I used Raami Tours, a local Bedouin tour company, to visit Wadi Rum and the rest of Jordan. Barbara with Raami Tours was very helpful in setting up my itinerary and tailoring to my needs. She and her daughter Rebekah picked me up at the southern border crossing before heading into the desert. Along the way they made sure I... More

Even for the lighthearted, this is definitely a place to visit when in Jordan. Being a mountain/water person, I was unsure about voluntarily visiting and sleeping in the desert. However, I was MORE than pleasantly surprised by the beauty that emanated from everything. The arches in Wadi Rum are very similar to what one would find in Moab, Utah, but... More

Interesting place with spectacular desert scenery. We did a 'desert safari' with the Hillawi camp where we stayed. This involved driving around the desert and stopping in different locations to viewpoints, have coffee and look at the sunset.

To see the desert on top of a camel is like nothing else I have experienced. I was totally hypnotised and could quite easily have gone go sleep (but for the fact I would have fallen off)!

We had a great time in the desert. It was hot, but the low humidity kept the perspiration to a minimum. The dunes and rock outcroppings were lots of fun to climb.

Wadi Rum made famous by T E Lawrence, Lawrence of Arabia as the Valley of the Moon is as close to the real Bedouin Desert experience as one can get. A truly wondrous place which makes you realize just how puny a human is in front of nature. The sense of space, the sound of silence and the sheer awesomeness... More

You can't see other place like this. We arrive Wadi Rum about 4:30 after noon and meet our Bedouin guide with his pick up. Starting the tour he told us about the people living in this place. Here they live around 2000 people all of the same family. First stop was at the visitors tent and serve us with a... More

This landscape was like nothing I've seen before, even after spending a lot of time in the similarly covered red rocks of Sedona, Arizona. From camel riding, to vintage jeep driving, to "sand surfing," this place has tons of adventure.

The Wadi Rum desert is spectacular, no other way to describe it. Do not miss if you are going to Petra.

Wadi rum is super interesting to see! It's really the desert in the way people imagine them but with interesting rocks and history. That said, we went in july and by 11 the heat was almost unbearable so go as early as sunrise
