We had a very nice experience overall. We left early morning because although we were booked for the previous evening, we were informed that one of the vehicles had a breakdown. Omar planned a beautiful morning sunrise trip and it happened to be an extremely cold and foggy morning so on the way the team decided to have a break to avoid any risk and lit up a fire. It was beautiful and the place reminded of a fictional Martian landscape. Omar and our driver Adil were very considerate, helpful and expert drivers. They deserve full praises for doing everything to make our trip memorable.

So we booked this tour in September with Omar and I assumed we had Omar as our guide. When we arrived, we were introduced to Mohammed- his brother. Mohammed, was very accommodating and ‎helped with our two infants, however the expectation we had was Omar.

It started with a camel ride- that was fun! My son loved it and my wife felt she was in a documentary for national geographic. We then went to the camp site for lunch- I recommend do the desert cooked lunch- we had all vegetarian food‎, the kids didn't eat much and I would have liked some cooked meat.

We then went on the jeep tour, we saw the sites, a little silent and we could have done with a more entertaining story to go with the sites! Although Mohammed was really good with the kids and helped them in every way!

We then went for tea and sunset. It was freezing, however worth it. Definitely do this‎ tour however note the following:

Do the cooked lunch in the desert, not the camp site;
Ask for Omar as the guide and use his car- it's new and has indoor heating- easy in winter for the kids!

The one disappointment I have is that Omar should have mentioned in our correspondence that the guide will be someone else, as we had expectations built on him due to all the other reviews.

I was then also a little upset that when we booked, we advised we had two young kids- 1 and 3 year old, so Omar should have given us his car- for heating and comfort for the kids.

It was frustrating to see the two young men use his car, whilst my family sat outside in the back of the car in the cold. Well I didn't know, however considering Omar knew it was winter and we had two kids- he should have accommodated us slightly better.

Not complaining, however important for others to know if your traveling with young kids!

We booked with Omar and was in constant communication with him on the lead up to the trip. Initially we were going to sleep in the Wadi overnight but the weather was bad (rained constantly that night) so called Omar and he suggested we change days. Instead we did a day 4x4 tour in our own car with Omar guiding (great fun if you like off-road driving).
Omar is a entrepreneurial young man who is doing a great job running his new tour guide business. He's very polite, hospitable, reliable and knowledgable about Wadi Rum. Keep it up Omar!

My husband and I booked a private tour and 1 night stay at wadi rum with Omar. Initially we will slightly skeptical and dint know what to expect but it was a fabulous experience. He showed us around wadi rum for a couple of hours and then put us up in a tent which had good bathroom and great food !! I'm vegetarian and enjoyed the food he cooked for me in front of me in a Bedouin tent !! Great service and Omar took care of all our needs and made sure we were comfortable !! Highly recommended !!! :)

Spent an awesome day and night with Omar and his bedouin friends. He picked us up at the visitor centre and drove us at the back on his comfortable 4*4 jeep into the mind-blowing Wadi Rum desert. We had a "little" hike while Omar was preparing us lunch (variety of bedouin food, hot/cold, it was good and massive portions). We then had a tour of the desert and saw everything recommended in the different guides (rock paintings, bridge, sand formation and even did some sand boarding).
Omar, then took us on a long hike/climbing adventure at the top of the burggrah rock. It was medium to difficult but he looked after us well. It was absolutely fantastic view from the top of the hill and would recommend it to anyone.
We spent the night in the bedouin camp (the Mohammed Mutlak camp advertised on trip advisor). We arrived for sunset, had diner and went to bed. It was comfortable enough for a night and a good way to enjoy bedouin experience.
Spending the day with Omar in the Wadi Rum desert was one of the highlight of our trip to Jordan. Omar took care of us very well, very positive attitude and just fun to spend time with him.
You need at least one afternoon to see everything the desert has to offer. I would definitely recommend spending the night in the camp as the sunset and the night in the desert is mind blowing.
Thank you Omar for a very fun and interesting day.

After some research we decided to book Omar for our Wadirum experience! And we are so glad- it was amazing- he told us so much about the history of the place and brought us around to all the main sites to be seen!
He responded very quickly to our enquiries and contacted us through Whatapp which made it very convenient for us! The food was top class- and delicious tea was served in abundance at lunch and dinner!
Omar also helped to organise our transport into Aqaba for the next day- a really genuinely nice guy who aims to please!
The camp was perfect- we lay out under the stars for a couple of hours before going onto bed.
A super experience! Loved it! :)

This review could go on and on with all the good things I could say. Rather than do that, I will try to make this a short review. First off, Omar was fantastic. He was easy to reach via e-mail before our trip and explained everything we needed to do to meet up with him. He even gave us his cell number in case we got lost or needed help the first morning.

Everyone at the gate knew Omar and spoke highly of him. We were introduced to him and followed his truck into the village where we left our car (it is very safe). We started by going on an hour long camel ride that Omar had arranged with a local boy and his camels. It was a great experience.

Then we were brought to the springs and climbed up the side of the mountain to get to the trees. After that we were driven around in his truck, stopping to see the sights along the way. We stopped for lunch and relaxed at a tent with a young boy named Muhammad who ran a small shop on the days off from school. Muhammad was a great salesmen!

We got to go sand-boarding, which was a great experience then saw a few more sights before reaching our campsite for the evening. There were a few other tourists there, a mother and daughter from Holland, and a couple from Germany. Other than that, there was just the man who ran the camp and Omar. We had lovely conversation with both the men and tourists and a great dinner.

The next day, Omar drove us back to our cars and we said goodbye. Omar was a very honest and warm man who genuinely wanted to give us a good experience. He was very open and engaged us in conversations about his family, his religion, and Jordan in general. He was a great ambassador for his country.

One final thought, as you travel around Jordan, you will see people just throw their trash on the ground which leads to a very cluttered country. Some of the people we talked to said their guides would just throw water bottles in the desert or leave their trash behind. We NEVER witnessed Omar do this, he was respectful of his guests as well as the natural beauty of the desert.

Thank you Omar for giving us such a wonderful experience in Jordan!
