The park is dedicated to the WW II liberators of Kherson. There are several plaques in the park that contain information on how the Soviets eventually defeated the Germans in WW II. There is also a great view of the Dnieper River here. This is one of the better Soviet memorials I have visited.

all the locals know and call this place as Arestanka (based on the historical issues). it`s a key point for gathering and meeting people. besides, Arestanka is known as a platform for music fests.

This Soviet-era park, built in a monumental style, offers a place to stroll, sit and take in an awesome view of the Dnieper and plains beyond.
The gems for me were a small memorial to the soldiers lost in the war in Afghanistan and another to those at Chernobyl, which help give a more complex view on heroism.

A silent park. There is no English written explanations there. I have just felt sad myself while walking in the park.

Memorial complex dedicated to WWII.
Kind of Communist "propaganda" remaining from the Soviet Union times.
Poor maintained.
Same time worth to see and enjoy a fantastic view to the Dnieper River and it's wild nature at left bank locally called "plavnyi".
Do not go there in hot weather as it has no shelters or any facilities

Walking toward the column, reaching it and looking down at the landing, it is possible to imagine military personnel returning from a conflict. The statue on the column holds a victory wreath. It is a solemn and moving place to visit and to remember the loss of young men, loved by their families, I found it very moving.

I visited the part on a saturday morning in March. It was still winter and no signs of the spring. It is one of the best maintained parks in Kherson with an excellent view over the river. It remains a bit strange that the Ukrainians think that the 2nd world war started in 1941.Still it is a nice place to walk around.
