Eight members of "BEAC" Trekking Club (Budapest, Hungary) were participated in this five days hike in Negev. The landscape was very unique for European hikers like us.
Terrain was not really difficult but it requires proper boots and lot of water. The main difficulty was the high temperature and strong UV radiation, thus wear hats, sunglasses and use sunscreen (even in April!).
Organization was excellent, and tracks could be followed easily according to the maps provided.
Many thanks to Yoash and his staff!!!

I have just returned from a 5 day trek at the Rimon Crater- Israelis call it the Machtesh. I flew into Tel Aviv and took a train and a bus to Mitzpe Ramon. I stayed at the Green Backpackers hostel overnight and our group of 4 set off the next morning with our wonderful guide Boaz.
We walked about 18-20km per day, carrying a backpack with provisions and water (4.5 litres) for the day. The scenery was extraordinary and very varied. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the environment, the history and politics and the flaura and fauna. All the time he was pointing out fascinating features of the landscape such as the vegetation and the rock formations. We even found tiny sharks teeth from 80 million years ago when the area was under the sea. Some of the hiking is challenging but incredibly satisfying. We walked on sand, shale, flint. Sometimes it felt like a lunar landscape. Other times the views from the top of the mountain were breathtaking.
Each night the support jeep came out bringing two tents, food and firewood and we made dinner which we ate under the stars. The tents just spring open easily and we were very cosy in our sleeping bags. The sky at night glows with all the star formations and later on, when the moon came up it was so bright that we didn't even need our torches.
Your 'toilet' is behind any rock or bush! Have no worries about this!
Negev Trek was very well organised. Our communication was very good and they answered every email promptly. Payment is very easy. The quality of information about the trek was excellent.
At the end of 5 days I was exhilarated and amazed at what I had done.
I would highly recommend Negev Trek and the Green Backpackers Hostel. They are very environmentally aware. They are both fully committed to ensuring that we had a great experience.

We did a 5 day self guided trek. It was an amazing experience. The support from the company was great: Food, camps, people were so good, can‘t find enough words of praise. If you love the beauty of the desert, like to hike and enjoy camping under the stars this is your thing! We would love to do it again.

My Partner and I spent 5 days treking with Negev Trek. We were both very impressed with the organisation and the desire of Negev Trek to make the whole experience as memorable as possible. We had a guide who was extremely knowledgeable and we learnt much about the fauna and landscape as well as the ancient history. of the area. The walking distances each day were just about right. The camping facilities were much better than we expected and the food was fantastic, being prepared for us as we sat around a camp fire. it was a great experience and one we would recommend.

three friends spent glorious days hiking on the western part of the ramon crater. each day's hike was planned and clear. we were able to enjoy the spectacular desert scenery, wildflowers, and interesting geology without the burden of carrying all our gear. the jeep with tents and supplies awaited us every afternoon and picked up the gear each morning. the food was diverse, packed well and supplied with all utensils. we even had a cold beer to end the day. nice touch. i would reccomend to all who want to get away from it all without having to take it all with you.

Three Israelis, desert lovers, hiked the western part of Maktesh Ramon. NegevTrek lifted us to the starting point (Mt. Ido) and brought our gear and food to the camp site. Service is excellent: On Time, Just what we needed, with a smile and professionalism. Offcourse they know every trail and most of the stones. Great experience.

We did a five-day trek in January 2016, which was absolutely stunning and very well-organised. Having previously walked mostly in the Alps, Scotland and Romania, this 5-day hike is medium to medium-high in terms of difficulty. Apart from the great scenery, astonishing fauna and flora, we also enjoyed the quietness of some of the more remote parts of the Negev, which you cannot get to if you only do day trips from Mitzpe Ramon. Yoash and Itay provided us with maps, food and all the equipment to sleep & cook at designated campsites. The treks are marked very clearly, so getting lost is no option. Good shoes are definitely required and using Negevtrek is a big plus as it allows one to travel during the day without having to carry all the material all the time. Yoash and Itay also gave us some great insights into local culture, nature and various historical sites (Roman, Nabatean, early Muslim ruins), so I can warmly recommend Negevtrek for anyone wishing to explore the Negev on foot.

Thank you so much for your kind words.
It was a pleasure having you with us on this tour and we hope that you'll come back and trek with us along the other amazing trails the Negev desert has to offer.
The good weather and the time of year you picked worked in our favor as well.
Thanks again,
and hope to see you with us in the future,
From myself and the rest of
Negev Trek Team

Guys are awesome! They do not regular things. They took us to deep desert and amazing whaterfalls. We made great pictures!
We didn't need to carry our bags (the jeep did it) and food.
