This was not a place on the 3 temples tour! A very different temple experience. Free entry but it's always nice to make a donation. You enter the complex through a huge dragon walking the length of its body before exiting into Buddist hell. Lots...More

Wat Thamtapan is in Phang Nga town which is about 1.5 hours’ drive from Phuket and this would have to be the strangest Temple I have ever been in. There are shocking displays of what Buddhist Hell would be like, plus a nice display for...More

The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The building itself was remarkable and with a terrific history and the tour provided a very educational outcome for me.

Primitive sculptures that illustrate punishment for different sins. The rest is typical attributes of a Buddhist place. Nice, but can be skipped.

The cave is amazing and feels peaceful and spiritual. The hell garden is pretty gruesome but an interesting part of Thai culture. Overall a good stop for half an hour or so.

This is not the usual flashy Thai temple with lots of gold-leafed figurines/Buddha statues. Instead it tells the story of what happens when you commit the deadly sins of killing, committing adultery, gambling etc. It could appear gory to some people. This Heaven & Hell...More

I recommend to climb the scary stairs, peacefully, to the monk's home and enjoy the great views. Calm and enjoyable place.

I was very excited to come here because of all the good reviews. To put in to context, I have been to Singapore's Haw Par Villa which has a similar context but better presented. To put in bluntly, this was poorly maintained and a health...More

Look at the Google map of Phang Nga town. A short walk from the city centre.
