My husband and I spent a really good time with Thoai during our food tour in Can Tho. We had great food at very good price. We learnt a lot about Vietnamese food thanks to this guy who was very friendly and at the same time very professional, speaking a very good English. The group was made of only 4 people so that everybody could partecipate very easily. Very very recommended!!

We highly recommend that free streetfood tour. The guide speaks very good english and answers all your questions about food, culture & people. Very interesting. He chooses excellent streetfood with special dishes and he adaptes the tour if you have any special wishes. You pay for the food that you eat - between 10'000 and 70'000 VND. In the end you choose how much tip you give to the guide. The tour is very authentic and I'm sure that you will enjoy a lot.
Thank you so much for everything.

Perfect evening. We ate delicious (and not expensive) meals during the tour in places that we couldn’t find otherwise. Our guide, Thoai was professional and knowledgeable, but easygoing and friendly as well, so it was like chatting with a friend.

This was an excellent tour - exploring back streets of Can Tho and finding cafés and street vendors that filled our tummies with great local specialities. The guide was knowledgable about the food, the town and the Mekong delta. His English was very good and we discussed many things. I highly recommend this outing.

This was a free tour but with about a $5 tip to the guide at the end...but it was worth every penny...

We did the amble around town stopping at local haunts eating and drinking the local fare...you pay for what you eat only and the food is really cheap and tasty...

As an example we had:

Re tranh - a local juice tasting a little of corn
Nem nuong -a BBQ pork wrap thing
Banh cong - a savoury muffin style dish
Tau xu txo - a tofu and pork clay pot
Ca txo - an eggplant and pork clay pot
Ecx - BBQ frog

All finished off with sweet sticky rice

Awesome...

I travelled with my boyfriend and my sister to Can Tho the last 2nd September 2013, and even if it was public holiday in Vietnam, EDEN our vietnamese guide took us around Can Tho city to enjoy the best and cheapest food in town.
We had some tofu and beef snacks (and some tipical teas) before heading to our "NEM NUONG" dinner: Amazing and healthy food street rolled up in rice paper and dip in sauce. We could enjoy l the real local can tho beer, and we finished with the best smoothies next to the river side.
The food was great, but greater was the company. EDEN is a reliable and friendly girl with very good english and a huge knowledge of her country, her region and its food that will make you enjoy and learn about it.
The tour is free and you only have to pay what you eat and give some tip at the end of it if you liked it. It's a great way to eat as a vietnamese, with a vietnamese :D

For the first time I saw and ate elephant ear fish. It is a famous dish coughs in freshwater. The name is derived from its look like an elephant’s ear. This fish is deep fried at high temperature with the scales on. After cooking the scales are removed and the fish is crispy outside and moist inside. Good fish!

We had a great evening thanks to our guide Thoai who was also our guide on our Mekong Floating Market tour the next day. Thanks to Thoai's perfect English and his interests in many subjects it was a highly interesting evening that provided us at least a small insight into Vietnamese life. Food wise we discovered places and food that would have been impossible for us to find on our own. That evening was another highlight for us on our Vietnam vacation.

We had a great time on this food tour with. Our guide Thoai was very entertaining and he speaks very good English. We went to 4 different places and got to try loads of different local specialties typical for Can Tho. The meals are not expensive, we spent about $5 per person during the evening including 2 beers, plus $5 each as a tip for Thoai. Overall a great evening and I'd definitely recommend.

This tour was fantastic! I've already taken a food tour in Saigon, so I wasn't sure if it would feel repetitive, but with Thoai we tried completely different foods, so even if you've already spent some time in Vietnam and tried loads of food, on this tour you'll get to sample some food typical for this region, which you can't get in other parts of the country. Everything we tried was delicious and we learned so much about food culture in Southern Vietnam. We also got to chat about life in Vietnam in general, a great insight into Vietnamese culture, customs and traditions. The value for money is outstanding, and even with all the food you're trying and tip for Thoai you'll spend less than US$10. Thanks Thoai for the best night in Can Tho!
