of the most incredible collections I’ve seen. With so many amazing pieces. It’s truly a Nigerian cultural archive. We were also honoured to meet and talk with Chief Mrs Nike Okundaye

A BEAUTIFUL ART EXPENDITURE AT NIKE ART GALLERY
It was an amazing experience, the views were amazing, the art was top notch and so beautiful. I loved how it shows how beautiful the African (Nigerian) heritage. I'd love to visit again. Oh yes, loved that it was free too

    Extraordinary 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Word can’t explain how at home I felt. We also had the opportunity to meet mama Nike herself and she gave us some history of some of the art. That aside, I also had the opportunity to dance with the traditional drummers and I love this experience.

    Nice, unique
visited for 90 minutes , wanted to learn more about local culture. Place is amazing, full of art pieces in different styles. They have a short introductory session with a guide and not more. Most pieces don’t have a price tag on them and this is a shame

We traveled some time ago and looked at some interesting art. It was hot inside without AC. (They might have added some now though). The art was amazing and you could spend ages looking at it. It could have been better. There isn't much more to say but the size was large and you could spend a 1-2 hours in the Art Center.

Great gallery with over 25,000 pieces of Nigerian art. The little shop also has some handicrafts to buy. Friendly staff will tell you about the pieces and the artists but are not overly pushy. Absolutely recommend visiting when in Lagos.

Nike Art Gallery is really fantastic places to go. There are many amazing artworks to view. They are just too good for my thinking. I was totally mesmerised by the massive gallery of artwork to the extent that my thought were exhausted in interpreting the artworks. Despite the numbers, they are all distinct and excellent. Kudos to MAMA NIKE. I pray for continuity of such legend in the next generation.

Visited the Gallery with 2 friends today, was an AMAZING experience. We got a very warm welcome from Mrs. Nike (the founder) and explored the 4-storey building full of interesting art pieces. Also loved that the staff were super friendly. Would definitely visit again!

A stunning gallery of a wide variety of artworks from painting to sculpture to antiques. All displayed in a personal way where the works are together all over every inch of the walls.

I saw art like nothing I've seen before here and the staff have me some information about the king's crowns that I thought were sculptures.

A must see in Lagos!

I wandered this Gallery for quite some time enjoying this beautiful place. I was able to meet this owner and she had me speak with some students that were visiting the gallery at the same time. They helped me find just the right painting to bring back with me that perfectly represented Nigeria!

Yesterday it was a rainy day in Lagos and having just recently arrived in Nigeria, I decided to visit this art gallery. The moment I walked in, there was an abundance of art, concepts and techniques. It was all so much, so rich! It was like I have died and gone to heaven for art! Abundance! The gallery is too small for all the incredible work it is hosting, but this gives you the chance to explore among the ones that are not put up on the wall, but safeguarded by the walls. I cannot tell you how many times, I have stopped in wonder! BEING AMAZED, ASTONISHED is a state that we rarely find nowadays in our hearts, because it all has been done before and we are bombarded with information. BUT... Nike art gallery is one of those places where art speaks to your heart directly. For me, it was the greatest joy I have experienced in an art gallery or museum, even compared to New York, London, San Francisco, Madrid, etc. This was the art I felt most connected to in the entire world and I am from Romania in Eastern Europe and this is my first trip to Africa.

The owner is always present and adorned in adire. This makes the experience even more beautiful. Such a wonderful and inspiring gallery with works that showcase authentic Nigerian artistry. I’m honoured to have visited. I have visited twice and each time the works displayed changed. This shows how the gallery has become an amazing platform to give various artists an opportunity to showcase their work. Stunning <3

I was wowed by the humility of Mrs Nike who personally took my team on a tour of the Art Gallery, telling us the history behind pictures, beads, their functions and what have you
More importantly, she knew not just the names of her employees but also the Nigerian tribes from where each of them are from. The diversities in the staffing of the Art gallery is a depiction of the unity in diversity that is hardly finding its feet in the Nigerian space.
Above all, it was a worthy experience as she gave every member of my team a wonderful hand bead as souvenirs.
