Pakbara is nice to visit
Dec 2019
Been to Pakbara Pier last December 2019. We love the street food at Pakbara Night Market. Food is delicious. We love the beach and plenty of restaurant to eat. From the Pakbara Pier you can travel to Koh Lipe & Satun Geo Park by boat. Waiting area is comfortable and for me is ok. Will go there again next time.

Excellent for Sea beach Experience
Mar 2019
The owner at the Farmsuk Residence and Resort had booked ferry tickets for us. That would take us to Koh Lipe from Pak Bara. The stay included free transfer by an aircon van to the pier. It is just 10 km away from the resort. At the pier, we grabbed few fruits and local stuff for breakfast. There are plenty of shops to eat next to the pier, and also at the pier. But be there few minutes earlier so that you can check in easily before you board the boat.

Under The Tree coffee shop...great coffee at local prices
Jan 2020 • Couples
Avoid the tourist crowds while waiting for your boat or bus and have delicious cheap coffee or iced frappe at friendly Aisha's coffee kiosk in the shade of flowers and trees. Our coffee and iced drinks were delicious and watch the local world go by sitting in the shade. Stroll past 7/11, cross the road and keep walking 200 metres

A few restaurants nearby and only a short hop away from our hotel
Dec 2018
A nice little small pier with a few restaurants nearby, cheap tuk tuks wait for you to take you to town. You would only be here to get to some of the hotels not accessible by land.

All in facilities Terminal
Dec 2018
I took an early morning speedboat to Koh Lipe & surround island for a 1-day trip only.
If you do not take any package from an agent, you have to pay an entrance fee for its National Park area &
there are several boat service provider sells tickets to few locations around Koh Lipe.

if you arrived at this terminal around 4-5 pm, there is a lack of public transportation for you to move to another location. be prepared for any transfer method.

The toilet is clean. Signage was clear.

Good Pier to Koh Lipe!
Mar 2019
The pier is well organized for speed boats to Koh Lipe. There are speed boat companies at the pier. We had to pay fees for the pier usage and the entrance to the Ko Tarutao National Park.

Improvements
Feb 2019 • Couples
Revisited this year and found system slightly changed.

The entrance fee to pier and the National Park entrance fee were collected in advance at the same time. It follows that the boat will not stop over at Koh Tarutao anymore for the National Park entrance fee. This save at least half an hour. Instead, the boat will stopover at Egg Island for 15 minutes for sight seeing before heading to the New Bundhya Beach Pier. The Pier has now been rebuilt at Banghya beach. The Pattaya Beach Pier is officially discontinued.

The check-in procedure also changed. The luggage will not be tagged. You check-in personally and obtained a boarding pass and be seated till the boat boys come to collect your luggage. Aboard with your boarding pass then.

This is the gateway to Tarutao National Park including Koh Lipe and as well connecting to Malaysia Langkawi. You can only come here by car. If you are from Bangkok, then you need to take a plane to Hat Yai. Thai Smile and Air Asia are the common carriers.

Upon arrival Hat Yai Int'l Airport, you can get car transfer to the pier. It takes about 1-1/2 hour. Suggest to make booking in advance with Thai local tour company for better price and convenience. You can also buy ticket at the pier. The boat trip is about an hour and during non raining season, Nov to April, the ride is smoother otherwise quite choppy. Benches are rather short for 3 passengers especially mainly Chunky Westerners. Peak season will be a bit sticky for an hour.

Overall travel experience is good.

Chaotic place.
Jan 2019 • Family
The access to the boat is not safe above all if travelling with child.
They should provide detailed information about the trip and the taxes to be paid.
Would be useful to know since the beginning that:
- the Pear fees has to be paid one time only;
- the Marine Park Entrance is not inclused in the ticket price;
- Along the trip two stops are foreseen;
- The beach will be reached passing from the speed boat to a floating platform and than to a long tail boat;
- On the floating platform you do not have to pay again to boarding to the long tail boat (many tourists were double charged).

The life jacket should be provided also for the children.

Really Organised!
May 2018
Pak Bara has been done up a lot since last visit. There are now a lot of amenities (new restaurants, cafes and bathrooms) clear signage and a lovely fan-cooled waiting room! It definitely makes travel a lot smoother now :-)
