When I came here, there was nobody but me and my friends. The atmosphere was very solemn and I deeply enjoyed the entire experience The Statue that welcome us was the Maitreya. I have my picture here holding his thumb The great Kuan Yin Statue was huge and totally impressive If you come to Tanjung Pinang, you must visit this... More

This is quite a large Buddhist temple located closer to Tanjung Pinang in Bintan. Temple had a lot of Buddhist statues and other monuments with detailed architecture. the Pillars at the entrance are carved with great details based on Chinese architecture and the locals informed us that most of the building materials etc were imported directly from China to build... It wasn't much to see here, but rather boring. Not worth renting a car to go there. They had nothing to offer.

Officially opened in June 2009 after a ten-year construction, this impressive temple complex seems to aptly illustrate the renaissance of the local Chinese community following the 1998 regime change. Amazing, too, is the large dragon fruit plantation between the main gate and the temple.

It was an amazing building. Once you entered the temple, you will see a huge Buddha. It was very peaceful and nice scenery !! You get to appreciate their sculpted pillars. Suitable to go with families, couples and friends.

Our friend brought us here to see the temple before we headed for Trikora. An amazing sight from far, wide spacious dragonfruit field laid at the front of the temple. The fruits were harvested already so we couldn't see the bright pink fruits around. Not many worshippers were there when we came, and we appreciated the serenity of the surrounding.... More

Before you enter the temple, you will bypass a dragon fruit plantation which is nice if the fruit is full grown. It is worth visiting about half an hour spent. It is near the city. So you can visit it after your city tour.
