- MarcusHurleyCalne, United Kingdom10,628 contributionsWonderfully photogenic madrassaI decided to visit Chor Minor Madrasa because it looked amazingly photogenic, having four turquoise domed minarets. I negotiated a price with a lady driving one of the little electric tourist buggies by the Kalon Mosque and off we went. It was interesting drive through some very much back streets but we arrived at the minaret after maybe 10 minutes and I walked around the outside. The pool next to the minaret was empty but the rose garden was pretty and the minaret was as gorgeous as expected and there were very few people there so it was easy to take photos. There was someone looking over the parapet so I guess you can climb up to the roof if you want to although there wasn't much nearby to see.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten October 20, 2023

- HelenjenBrisbane, Australia896 contributionsOur favourite of 14 days of minarets!Just when we thought we had seen all the best madrasahs, mosques, mausoleums and minarets in 14 days travelling the incredible sites of Uzbekistan....here was our favourite, in the back streets of Bukhara. The rich beautiful turquoise colour contrasting with the stonework, and storks adorning one of them....just beautiful! Have read that this is the only place to see four such minarets together....not sure about that, but highly recommend a visit and photo or two.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten February 26, 2024

- TravelingAmosNew Jersey870 contributionsFour MinaretsThis was the first site we saw in Bukhara as it was nearly directly behind our hotel. Our tour guide explained to us that the four minarets represent the four daughters of the ruler who had it built. Not sure if that is true, but I was fooled by the storks, which apparently left Bukhara after pools in the city were drained.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 2, 2024

Nest view is from outside. You have to pay to enter upstairs. Old mosque area on the side.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 21, 2024

A very underwhelming building . Yes it looks grand with 4 domes but that is about it . Worth only a 10 minute stop taking pics at an angle . The entire building is occupied by a souvenir shop so it is essentially an overly decorated souvenir shop . As it is 10 minute walk from the other sites , it is to me not a worthwhile site .

It’s a very small structure, that too not located in the historical centre. Explored it since I had time. Minarets are cute however stork on one of the minarets is an eye sore, don’t know why it was made or added later ! Small souvenir shop is located inside, outside there is an antique shop. Go there only if you have time.

It is a pretty structure, the original mosque for a madrassa that is long gone. It now is a shop with local artifacts and souvenirs. One of the towers has stairs to the roof, but there is really now view to speak of. Although a mosque, you can find Christian, Buddhist, Zoroastrian and Islamic motifs. Very picturesque, so good for a few nice photos, but the shop, the shoddy workmanship on the stairs and the cement storks on the roof take away the authenticity.

This is a small four turreted styled madrassah.
They have a small shop inside and there is access to the roof but I wouldn't bother going up as there is nothing to see from the roof.
It's unusual so worth a short photo stop.

Situated in a back street, just outside of the center (but we could still walk), this is a little gem. I did not go inside, as you have to go thru a souvenir shop (and did not feel like doing it), but overall it was well worth the visit. It is possible to climb some stairs and go onto the roof. My travel buddy did that, but there was not so much to see.

Tourist photos do it a disservice as they make it seem like this huge building. In fact, it is quite small, though beautiful. Love the color.
It was not possible to get inside, so we just snapped some photos outside. There is a souvenir store across the street, but not much else.
