A complete mall! You can spend hours here, shopping, eating or watching a movie. This mall has almost everything under one roof and it is actually a pretty huge mall. I went here twice on 2 different trips to Pekanbaru and I enjoyed both occasions I was there. :)

Some construction work still going, the rest room are too small but well clean and maintained. Only two lifts to reach the top floor, it was a little bit harder to find a book store that i want to visit, not enough signage to inform about the tenants.

Me and my travel buddies originally wanted to go somewhere else but gotten confused and ended up here. From outside the mall looks superior and grand, but as we went in, we were thoroughly disappointed. It is your standard shopping mall. For locals I'm sure it is a pleasant shopping experience, but as travellers, we find that there's nothing unique about this mall. You have the standard departmental store (Matahari) and many modern outlets as well, which I can also find in my hometown. We left after only 20 minutes.

Mall SKA Pekanbaru was located at strategic place, it's about 25 minutes from Sultan Syarif Kasim Airport. The dome of green's colour is a special characteristic the biggest mall in Pekanbaru this time. There are many choices to go there, as taxi, public transportation and many others. Open hours at 10.00 am until 09.30 pm. If you first time arrived in Pekanbaru, this place to be appropriate choice to procure all of your need. Many groceries in hypermart, clothes in Matahari department store, KFC, Dunkin donuts, and others. Some of traditional food available in this food court too

This Mall started construction on the early 2000’s, and has a somewhat convoluted layout. It is also not the fanciest mall in PKU (that would be Living World). However, it is likely the largest mall in town with the greatest variety of stores: l’ Occitane, Body Shop, Starbucks , DIY, and our new favorite clothing store - Ada. Natasha also has great facials. It also has the only ice skating rink in PKU. We found everything we needed.

They say it's one of the modern kind of mall in Pekanbaru. I say its a small and pathetic mall but there is literally nothing interesting in this whole city either. So here i am chilling in mall to get away from the heat.
ohhh... I almost get a heart attack when i see the bath room because the bath room chambers are made from sheet of plywood. I thought that bathroom is out of service until i find the other bathroom also made from plywood.
But... the bright side is they offer good bargain almost in every store. I find the same shirt i bought in Jakarta last month, but this one half price. As a good girl, i jump into the sale frenzy mode. I only here for 10 days, i don't know if they have this sale for a year around or probably i come on the right time hehehehehehe

This mall is very modern and a lot of the shops are in the western world. Prices are reasonably high. It is very clean.

With not much touristy things to do in Pekanbaru, we ended up at the SKA mall near the Ibis Hotel. There was a fencing demonstration on the lower ground floor (rich kids). The matahari department store has a lot of good stuff. We had lunch at the Kim Teng branch; ayam penyet & gado-gado. Everything else was typical of a mall anywhere in South East Asia. Big, noisy, busy!

Hello. Does anybody know if I can find, buy wine there ? Thanks. Marc from France
Written June 27, 2016
Hello Marc,
I doubt you can find any wine or other liquor here. SKA mall doesnt has "Foodhall" like other mall in Jakarta that sell wine or liquor. And there is no wine or liquor store in this mall tho. Not at all.
If you insist to buy some wine, something like Chateau La Perriere, Vin Mousseux, Jean-Louis Blanc, Juvé y Camp, Martell Cordon Bleu Cognac, Johnnie Walker and etc would definitely provide by some lounge bar at 4 star Hotel in Pekanbaru.
Cheers!
