There are 4 kinds of fish in there that I pulled out of the water. Carp, two kinds of catfish and some other smaller ones. Be careful if you go with your own gear! One was big enough to pull my rod out of my hands and cut the line with one bite. Lost a few hooks before changing the line. The food is passable and drinks are cold. There is always a nice breeze even on hot days. Very comfortable.

Really a beautiful place and fair prices. Been there two times now. But watch out for thiefs!!! They work in a 2-3 group and they will steal your wallet content. If a familie with a child is fishing and he approachs you, tell him to go away. The child will try to make "friends" with you and fish next to you like a normal social kid on a holiday with his family. But he will only have bad intentions, this is a trick and he will steal your wallet if the opportunity is there. So if anyone sits next to you or approaches you, tell them to go away or find a new spot.

Food are quite good and relatively cheap. Wind breeze are intense and comfy. Most of the fish are mozambique tilapia and flathead catfish. You can use pole and bait provided but catfish are easier to get if you got your own tackle and reach the center of the pond. It's better to bring your own meaty bait / liver if you wish to catch catfish not for long time. Average size are 1-4 pounds but I bet some fish are bigger than that because I got one quite big recently.

We visited Hai Luc fishing club today and thoroughly enjoyed it, not much more to add to "jonbvn's" review other than the there is a small charge of around $1.50 for your first ball of bait and then subsequent bait balls are only $0.15 and should last you a good 45 mins. Also the toilets leave a lot to be desired so the lady's may want to empty their bladders before they arrive! I only caught one little fish but saw 4 or 5 around 2kg being pulled out by the guys with their own rods who can reach the centre of the pond where the big boys seem to hang out. Didn't try the food (put my tiddler back) but it did smell very good. Plenty of westerners when we were there and they do have a smattering of English.

Consists of two large stocked ponds full of fish. The owners provide basic bamboo poles and bait for a small charge, or you can bring your own rod and reel. I have caught fish here up to 2kg in weight - although this is exceptional. Kids seem to love this place. Be careful though since the water is about 1m deep. You can cook the fish you catch, although this is optional. I would recommend the steam boat. Cold beer is available to keep you cool throughout the day!
