This adventure was flawlessly executed. The entire team were organised, knowledgeable, friendly and fun. Special call out to Edy who ran the day and WAYAN , our 4wd guy. He was incredibly skilled. The whole experience fantastic. In terms of the actual trek, Do be aware it’s quite challenging, but not too long.

My wife and I booked the 4WD tour for the Mt Batur sunrise. We were picked up by Putu Kupit at exactly the time committed - 3 am from Seminyak. We arrived at the starting point and the 4WD jeeps arrived almost immediately. It's 2 people per jeep. And please take warm clothing, jackets and ear muffs as it does get really chilly, especially due to the breeze during the drive. The ride up the mountain is thrilling, even nerve wracking at times! Once you get to the top, it's a 30 mins wait until the sun comes up. The guides are very helpful in clicking pictures and even suggest poses and park the jeeps in sweet spots to get the best pictures. Once the sun was up, we then left for the Black lava point. The guide explains the backstory and how an entire village was wiped out due to the volcanic eruption. We collected a few Black lava stones and moved to the Batur Lake. At the warung, we were greeeted by a sweet lady who showed us to the table. The warung is right on the serene lake. On the one side, it's the mountain and you are on the other side of the lake. It's a blissful feeling to be sitting there sipping on hot coffee and eating delicious homely banana pancakes. Overall, the tour went much better than what we expected. Highly recommended for someone who doesn't trek too often or wants to try the thrill of riding on a 4WD

The sunrise hike was unlike any hike I've done before. If you can get past the early wake up call, you will not regret spending the early morning hours climbing Mt. Batur. Our guide, Leon, was very attentive to our group and took breaks as we needed them during the climb. He was knowledgeable about the area and was also happy to answer any other general questions about Bali. At the base, before the hike started the guides asked if any hikers wanted walking stick, we were unsure if we "needed" it-- let me tell you YES you want the walking stick!! The volcanic rock at some points during the hike is so light and lose it is hard to get uphill traction so the stick definitely helped :) Also when they recommend warm clothing/ jacket be prepared you will need it at the start and at the top, especially if the winds are blowing like they were for us. It was unreal to watch the sky go from near darkness to full sunrise. The viewpoint from where we watched allowed us to see the clouds changing shape and colour opposite from the sun and it was surreal. After sunrise our guides showed us where some of the “steam” from the volcano was coming out.

Edy and Gray were incredible and extremely accommodating! The entire trip was very scenic (especially the 4x4 drive at 3-4am, where you can see the stars above). When it got cold, Grey built us a nice small campfire to keep us warm on the mountain. The views were all gorgeous, if you're looking for a romantic scenic and beautiful background itinerary - this is perfect! The lake was definitely our favourite. The hotspring was a great way to sit back and relax. From Fauzi and Nina.
