no big thing, this museum. but entrance is free, and during the heat at noon, it is a cool place to hide away. therefore still worth the visit.

Fantastic Exhibition
Dec 2019 • Business
A great walk through time in Vietnam. Well put together and ordered to give visitors a good understanding of the history of Vietnam, albeit maybe a little controversial in later events!

Good collection of artefacts and documentation of history
Nov 2019 • Friends
Visited the museum on a Saturday night, (yes! Opened till 9pm), many interesting collection of artefacts, though the presentation of the documentation seems outdated, the information is useful to know the history of Can Tho. The collection ranges from weapons used during the French period and clothes & furniture worn, ancient Chinese influence was seen. Portraits of leaders were prominently placed with brief history. This museum is close to many coffee outlets.

Sufficient english
May 2019 • Couples
FREE admission.

There was sufficient English to make this interesting.

I was in here for 45 minutes.

The Military/Army Museum was very close by with an airconditioned cafe. We were struggling with the May heat!

No translation for some displays
May 2019 • Solo
There is no entrance fee for the museum. The exhibits are quite interesting, related with the local. However, some of the displays have no English translation.

Worth a look. Not much written English
May 2019 • Solo
Museum is over 2 levels. Not open everyday so check times on attached photo. It was worth looking at and no doubt has some good exhibits that are very old but unfortunately most are undated. The date they were discovered is displayed but not the dates of the artifacts. I read Vietnamese better than most learners but with no English translations it was too hard. You don’t know what you’re looking at unless it’s obvious.

There is a phone number (attached photo) of the museum to arrange a guide and if I went again I would be arranging that prior.

There is no entrance fee. Allow u to an hour even if you don’t have a translator or guide.

Can Tho History in Detail
Jul 2018 • Couples
Very few history museums keep me interested for more than an hour, but this is one of them. Spanning hundreds of years you got a real sense for the history of the city, all the difficulties the people endured, how they fared during different occupations and wars, and also the things they did to make the city a great one.
The museum covered every topic you could think of relating to the city, and it was done thoroughly and with great explanations. I could have spent more time there, it was that detailed!

Can Tho museum visit
May 2018 • Solo
Free admission, small museum, many old photos of the Vietnam war, reflecting the US military operations in the Mekong Delta. Small boats used to patrol the small but numerous waterways in the Delta. Few of the exhibits have English translation.
Museum contains many old objects used in everyday life of locals, back then this was a farming area.

Worth a visit but not much in English
Jan 2018 • Couples
A small museum in a reasonably interesting building. Lots of old and oldish implements and things to look at, lots of old imagery. Unfortunately only about half the museum has English translations for displays. It is free, so definitely worth a visit if you are not stuck for time. Al at leavetoroam.com.

Not big but worthwhile

Currently including a special exhibition being 50 years from the TET offensive in 1968 this museum is an interesting peek into the 20c history of the delta. Some but not all captions are in English.
