About
The Phang Nga Elephant Park is a small family-run park. Our family has cared for elephants for over 150 years and we opened the park in 2015 so that we could keep our elephants in a caring and stress-free environment and give our visitors an extraordinary and life-enhancing experience. We are dedicated to providing our elephants with the highest quality of life possible and our strong belief in human-elephant interaction is what makes the Phang Nga Elephant Park so special.

An Amazing Experience

We had a wonderful time at the Phang Nga Elephant Park, where the staff were ever so friendly. We learnt lots of interesting facts about the Park and its aims to care for and look after elephants, where their welfare is priority. An incredible day to remember!

Elephants need your help!
Sep 2020
There are few elephant farms in Thailand that really take care of these wonderful beasts and we were fortunate to find this wonderful location. It’s ver hard time for these kinds of places to continue to feed these majestic animals. If you’re living in Thailand during the lockdown, come and help donate towards food.

Many thanks for your kind comments. We hope to get back to normal eventually once this crisis has passed. All of our elephants are fit and well at this difficult time. Best wishes Jake Please Note Covid-19 has resulted in the temporary closure of Phang Nga Elephant Park and there will be no visitors and no tourism permitted for weeks or possibly months ahead. We survive as an ethical elephant park only through the visits of our guests and by offering a wonderful opportunity to meet our elephants and to learn something about their care, their endangered status and their importance in Thai culture. So please do follow us on Facebook for information and updates - we do need your support at this difficult time. Jake (jakrapob@phangngaelephantpark.com)

This is a must do for everyone
Mar 2020 • Couples
We visited this park in March 2020, this trip was overwhelming, we had a fantastic experience with Tong - Sri a 38 year old female elephant from feeding her to bathing her was something we will never forget this is a must do trip for everyone, the welfare of these wonderful animals is paramount to the staff at the park they don’t allow people to ride on the elephants or tether them that’s why we were attracted to visiting the park, our guide Alex was very professional in every way, she explained every detail, this is a must do for everyone, we cannot wait to return to Thailand and the elephant park,

Thank you for writing. You write such a nice report of the days before the Covid outbreak closed us down. Just great. We had so much fun. The staff were super friendly and relaxed. We never thought that you could get so close to elephants. And apparently, the animals are doing really well there and they are being well looked after.

Totally ethical experience
Mar 2020
Another wonderful day spent here with well looked after and happy elephants, caring mahouts and interesting, delightful guides. No riding, you walk with these majestic and calm creatures, see how they are checked daily, feed them and bathe them. Our mahout was so lovely and took pictures for us, and all the elephants were well fed, healthy and calm. There was no swaying or ear flapping. We can not recommend this experience enough - worth every penny

An awesome experience....a must do trip
Mar 2020
Unsure what to expect, all we knew was that we wanted to learn about Asian Elephants in an environment that respected them and put their needs first.
This we achieved and more. Finn and Taik were so in tune with Ja. Na who responded with so much gentleness, difficult to believe coming from such a large and powerful animal. There were many truly memorable experiences to choose from, bathing her in the river, feeding her, just walking by her side and cuddling her. She appeared to take a liking to David by walking closely to him....there are many more. Her friendship with another elephant (we cannot remember her name) had to be seen to be believed ❣The whole atmosphere was really calming and could easily be mistaken as a retreat. Lunch was excellent, in a superb setting and we were allowed to take our time to enjoy the meal. In fact we were not put under any pressure to reach any timelines. Finn answered our many questions with professionalism and enthusiasm. Keep up the good work, and we hope to revisit you one day.

At this rather stressful time for all of us, it is good to learn that we were able to offer some peace and tranquillity in the jungle hillsides in Phang Nga Province. Our elephants are devoted to their kran-changs and love meeting guests, as you and David discovered. JaNa is a very special elephant and her friend was probably Preuksa (whose name means 'Flora'). The two of them have a very close friendship. Every day, when she returns from her nightly forage in the jungle, as Preuksa walks past Ja Na she will let out an almighty roar - waking up everyone who is still asleep. They will have been apart for less than 12 hours but make such a fuss over being ‘reunited’ like long lost friends. You can read more about these two on our website if you click on About/Elephants & Kwan-changs. Thank you for your kind words about Finn, which I will pass on to him. He has opted to stay with us throughout the lock-down period. Thanks so much for the comment and I am delighted you had a good visit with JaNa and her mahout or carer called Por (you can read more about them on our website under About Us/ Elephants & Kwan-changs). I am so pleased you also enjoyed lunch. Please come again.
