It was really hard to find a place that had ATVs and not Jeeps...and one where you could actually drive yourself. I am so glad we found iDrive! We had an amazing time ATVing in Mitzpe Ramon. We were four drivers and seven kids, aged 11-20. Dani, our guide and the owner of iDrive, was great. He really met our needs, started slow and sped up as we became more proficient at driving the ATVs. He kept us moving but safely and having loads of fun. The stops were great as he pointed out sites and even took pictures for us. He let the kids move from jeep to jeep and we even switched drivers at some stops, allowing everyone to have a chance in every location in the vehicles. As much as the the kids loved all the bumping and jumping of the ATVs on the rocky roads, the adults loved the driving experience! Even our newest driver, a teen licensed just for a few months, was made to feel safe and had an awesome driving experience on the crater. We will for sure recommend iDrive to anyone who is looking for a similar amazing experience!

We took the 5-hours across the crater tour. Departure was at 9 am. We first drove eastwards along the rim to have a splendid view on the maktesh ramon crater, which was really amazing. Our guide Danny explained how the crater was created 200 million years ago. We then drove down in to the crater. As the driver I had a really fun time, my passengers also really enjoyed the views and the offroad driving. The trail is somewhat challenging but if you follow the guides instructions, it's no big deal. The crater itself is really amazing, the colors, the animals, the nature.
We stopped to have a very nice lunch under a tree and then moved on to cross the crater. We finally made another stop to have a coffee and then headed back. Time goes fast, when you're having fun.
At the end some wild horses ran along with the buggy which was really awesome. I can really recommend it to anyone. We hesitated to take the 5h trip because it seemed long to us but the time went really fast and it was worth every second of it. I would have regreted if i had taken the 3h trip.

If you book an activity with iDrive don’t be surprised if they cancel the trip one second before it starts.
This is what happened to us!
We are an Israeli family living abroad. We booked iDrive Mitzpe Ramon in early June 2019 (two months in advance): Beresheet colors tour for 3.5h drive.
I received a confirmation email from iDrive on Jun 2nd.
Based on that we booked our hotel and secured a rental car since it is a long drive from the center.

Ten days before our arrival I doubled confirmed our arrival and updated that my wife would be joining to the tour. I received an additional confirmation email on July 15th

On July 25th at 9:00, as scheduled, we were standing in front of a closed office trying to figure out why the place is closed. After 20min we called Daniel to inquire where he and our three vehicles were.
Apparently, Daniel send me email on 24th at 23:30 (the night before our reservation, while we were sleeping at the hotel):

Hi Meir
I'm really sorry about the last minute
and i know that you plan on this activity,
but we have sum problem with the ATV so we send them to the dealer now.
so the ATV activity that you booked whit us is canceling for the next 2 weeks.
really sorry
and wishing you good day
iDrive

All eight vehicles needed servicing at the same time? The iDrive team couldn't arrange an alternative solution? They knew we were coming from abroad and they knew about the hotel booking. Still they didn’t care about canceling the trip at the last second causing us lots of sorrow and aggravation, loss of time and money. They didn't call to inform us, and they haven't responded to any of my emails since.

Compensation?? No compensation and no good alternative proposed by iDrive. Now it's August, we're back home, they've ignored my phone calls and my emails, and we missed what was meant to be the highlight of our trip to Israel.

Book this company at your own risk. My advice: find an alternative jeep experience or risk total disappointment, lost money and wasted time.

Be aware.

We took the half day trip through the Ramon Crater. Definitely worthwhile! The scenery is spectacular, Danino is a fantastic guide and the drive was just challenging enough to be exhilarating but not intimidating. We stopped at a couple of waterholes, brewed coffee under an acacia tree, and all came home very happy.

My wife and I took 2 of our boys (16 & 18) ATVing here and it was a blast.
I recommend staying overnight, as we drove back and forth from Jerusalem in one day and the 2.5 hour drive is exhausting but well worth it.
Danny, our guide, was fantastic and makes a great cup of coffee.

I took my family of six, kids ages 11-21 on this ATV tour. Anyone with a drivers license was allowed to drive. It was our favorite part of our vacation.
