Was picked up & driven politely to Mt Batur lookout after visiting an interesting coffee & tea plantation. Tasted their selection of teas & coffees but didn’t buy anything & wasn’t hassled to do, which was nice! I had a really insightful tour guide who took me on the “difficult” version of their tour, which wasn’t hard at all, a bit tricky maybe...but it was really easy riding. Was introduced to a local village family & was told about their traditions & customs, making the trip quite unique. At the end of the ride I was treated to a great lunch of local dishes & a drink ... I was then taken back to hotel through many other villages. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a unique insight into the Bali way of life.

I never got round to posting a review 🙈 but whilst we were in Bali we did a full day tour with Awesome BALI Cycling 🚴
You get to choose from 4 different morning activities (we chose the Water Temple) and then in the afternoon you go on an amazing 20KM bike ride through rice fields in Ubud, finishing off with a visit to a nearby waterfall and then food at the Owners Restaurant located in his house .. We also sampled the famous Kopi Luwak ☕️ and visited a compound to see how the Balinese people live. Breakfast/Brunch and Dinner were included in the price plus all photos/videos sent to you free of charge. At the house there is an information sheet telling you how the business came to fruition. It is a heartwarmingly beautiful yet somewhat sad story and bought a tear to my eye.The cycling was really easy as it’s mainly downhill. I have to be honest, when my husband mentioned it, I wasn’t really invested in the idea 🙈 but we had BEST day 🥰 Our guide Sangtu Buki was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable, super friendly and his English is incredible.
I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone. Memories that will last a lifetime ❤️

Booked a Temple Tour as this company had excellent reviews and they did not disappoint! They picked me and my son up on the dot. Our first stop was Tirta Empul followed by a pit stop at a cafe. Then it was on to choose our bikes. I had not ridden a bike for like 20 years so was wobbly at the start but after a few mins it comes back to you. The first part of the ride was on main roads and my kid was not confident so our guide Wayan stopped and voiced his concerns and in the end my teenager rode behind Wayan. All the way!!! For 16km!!! And my kid is not light! After a while we broke off from the main roads to meander through side roads through villages and padi fields. Just beyootiful! We even stopped by the road to see spiders and a sit down in the middle of a padi field for a break. Most of the ride was downhill and the brakes were excellent. For a totally unfit person like me, it was very doable. Jelly legs and a little sore in the tush but all good. We even stopped and went into a typical Balinese house to see how it was structured. Really amazing insights from Wayan on Balinese life. Last stop was a waterfall. Unfortunately the water was a but murky due to rains. Finally we had our well deserved delish lunch at Poni’s own house. Overall, I cannot recommend this company enough! You will certainly be well well taken care of! Kudos Awesome Bali Cycling and keep up the more than awesome work! Love you guys!!!

Been to Bali numerous times but this was a great way to really see it. Really well organised, stopped at lewak coffee house but also offered teas for those who don’t drink coffee! Then banana pancake (delish) at mount batur before starting bike ride. Not fit but managed to do most of it with ease. Had help with hills! Lovely finish at water fall before a lovely lunch. Plenty of water stops. One of the best experiences I have ever done in Bali

Hands down one the best days travelling I have ever experienced
Took two of my kids on the day trip to Ubud (aged 18 and 11)
We chose the Water Temple as a starting point. World heritage listed, we were lucky enough to have Buki show us around "his backyard"
The 2.5 hour ride starts off at a local school on the NE side of Ubud. My daughter loved interacting with the grade three and five girls. My son was challenged to arm wrestle some of the boys. Memories they will forever remember!
The ride itself winds its way through numerous villages, each with its own nuances
I will remember the smells of each village (burning off, tobacco, animals etc , and also passing through one that was in the middle of a funeral procession
Buki and John were excellent guides and so accomodating along the way. They took so many videos of us and kept us safe on the roads at all times
We finished off the only hill climb with a swim in the Kanto Lompo Waterfall and then lunch in the founders restaurant. Beautiful food!
Highly highly recommend to riders of all abilities

