I have always wanted to do a balloon trip but it had to be in the right location - Wadi Rum at sunrise seemed to fit the bill!

As soon as we arrived in Jordan our driver advised it was highly unlikely as the balloon hadn't been up for a while due to weather conditions. In fact as he dropped us off in Wadi Rum he again said it was unlikely to happen. We were so excited when we got a message at 8pm to say be ready for a 5am pick up the next day.

We were collected by one of the team, then met up with the balloon and other guests and driven to the launch site. It was cold, but we were dressed for it, so could watch the setting up. The balloon wasn't full (8 of us plus crew), apparently there were 4 no shows, which is a shame as I'm sure there would be a waiting list.

We finally took off and experienced the silence at sun rise.

I don't know how long we were up in total, over an hour, but just slowly moving across the desert at different heights was amazing. The landing was incredibly smooth thanks to the skills of the pilot, we barely noticed as we touched the ground, not like the films you see with the basket crashing to the ground! We then had hot tea and locally made cake whilst the crew disassembled the balloon.

It was the highlight of my holiday, hard to say when we'd seen so many amazing places in our 2 weeks in Jordan. Thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Wadi Rum.

We booked the tour for the 14th of August 2020. They picked us up at the camp at 5 am. They drove us into the desert at a flat location. They inflated the balloon with big fans. Captain Khalid was so professional. He inspected the ropes, gas tanks, hookes, wind direction, to insure our safety. He told us that he is the only Jordanian who is internationally certified to be a balloon captain. He has been doing it for so many years and obviously it was so obvious that it was his pation. We went up to 3000 feet. We circled above Wadi Rum. The views were breath taking. You could see the red mountains, rock formation for miles.
It is the best way to see Wadi Rum. You definitely will feel how magestic this place is. We were airborne for over 1.5 hours. Time flew by so quickly as it was so enjoyable. I will recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Wadi Rum

A unique experience! I was a little stressed to climb up into the sky with a balloon. But once in the air, I was overcome by the amazing views of the desert and hills of Wadi Rum. The staff are very professional and very attentive to security so that we could enjoy the moment without worries. While they are preparing the ballon, you can enjoy dawn and sunrise over the desert, which is stupendous as much as the sunset! Quite expensive but well worth every dollar !

I organized this experience as a surprise for my husband and our three adult children. We went in the beginning of September 2019.
The communication with Mr. Khaled Shishani was all the time very fluent. The organization was perfect. We had never been in a hot ballon before and the experience suprised us: it dosn't feel scary at all. Very peacful and amazing feeling floating in the air. I can highly recommend Mr. Khaled Shishani and his team. True professionals. In the early morning it was a bit windy so we were not sure if it would work out, but they checked and re-checked the weather conditions and waited before they finally decided to make the trip. All in all a really wonderful and amazing experience. Thank you so much!!!

Doing this was the best decision during our holidays! Khaled and his team are really experienced and friendly people. The whole time we felt safe and sound. I was a bit afraid because of the height - but I was too amazed by the colours and the view, so I forgot it.
Seeing the sun going up over Wadi Rum and enjoying the silence in the hot air ballon (as long as Khaled is not firing it :) ) was such and amazing and magical experience. All my life I will think of that!
It was really not cheap but worth every single penny. This is an absolute must do.

Everything worked well: the booking, answering my questions and the pick up from our camp.

This is an incredible experience that we would highly recommend! We scheduled our balloon via whatsapp were picked up at our camp at 5am to drive to the balloon site (maybe 15 minutes away). There were 16 people on the flight, but each group has its own small section in the balloon basket so it doesn’t feel crowded. The crew set up the balloon (which is very interesting to watch) and we took off around 6:30. We flew for about an hour and the view was amazing! After the flight the crew served us coffee, tea, and cake in the desert. We felt very safe during the flight. If you are in Wadi Rum you should definitely book this! It was fantastic.

We had booked in July for a flight late September. Well in advance in order not to miss out in a fantastic experience. We could have booked with any company, yet we chose this one. The company was in touch with us until the day before the flight regarding weather conditions and payment. All of a sudden, the flight was cancelled because of ‘a change of management’. It was too late to find another company to fly with. Whereas we could have accepted ‘bad weather conditions’ easily, ‘change of management’ is not an excuse. Truly appalling!

I booked two months in advance and the flight was confirmed. Three days before the
Flight I wanted to confirm everything again and received the information that since two weeks is no flights can be done. When I asked why I was not informed earlier, I got the answer that it would not be possible to inform the 16 people per day earlier. Really?!?
Because of the short time, no alternative could be booked. Very unreliable! Not recommended!

incredible, great, amazing... you can choose the good words to describe the wonderful start of the day we got on Wadi Rum. it was the best way to overlook the area we had spend the previous day.
all safe, organized and the only thing we need to do it is to look around and enjoy.
the entire experience goes for around 3 hours, since they get you on the camps and bring you back. it worths every minute!!!
