Views for miles
Feb 2020
Great place to take pictures. You can see for miles. There are two shops where you can buy souvenirs or get something to drink. The Chapel on San Antonio is located there.

Beautiful view
Feb 2020
As we approached the road to the hill, we noticed a chair lift. It was non-operational so I don't know if it was seasonal or not.
We passed people walking up the hill and others cycling. Neither group seems very happy about the very long climb. Cerro San Antonio (San Antonio Hill) owes its name to the small round white chapel at its top. Halfway up, we saw the statue of Maris Stella Virgin, protector of anglers and sailors. She was facing the sea – protecting all that she could envision. The top of the hills is 426 feet above sea level.

From the summit, you can see the Uruguayan version of Sugar Loaf Mountain. It is 1,300 feet tall and looks somewhat similar to the larger version in Rio de Janeiro. At the foot of that mountain there is an animal reserve, which offers a ninety-minute tour. There is also a small zoo at the base of that mountain.

You come to Cerro San Antonio for the view. There restaurants and snacks at the top as well.

Great views but very commercial
Nov 2019 • Friends
Great views, and certainly worth a visit for 4.5 minutes, but no longer than that. This is one of those places which is in the process of being ruined by commercialism, with tacky vendor shops located at the top. The issue is that there is nowhere to grab a quick coffee to go; I’m not sure why that is. The views are to die for and that is why you are there; take your pictures and leave before someone tries to take your cash in the shops.

Great views of Piriapolis
Aug 2018 • Friends
We took the chairlift to the top for $200 pesos per person, return. It’s a fun way to reach the top, not for the faint hearted though! You travel very closely to power lines and over the road in parts. There are a few tourist shops at the top where you can buy popcorn and coffee. Would be fabulous on summer, there is a restaurant with a pool and sweeping views of Pan de Azucar and the Piriapolis Rambla!

Spectacular Views Of The Shoreline and Port of Piriapolis
Jan 2018 • Solo
Piriapolis isn't known for man great things. However coming to the top of Cerro San Antonio, the view is not just breathtaking, but amazing. You can see for yourself from the photos that I took.
From this vantage point, one can see the Shoreline of Piriapolis beach as well as the seaport. There is headress monument at the top, as well as thatched huts and tourist/souvenir stores.
