Popped in here as it opened at 5pm and was great to watch the sunset and have a few beers.

We decided to have pizza and fries, good choice as hot and tasty, large pizza is ultra large.

Very British cliental and a large selection of drinks to choose from. Recommend for a vibrant bar in the harbour area.

First visit to Cask and it happened to be the launch of two for one Cocktail week with live music. A welcoming atmosphere, professional friendly staff with great service, air conditioned and smoke-free indoors. Not to worry those of you who do smoke, the outdoor balcony is spacious and has a lovely view of Front Beach.

Thoroughly enjoyed the teriyaki chicken wings with the spicy add on and observed other patrons enjoying an array of food from the menu.

Definitely worth a visit and owner Damian Kilroy has done himself proud by providing an establishment that is a cut above others in the Vung Tau area.

You won't find another bar like this in Vungtau. It's clear that Nguyen and Damian at Cask are not only dedicated to providing excellent products, but creating a unique experience. As far as the beer goes, you won't be disappointed. The variety is great for those looking for something different and all the styles are solid. A great addition to the craft scene.

Beers were great, had an ale and a strong Belgian dark IPA, the Belgian was pretty strong.
But the bar was dead, no one in and for a Saturday night, this was pretty disappointing........
Sat out at balcony, enjoyed the beers, but with no atmosphere left......

I've been off and on in Vung Tau for many times, and finally have reached the limit of my tolerance of the people’s dishonest pricing over customers here. When we showed up at this bar around 10:30 p.m. on Feb 3, 2019 and were asked to buy entrance tickets for the bands that were played since 8:30 p.m. We were informed by the ticket seller, who claimed herself later as one of the bar owners at the door, that the band was almost finished playing and she was giving us a discount of 50% to go in. She said we had to pay for our own drinks out of the entrance tickets we paid. We never questioned her hospitality until we discovered on their fanpage that one ticket which costed 100,000 VND would come with a complimentary craft beer drink while we were tricked to pay the money which equals to one ticket price but were not given a ticket and thus got nothing included.

I see nothing wrong with a seller being flexible in giving their customers a discount. However, I do see something entirely wrong with hiding the rules on pricing. To be clear, this underhanded practice reflects poorly only on the Viet people especially when it comes to selling a service or goods. The average Viet does not practice such dishonesty. Therefore I urge myself to post it on here and everyone to boycott this dishonest practice until this dishonest practice is discontinued.

The next thing we experienced at this bar was the slow service. They should look to boost their venue by not only to the quality of the beer or the complexity of the cocktails on their list, but just to be nice and honest to their customers and hurry up with the damn drinks. We ordered two drinks, one of them was a beer from the taps and one cocktails. We got a cold platter of peanuts coming straight from the freezer and had to wait for more than 35 minutes and had to remind 2 times to get our drinks which were completely easy to make.

Their dishonest and the slow service are the key driver in our negative reviews. We tried it one time and definitely won’t go back. People has already complained in the U.S. if their drink is just 10 minutes later while here we had to wait our life and had to give words to the owner for our drinks!

Hi Kylie, First of all, thank you for the considerable time you have taken to post about your experience at Cask. Regarding the slow service, we apologise. I spoke with you that night, apologised and explained that a new keg had just been put on, and that it was pouring very foamy. This occasionally happens with craft beers and takes a while to settle until the beer pours through properly. For the cocktails, we had several orders of cocktails at that time so there was a queue, resulting in the lengthy time it took to get your drink. That said, our staff should have communicated this and we are working on establishing a protocol for any time where there is an issue or delay in getting drinks to customers. We were very busy that night with 70 people in the bar and only 3 staff working the bar because of Tet, so with cocktail orders and a foamy keg, it meant delays in service. We are proud of our staff but occasionally, they do make mistakes (as do we all). I did apologise for the delay at the time and when I went back to the bar to check on your drinks, the staff brought them over straight away. We welcome all constructive criticism as it helps us to improve our service. It was my wife and co-owner that you met upon entry. To accuse her or people in Vung Tau of being dishonest is completely inaccurate and insulting. I respect my wife because I know the kind of person she is. As a foreigner living in Vietnam, I also respect the Vietnamese people and their culture. If we made a mistake, and sometimes we do, we certainly would not try and hide anything or be underhand. That's the reality. The facts are; we charged 100k per ticket per person from 8pm. This ticket included 1 free drink (per person). Once the band started their last 1hr set (around 10.20pm) we reduced entry to just 50k per person but this didn't include a free drink, so no ticket was issued. We normally do this at all our live shows (for over 2 years) if people turn up during the second half. There are no 'couples deals' where if 2 people pay 50k each, they get 1 free drink between them. Never have we promised or promoted that anywhere, as we just don't do it. If it was me at the door, I would have told you exactly the same thing and would you still have called me dishonest even though I am from the UK? All of your entrance fee was donated to The Blue Dragon Children's Foundation here in Vietnam, who help kids in crisis in your country, so we thank you for that. There were 60 people who paid full price 100k per ticket that night and 9 other people who arrived around the same time as yourself, who paid the same entrance fee as yourself (50k each - which was donated to charity) and we received no other complaints. Although we aim to please all our customers, I guess that old saying, 'you can't please all the people all of the time' rings true. We did try and call you the other day but couldn't get through and left my number in case you wanted to discuss the matter. It's a great shame that you have vowed never to return to Cask, it really is. As I mentioned, we are working on improving our speed of service during busy times and making sure customers are kept informed of any issues. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Kind Regards Damian Kilroy

Vung Tau has dozens of bars however most of them are the same style serving the same drinks aimed at tourists or local expats looking for some adventure.....
Cask on the the other hand is offering a different experience. Yes its a proper bar offering amount other things craft beer from HCMC. It has a nice relaxing appeal and extremely friendly and helpful staff coupled with a terrace that you can sit watching the world go by with an icy cold glass of Fuzzy Logic or Pasteur IPA what else could you ask for? Prices are reasonable and they have a great happy hour promotion. Definitely worth a visit and I will certainly be back on my next trip.

Went here after hearing there was craft beer available in Vung Tao. I was lusting after a good IPA. Delighted we made the trip to Damian and Nguyen's great spot. Lovely couple and delicious cold craft beer from Saigon. Well worth a trip if you're in town.

Highly recommended!
A must visit bar whether you're a Vung Tau resident or just passing through. Ran by a lovely English / Vietnamese couple, they serve all the usual beers but with a few extras which you can't get anywhere else in Vung Tau.
Good music with a great balcony to enjoy some sun-downers on - personal favourite is the Jasmine IPA. Nice, easy vibe to the place...

Went there for beer specialities. Sadly all beers from tap were not available. Luckily there were good options from the bottle. I really enjoyed East West Dark and the chili beer was an great experience!
