Visited this Tanjung Tuan walking trail in July 2020 as part of a group trip with friends. It was an easy to moderate walk up after an entry fee of RM 1/per pax. Unfortunately you are unable to get into the light house and there isn't much of a view besides seeing the occasional glimpses of the sea when there are some clearings between trees. Advised for people who walk here to wear closed toe shoes and sports gear.

The park is nice with several routes to follow. The main road goes all the way upvthe hill to visit the lighttower that was build by the Portugese in 1562. You cannot visit it inside. You can walk around it but due to the busjes around it, there no more great views of the coastline. On the way to the lighthouse there is a path to monkey beach. The first part is quilt steep, but further on it is easier. You walk through the jungle to a nice beach. Several local families wete already there. Unfortenately there was a lot of litter and plastic on the beach. People should not make such a mess. The other beach we went was by trail behind the lighthouse and ended with a lot of stairsteps which went steep downwards. It was a more secluded beach with also a local family and a lot of rubbish. That really was disappointing. When we went back and out of the park there was a group of monkeys passing by on their way to the park. It was great to see them move along.

Cost was 1 MYR to enter.

The walk up to the Lighthouse - Cape Rachado - is fairly steep but if you take your time and enjoy the scenery then you reach the top in no time.

Watch out for monkeys along the way but they only seem interested in the overflowing rubbish bins and getting food from there.

The walk is approximately 800 meters and many people were just wearing thongs/flip flops.

When you start walking around the outskirts of the lighthouse you get glimpses of deep blue colour water in the Straits of Malacca.

There are some other walks off the main track, however they are NOT sign posted so make sure you have plenty of water.

Construction at entrance. Looks like they're improving the park. Currently quite a bit of trash on the trail, broken handrails, very little if any signage. Sadly lighthouse is closed. Hopefully will open soon and be even more beautiful!

Gathered some of my friends, and off we go to Tanjung Tuan, situated in Negeri Sembilan. There were 7 of us, so we went there in two cars.

We took the route with no toll, as the scenery is better.

Arrived, the place has ample of parking space. We got down from our car, and started the hike. Actually, it is not so much of a hike, but more like slow walk up the hill. The walk up is easy enough for kids, and not-too-taxing for the elderlies.

Do note that the lighthouse is off-linits to visitors, but you can still take pictures fron the entrance.

Continue off further, and you shall reach the beach. Be amazed by the beach (but given the tide, I didn't see anyone taking a dip here). & if you are lucky, you get the chamce to meet the 'locals' here - the monkeys!!

Tanjung Tuan Recreational Forest is a small isolated patch of forest with a lighthouse at the top of the hill; and forest trails to the beaches of Pulau Intan (a tombolo), Pulau Masjid and Monkey Bay, and to a view point at the rocky peak of Bukit Batu Putih. Entrance fee is RM1/adult. An ideal time to visit would be in March, as we did, for the additional bonus of observing migrating raptors (in particular oriental honey buzzards) fly past and kettle above Tanjung Tuan, as they make their way back to East Asia during spring migration. It is truly one of nature's amazing spectacles. The best spots to watch the raptors would be from the lighthouse (not open to public but you can walk around it on a narrow path) and Bukit Batu Puteh peak. Peak times (weather dependent) are usually from 11 am to 3 pm, the hottest time of the day, so dress to protect from the sun (long sleeves, wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen). The only toilet is located at the entrance of the reserve.

It is a great location for everything you want, suitable to go with friends or family - hiking, swimming, picnicking, instagrammable lighthouse; just prep some food with appropriate attires & shoes for the trail. Did a different hiking route, moderate hiking level that going up and down, climbing the rocks cutting across to the other side of the beach then climbing up the rock mountain for the stunning view.

Really a cool park. We hiked all the way over along the beach from Lexis Hibiscus. There are cove beaches and lovely views and plant life. Be prepared for a good hike once you are inside the park! But that is what my husband and I were looking for so we had a great time.

What a beautiful and natural recreation place to visit! I and two young children visited this place without any planning. There is a hotel right in front of the entrance of light House. We took a walk up hill for 20 min to reach there. The light house only open for certain days through the year. However, there is also a bird seeing place too. Try the hiking trail downhill to the beach if you are prepared.

Tanjung Tuan Forest Recreation is an excellent spot for nature lovers. The hike to the lighthouse is relatively easy for someone moderately fit. It's takes about 15-20 minutes to reach the peak of Bukit Batu Putih which offers a breathtaking view of the ocean. From the lighthouse, one can proceed down towards the wonderfully uncrowded beach through a beautiful natural path. There is also good a trail for bird watching enthusiasts. I have returned to Tanjung Tuan Forest Recreation countless of times and is never disappointed.
