This was an amazing morning of trekking up the volcano. But I have to say it is a lot harder then a lot of people make up, I am at the gym every day and still I was out of breath at some points. DO NOT buy/rent a warm jacket at the start as you will not need it as you soon warm up walking up the hill. I would recommend taking a light wind proof jacket in a bag for when you reach the top and wait for the sun.

Wayan Budiawan was an excellent guide who was very knowledgeable, entertaining, kind and extremely helpful throughout the hike. The view from the top of Mount Batur overlooking Mount Agung and Lake Batur was breathtaking and we would recommend every adventurous traveller to give this hike a go. Gede Artha, our driver was also excellent in taking us to an incredible breakfast spot with an unreal view and a coffee plantation with the best coffee I have ever tasted. We would give this tour 10/10 and it has been the highlight of our Bali trip!!!

The communication before each trip was very clear. Gede also sent me some pictures when I wanted some other details. It was very helpful.
We (me and my fiancée) did 2 trips with them and it was 5* experience. Both trips were with the best driver and most funny guy Putu A. We liked him very much.
1st trip was personalized based on places we wanted to see with 2 extra stops (suggested by Putu) for coffee (at beautiful plantation) and for lunch (at very amazing restaurant with breathtaking view and bufet food).
2nd trip was sunrise treking. It was very nice experience, we went at 2:30 from Ubud to the starting point. We were up on Batur 1 hour before the sunrise so we saw all the different colors of sky before sun comes. Afterwareds we went to amazing (!!!) breakfast, which was included in the price. Then we had rafting on Telaga Waja. It was almost 3 hours of good fun, we didn't paddle much, but it was a great fun. After that, we got a bufet lunch, the food was spicy, but fine. For this trip, we could also add hot springs and/or coffee plantation, but we decided to do just that.
To sum up, I will recommend this company to all my friends comming to Bali, because this company is great from the very 1st message to the last drop off at our hotel. All of it for very reasonable prices!

Everything was absolutely perfect, from the bottom to the top.
The trek is quite difficult but it’s an interesting adventure to do this by night.
When you arrive at the top you have a breakfast and you just have to wait for the show to begin. The sunrise on the Agung is incredible, pure moment of peace.
After that, you go on the crests and the landscape is breathtaking.
You also go near the crater and can test the steam coming from the rocks, as if you were in a sauna.
Then, you go down which is a nice time too, full of nature and calm.
I highly recommend this activity, even though there are lots of people.
Just don’t go on July or August but more on September.

I was disappointed with both my tour agency (Uma Kutuh Sunrise Trekking Tour) and my fellow trekkers. The issue with the tour company was that the guides leading us up the mountain didn't speak English so we didn't get a proper introduction to the climb or receive any information about the history and environment of the volcano and surrounding area. In addition, they couldn't communicate how much farther it was to the summit or how long we'd have once we reached it. Disappointing. And my group was disappointing, too. Even though they were half my age, they were horribly unfit and took a long time to climb, jeopardizing our chances of getting to the summit by sunrise. I ended up bailing on them so that I could hustle to the summit in time. It didn't help that the tour guides couldn't communicate how much farther they had to go. I guess it was worth it, but I do feel like I could have left it.

after discovered your post ,I'm very much sure that your name not in our list.
We don't have any booking under your name.
We only do Private tour, no multiple pick up from different guest's accommodation.
Book online directly to our website below mean we will deliver our services and promised.
Our services base on
Private car and private hiking guide separated with other group.
Using our service will pick starting point from less crowd which is located at eastern part of the volcano so not busy trek and less loose rock . Starting point from regular base will crowded especially at peak season (December to January ) and high season (July to September )
We provide buffet breakfast after the hike (about 20 minutes drive from base camp )not on the top except on special requests.
Once again booking with us free to wear jacket it's included in the prices.
Coffee or tea or hot chocolate on the top of the volcano also included in the prices.
No hidden costs.
This trekking is Doable and even easier when we provide private guide that could help you.
I hope we can meet up in the future to try one more adventure to hike mount batur from different start point.

I booked a private tour because I did not want to battle the crowds at sunrise nor the rain at sunset. We left at 7:00 am for the hike and had the mountain top completely to ourselves! Except for the monkeys, which were a bonus. My guide was Gede and he was excellent. He cooked me a breakfast of hard boiled egg sandwich over volcanic steam and fended off the monkeys while I ate it. It was a perfect day and I did not need to see the sunrise, the views were still beautiful.

We chose a private trek to the north east caldera rim with Seeksophie.com which uses a local guide to take 2 or 3 people each day on a private sunrise trek to a discrete local. You get the guide and sunrise all to yourself and enjoy the tranquility of the view. Breakfast provided at summit. The trek starts and ends with a boat trip across the crater lake. Fabulous trip.

We were amazed by the experience we got from Mount Batur Sunrise Tracking! We booked it just 6 hours before the pickup at our hotel, amazing quick service😁
The Driver Wayan Sileb was a very nice to guy have as a driver :) He made sure we were awake by whatsapping us and was on time for the pickup. He told us a lot of interesting facts about Bali during the car trip to the starting point and the return to the hotel.
The sunrise hike is just WAUW! It was our first private tour ever due to the fact that we made a very last minute booking so we had nog choise, but we loved it! I would recommend doing it all the time, it is totally worth the cost.
Tono (Gede) was our guide and he put a lot of effort in guiding us. Was good English speaking and hat a lot of things to tell and show us.
We did a lot of things that group tours just skip, like walking al the way around the top of the volcano after seeing the sunset. The views after the sunset were amazing and we really would not wanted to miss that. He also made a lot of beautiful pictures of us.
Conclusion: Mount Batur Sunrise Tracking is really really nice to do the Batur Sunrise Tracking with, just Amazing 🌋. Totally worth it and you will never regret. And off course you are extra lucky with Tono as guide and Wayan as driver;)

Highly recommend booking with Mount Bature Sunrise Trekking! Yes, there is an early wake up time, but experience is SO WORTH IT⛰🌄 Shoutout to our guide, Jerokembar for cheering us on the entire way. He also talked to other hiking groups, spreading positivity all along the trail. He served us a yummy breakfast, let us take as many breaks as we needed, took great photos and videos, and shared about Balinese culture with us. Picked up very promptly by putu who was happy and got us there no problem.
Ketut Mangku was our guide who was incredible! Went at our pace, ensured we had an amazing view, took some amazing photos for us, where he knows how to work nature into the shots, and gave us loads of information about the area and mountain.
Would hugely recommend Ketut to anyone, specifically ask for him if you are thinking of doing this trip!

I’m not really fit but I’m not out shape either. It was a moderate to difficult hike. I booked a private guide, the price difference wasn’t that much, so I could go at my own pace and take breaks as needed. Only took about 90 minutes to reach the top. Definitely doable if you’re surefooted. Hope this helps!

I'm looking to book the hike and the coffee plantation however my hotel isn't available in the pick up option. I've had a look and the hotel across the street is on the list and wondering if i could just book it for there and walk across. I will be staying at Villa Sonia Ubud.
