It's just a cemetary, but our guide made it a great experience. He knew so much history of the pirates and it was a fun little hike to get there too!

Good walk thru local island areas up to the cemetery on the rocky outcrop. Fascinating tales of pirates & adventurers and some were women!!!

Not every country has a pirate cemetery. Although it's weathered and been robbed of treasures, pun intended, it's still worth the visit. The ticket includes the guide, who will explain the history of the area and various pirates buried at the cemetery. Not all died...More

I would recommend a visit here. The ticket 'office' is just off the main road. You have to buy a ticket to attend. I think it was 12,000 Ariary. They lead you a LONG way and over rocks/up a small slippy slope to the graveyard....More

Interesting historical site to visit on Ile Santa Marie. Fun, 'off the beaten track' path leading to the cemetary and a great view of the bay once you're there

We visit pirate cemetery when we in St.Marie, it was interesting to see the history even not very organized...but we had local tour guide for this trip so very helpful for understanding the story of pirate.

This is an interesting place but don't go out of your way to visit it. There is quite a hike to the actual cemetery which is quite small but perched on a little hill with nice views of the sea and the Catholic Church.
