A wide expanse of sand and a lot of locals offering various products or services along the beach front. BE CAREFUL where you sit and where you go on that beach, stay away from the secluded areas where you may think is good for a quiet romantic afternoon or evening as these are the areas that the drug users go to. You can find needles and rubbish in these areas. They go here as they can see anyone approaching and can push the needles under the sand to escape detection. Best to be on the main beach area that has lots of people.

Great beach, nice waves, good breezes, friendly locals and a small kiters community.
A very affordable destination.

A very nice white sand beach in Vung Tau commonly referred to as "Back Beach". Must be aware of the dangers of the rips and heavy waves at times and never go there on a weekend which is when the Saigonese travel down to Vung Tau in droves to escape the city heat and hustle bustle, is difficult to even find a spot to put your towel sometimes but through the week is no problem.

We pay a cheap hotel in the little streets and for the day we pay a daily pass in the Imperial beach club: 250kdong weekly days and 350kdong saturday and sunday. It really worth it! Showers, the pool is fantastic, towels included! Get a front line sunbeds if you are there before 09:00. Open at 07:00 but restaurant only open at 10:00. We get our breakfast for 100kdongs in the restaurant just on the side walking through the beach after reserved our sunbeds. Drinks and food are good and prices are correct. Staff is extremely nice, of course and speaks english. Get a luxury beach club without paying the full hotel price! 😉

Back Beach or Bai Sau in Vietnamese, is a long (8 km) fine sandy beach, much cleaner now-days than 10 years back. The beach’ width can vary from a couple of meters to 100 m with the tide. The sea water is not so clean because of the muddy waters coming of Saigon river estuary some 25 km away, but is perfect for swimming any month of the year. In the week end the beach is flooded with Saigones, there are plenty hotels on Back Beach suitable for any pocket and many restaurants specialized in sea food.

The beach was only a short walk from our hotel, we found the beach and surrounding area very clean with plenty of eateries to choose from. There are plenty of beach activities at a cost of course.but that's ok.

The beach could be nice, but it is too dirty. Since serveral years I am often there, but it is not becoming better. Really a pity.
