We took a taxi who drove us to the spots that interested us theres a total of 14 spruiked as a one hour walk ?The Heritage Museum which was ok gave a good insight into Sandakan establishment demise in WW2 and it rebuilding.

This walk takes in all the heritage buildings around Sandakan. Need to be fairly fit to do it. Morning is best time when it's cooler. Lots of steps. Chinese memorial and cemetery, good. Agnes Keith house is fabulous.

This trail is extremely run down. Most of the way is on broken pathways so slippery I nearly landed in the jungle a few times. There is also a large part on a busy curving road with no pavement.
