Yun, her family and his team form a winning match. I stayed in November 2019 and Yun and his collaborator Juli organized my photo-reportage in Central Kalimantan. I can only recommend them. I felt at home, I was able to eat with them and explore incredible places. In a nutshell, I can't wait to go back!

We did research in Palangka Raya and Yun was our tour guide. She along with the Central Borneo Guide prepared our trip very well. Yun is very communicative and able to convey information very clearly, especially about wildlife in Borneo and Dayak culture. With Yun, we feel the warmth and local wisdom of the people. We highly recommend Yun and Central Borneo Guide to arrange your journey to explore the island of Borneo.

All the last minute planning can only happen with the help of Yun and the BCG team!!! We went to Tanjung Puting National Park for a two-night trip on a very comfortable 'klotok' with a very skilled captain. This is probably one of the most relaxing yet very informational trip I've ever been too. I have learned so much from Yun—not only about Kalimantan but also how to travel more respectfully and consciously. Can't wait to plan my next trip and see more of Kalimantan with BCG!!!

We hired David Metcalf as a photographic guide on several trips. This was our first tour with him, and WOW, was it a winner!

What you are able to see may vary from what we saw, based on dates and available activities. (We went during the Festival Budaya Isen Mulang in late May, which I highly recommend).

However, it is clear that David keeps your schedule full, with full flexibility if you decide to sit one out (I was too exhausted and did skip one event). You will not be wishing for more though, I assure you !

Our experience with Central Borneo Guide is not short of outstanding. We never experienced such an authentic and sustainable adventure (and we did our fair share). Central Borneo Guide is everything we were looking for: Fair wage and redistribution to local communities, genuine connections with the local culture, limited amount of visitors/tourists, protection & preservation of the environment, all with a unique and tailored experience in Sebangau National park and Keruing Village and amazing guides.

Yun and Bima’s kindness and knowledge were exceptional. They were very open in sharing, and we ended up having very interesting and meaningful conversations about the threats to the environment in Borneo and the Dayak culture.

Yun’s vision to create the most meaningful experience for visitors and the locals alike is one of a kind and we hope more guides and tour agencies will follow her example.

If you are looking for a meaningful experience while minimising your footprint, look no further. Central Borneo Guide is the place to go.

What a great day in Sebangau National Park. Yun organised the trip very efficiently for the day after we met. Thank you for that!
Irfan has been a great guide and helped us understand the interesting things that Agi, the local guide in the park, explained to us. Every tree and plant in the forest had and has its use among the Dayak people and it was a privilege to learn some of those. And we also drank directly from the trees, just like the hunters used to do! Before heading back, we swam in the black river. What a magical and refreshing moment after the forest trekking. Thank you guys!

I was recommended this agency by the local business partner. I had individual 1 day tour which was perfectly organized! My guide Julie was very attentive, full of knowledge, interesting stories. She helped to understand how much is done now in order to save orangutans population. After seeing the monkeys, which was amazing, we went to the National Park for tracking. Even though because of the flood we could not do it deep in the Jungles, but still it was a great experience even to get there by boat, walkingin mangrove forest.
But,of course watching orangutans in almost wild life was an exciting experience which I never forget! We even saw orangutan-dady was sharing the food with his partner, who had a new baby born child! I will never forget it and strongly recommend to go there! Even it worth a special trip for couple of days to Kalimantan!

I went to Palangkaraya 3 days ago, & decided to use a tour guide on my last day to explore Bukit Tangkiling. I was a bit worried at first, because it was a private tour package (I was in Palangkaraya by myself) and I needed to be with someone I didn't know at all for a day. But thankfully the guide was very friendly. He is also a 'Travel & Hospitality' graduate from the best University in Jakarta, Indonesia. He knows what he's doing, & equipped me with a lot of informations & stories about the places as we explore Tangkiling and the rest of Palangkaraya. He was on time, and polite too. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service, and will totally use this guide again if I come to Palangka. Thank you!

I went to Plangkaraya for 4 days. While I was there I took the day tour which included seeing the Orangutans, jungle trek, and watching the traditional Dayak dancers. I thought that 1.7m rupiah was a little expensive, but since there was only two people on the tour, the cost made sense. First, you were taken to Rungan river were you were taken to feeding stations for the Orangutans. You were able to view the Orangutans from the boat since the reserve was protected. Then, we went to another river and traveled up river for 1 hour, had lunch which Yun provided, then we trekked through the jungle for two hours. after that went back and drove to Dayak Traditional Dance studio. We watched a great performance by Dayak young men and women who want to keep the Dayak tradition alive. It ended up being a full day and I think it is well worth the money. Plus, Yun is Dayak and gives you insight into Dayak culture. If you think about all the costs that Yun has to incur (rent two boats and driver, car and driver, lunch, park fees, park donations in your name, donation to Dayak dancers, local jungle guide) the price is very reasonable. In addition, this is not one of those cheap generic tours that you would get in Bali.