What an awesome experience it was to ride through and experience the day in the life of the Balinese people. We were picked up (on time) by our driver, a very friendly and accomodating local who was friendly, helpful and informative.
We drove from Nusa Dua to Ubud picking up another couple on the way, making a group of 6.
Stop 1 was - The Rice terraces was a tourist attraction made up of beautiful rice terraces, an unbelievable pool layout, walking tracks, sculptures, coffee tasting and addition attractions.
Stop 2 was - morning tea amounts a rice farm, a simple choice of food and drink to give you an energy boost be for the ride.
Stop 3 was the cycling, we were met by a group of friendly and helpful Balinese guides who could not have been more helpful, no matter your riding experience they were there to help, amounts many other helpful occurrences i remember looking at my daughters who was struggling to cycle up one of the very few up hill sections, the guide had hoped off his bike, ran past me with bike in hand, grabbed my daughters bike and pushed her up the hill… they will do anything for the guests…
We stopped enough times to rest, see the sites, experience a traditional Balinese house hold, learnt a lot about the Hindu life, history and beliefs.
Then at the end of the ride you were met by an dream setting of a waterfall. Everything provided, towels, cold water bottles, change rooms and photographs by the guides. Nothing was to much trouble.
The last stop was lunch, a beautifully fresh meal, safe for all to eat and prepared by friendly accomodating staff.
This is a must do on your list, i wish I could score a 10.
We left Nusa Dua at 7:15am and returned at 6:45pm.

From contact to drop off at the end of the trip, ABC were professional, helpful and AWESOME!
As a group of 9- 5 adults and 4 children, the company ensured our trip was tailored specifically to accommodate our needs.
We were picked up promptly from our accomodation- taken to a rice terrace where the children experienced an adventure swing . We were then driven to a quaint restaurant in the paddy fields where we dined on delicious fruit and pancakes.
The bike trip then followed. There was a large number of bikes available including adult bikes with child seats and smaller bikes for our 10 year olds.
The bike ride was lush- and we had 2 guides with us, who were extremely safety conscious, whilst ensuring we enjoyed the trip. It was a reasonably easy decline all the way through beautiful paddy fields and local villages. We stopped to explore and learn about compound living and a little insight into the faith and culture of the Balinese.
The bike ride ended at a beautiful waterfall, which we enjoyed experiencing, then onto a delicious meal at the owners compound.
We cannot recommend this company enough, and look forward to returning for another amazing experience.

The bike ride was exceptional, fun was had by all of the family members. Allowed us to experience some of the culture and the tour guides were great. Both Kadiks were funny and patient. We rate very highly of this tour and recommend it for all. Great value for money.

This is the best tour we have done in Bali. Our guide Kadek was amazing and explained a lot of the Balinese culture. It was such a great experience riding through the local villages and rice paddys. We felt very privileged to be able to go into a Balinese family house. A very well organised tour. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn about life in Bali.

We had a great day out with Awesome Bali Cycling. Wayan was our leader, such a knowledgeable man and Kadek as his very kind assistant. Myself, hubby & our 3 teens, I am the unfit and extra cautious member of the family who was apparently a little slow! Kadek rode with me and kept me safe while the others went on ahead. He was so very patient, encouraging and fit - pushing me up hills. We experienced rice terraces, luwak coffee, a spectacular waterfall, local villages & a local home not to mention the magnificent countryside of Bali and the beautiful people living there. All this was topped off by lunch at the family restaurant - the best Mie Goreng of the entire trip. If we are lucky enough to come back to Bali we will be doing another tour with these guys. It was a very special day and well worth the very reasonable cost.

How much extra travel time to the volcano view, and is it worth it, we trying to decide between rice terrace tour and kintamani!
Written October 26, 2019
Viewing volcano was included but entire day trip took longer. Nothing is rushed they allow you to take your time your on Bali time.

We are looking for a tour on 29th or 30th May for 7 people. I mother is 72 and not a confident rider. Is there any chance she can ride in the support vehicle so gets to see the culture. This is her first trip to Bali. You might have other ideas. Let me know and cost per person. Thanks Jen
Written April 24, 2018
Hi - yes she will be able to sit in the support vehicle (which is also air conditioned) and still see everything that you will see as you do the bike ride.
Written April 28, 2018
Hi, we are staying in seminyak and would like to do the bike tour down hill, is it possible to have a few hours in Ubud before we get taken back to seminyak. We have done the coffee plantation twice before so don't really need that. Also how much would it be. Thanks Heather
Written August 11, 2017
Hi Heather, sorry I have only just seen your questions.
If you haven't already been I would suggest making contact with the company, they were really helpful and accommodating and I'm sure they could sort something for you.
From memory the day coat us $50 each. It was the best trip we have done in Bali so far.

My daughter is 11 and not a confident rider. Can she get a tandum type bike to ride with her father? Thanks
Written April 19, 2017
We have tandem bikes and dinky bikes available. She can ride with dad the entire time or If she wants to try to ride on her own and switch to a bike with dad during the ride she can as we have a truck that follows the entire way with bikes on it.
