Beautiful area. Vendors were very pushy. One vendor let me meet two of his lizards and then wanted five dollars for it. Two men dressed in native-type regalia each wanted five dollars for singing to my roommate and I. This stop on our trip was not worth it in my opinion.

Beautiful falls, a must visit. 15 mins bimble to the falls from entrance as it’s all down hill; coming back up will definitely break some sweat as the path is bit steep. Bit of treacherous path and might get slippery when rains, so recommend a decent pair of shoes. Walk closer to the falls to getting better view and pictures. Next to entrance is a lodge and would not recommend to eat food there, but enjoy the drinks as the garden is beautiful and your can hear the roaring of Thompson falls.

The falls are beautiful, and especially so while visiting Kenya, were water are rare. However, not all of us felt it was worth the effort of going up and down all those stairs. The way to this falls was filled with water bottles, snacks bags and other unpleasant leftovers of people. The kids did enjoy getting closer and a bit wet, I would settle for a picture from the view points above the falls.

The falls and the grounds themselves are beautiful but be prepared to be overrun by all sorts of people vying for your attention and your money. It was very uncomfortable; we couldn't wait to make our way through there, get a look at the falls, and get out.

We came here today and enjoyed it. There are stairs and a rail to the bottom so it's not too hard to walk. However, be prepared to walk back up them. Our guide warned us about people jumping in your photos then asking for money, but no one bothered us too much. It's 200khs for entry.

Stopped by the, falls for lunch on a long drive. The falls are a decent size. You have to pay to get closer and then you will be bombarded by local shop owners asking you to go to their store. Don't take pictures of the people dressed in tribal outfits or the guy with the chameleon, they will charge you after the fact. There is a little path to get closer to the falls that was an easy walk. You will get harassed on this path also.

If you decide to go shopping, be aware!! They are very aggressive and work together to make you visit more shops. My friend bought a necklace and the store owner handed it to another lady after she had paid and said "her friend would wrap it up" which was a ploy for her friend to take us to the other end of the shopping area to make us visit her shop. If you buy something take it right away so you don't get led on a wild goose chase. Also, they start prices super high. You need to start super low and bargain. They will come down a lot on their prices. They will try to make you feel bad for them to get you to spend money "please buy so I can feed my baby" don't fall for it. One lady even stood in front of me to not let me get buy so I would see her shop. I had to politely push pass as it was a bit threatening. It was exhausting to deal with these women. I was in such an overload that I didn't have time to think and didn't get all the souvenirs that I wanted. I just wanted to get out of there.

We drove to The Thompson’s Falls on the Ewaso Ng’iro river which is situated at the base of the Aberdare Ranges two miles from the town of Nyahururu. Despite being so close to the equator, the air is cool since Nyahururu is Kenya's highest major town at about 2400m. Lush mountainous surroundings with its explosion of greenery, river, and tall trees - mostly eucalyptis, and the freshest of mountain air - dramatic change in landscape. Stunning views of the waterfall from the many viewing areas along the rim of the deep ravines - the spray from the pool almost reaches the top! There’s a 20-minute walking path to the base of the Falls which is a bit steep and rocky. They also have stairs but not the whole way. There’s a fee for entry to the Falls (a different one for non-citizens and citizens of 200 ksh and 50 ksh respectively). You can avoid paying the fee if your guide knows someone there. Quite a few curio shops. Pestered by touts to buy their wares. Caught our first glimpse of natives with their painted faces, headgear and colourful costumes. They hid their faces when we wanted a photograph them and agreed to have their pictures taken for a fee.

The waterfall is beautiful. Near about the local mama's shops have lots of handicrafts for those who are interested.
