We hired a day long cab service from ubud and drove to more than an hour to reach Kintamani highlands. We basically just ate a mediocre and over priced lunch at a cafe which offered amazing scenery and the trip was still worth doing. The view has two volcano, a lake and cloud shadows and its magnificent. The Kintamani trip... More

Very peacefully, relaxing and good weather. Personally i enjoy the cooling air and the beautiful view and i do not mind to stay longer there. I am sure to go back there again but i won't order any food as the food served at the restaurant i went is really nasty. The coffee is served with spoiled milk too. I... More

Really beautiful views of the mountain with lava flows onto lowland. Lake in the middle of the mountain is amazing.

Kintamani and its location oberlooking lake Batur and the volcanos is beautiful. However paying 30,000 idr per person and 5,000 for the car to even access the road is generally twice as expensive as most of the temples on Bali, even Tirta Empul and Gunung Kawi, both on the way (15,000 each). Difficult to find non halal or non buffet... More

View is amazing, so huge and incredible to see people living amongst an active volcano. It's definitely worth a trip to view it at least, but watch out for the peddlers at the top and entrance fees for who knows what.

The Kintamani Outlook / Viewing Platform is a nice place to go for beautiful views of Mount Batur and Lake Batur. But better still would have been had we decided to actually go up the mountain which apparently is not very difficult. The only downside is that you start your day tour at around midnight so that you're up on... More

Head down to Kintamani which is a village located at the western edge of Mount Batur. Several restaurants lined the road, normally buffet style, 1 price for lunch roughly around 200k-300k rupiah excluding drinks. These restaurants will have views of Mount Batur & Lake Batur at various angles, food wise average, not much expectation, just filling up the stomach.
