concept of the place is good and nice. good to do a better bargain. try to collect all the wooden craft items , show case items , for your house and friends. But need some business to keep the place live or else it will become abandoned in coming days.

It costs SGD5 for a return trip to Pasah Oleh Oleh. It is a very small place and you can finish walking around it within 2 minutes. The driver dropped us outside a spa store (which he recommended of course). We got in, looked at the prices and decided to walk around before doing the spa. Shockingly, all other stores were closed (and mostly wound up)! Even the official Bintan Resorts souvenir shop was wound up. That spa was literally the only shop that remained open.

Nevertheless, you can walk back to the area where the driver tells you to get the shuttle back to the hotel. There are some food stalls and also grocery stores where you can buy some cheap food and drinks in case you can't stand the extreme prices in the hotels. Some spas are also situated there, with far more reasonable prices than those in the resorts. I and my mum got a tropical full body massage there. It cost RPH500,000/90min. Quality was good and the staff was very friendly.

So if you are not wishing to buy cheap snacks and cup noodles or trying spa with affordable price, you should never go to this place. It seems that there are not enough customers and most shops could not continue there business.

Don't even bother

I was here a few years back and returned in Feb 2015 for a visit (due to the high meal prices at hotels). There were two eateries which were open and a few other shops (spas and souvenirs). Many shops were closed including one which I liked from my past visit. This place is now very run down, decrepit and a downright disgrace to the friendly folks of Bintan. Considering that you have to pay for a shuttle bus/taxi to come here, I think you would be better off staying at the hotel and ordering the cheapest item there. This place is sad, bad and you would have to be mad to come here.

Very small

You can visit this little place ordering a transfer from the hotel. There are very small local shops with a poor choice of souvenirs and very expensive. I bought two local pillowcases 15 dollars each and some local jewellery. There 2 small supermarkets with a very limited choice of goods like beer and snacks. We had lunch twice in the cafe. The food was nice. Not a very exciting place. There are several spas as well.

Don't waste your relax time at your resort
Feb 2015 • Family
I won't waste my time going there for a visit. There is literally nothing there worth visiting ... shops / foods / massage - forget it. You better off relaxing in your resort at the pool side or the beach.

It seems like this place was set up by the surrounding resorts for guests to experience the "real Bintan" thus not complain about the hotel prices when they return.

It is a theme park village with souvenir, fake designer clothing an d restaurants. The mini marts are a lot cheaper than back at the resorts and the souvenirs probably are (we didn't bother looking). There are signs everywhere saying "No Touting" but that didn't stop people coming up to us to try to sell us tours or taxi services to real places. Perhaps if you want to visit a genuine Bintan town this would be a cheaper alternative than to go direct from your resort.

We had planned to spend a couple of hours here and to have lunch but once we arrived after a quick circuit of the shops we waited at the shuttle stop for the next bus back to our resort
