Must visit in Pai, go for the sunset
It is a short walk up to the viewpoint for the sunset. However, it was very crowded when we reached at 5.45pm. It was in time for the stunning sunset. Pai Canyon is a good photo spot if you are daring enough to stand at the cliff edge. A good pair of sneakers would be good as there are loose sands everywhere. No entrance fee.

    Stunning sunset view
Have been in Pai Canyon for 2 times, first time in the morning and second time for the sunset view. The morning view of canyon was very clear and better to take some good photoes as the people there not so crowded. The sunset view here was stunning and beautiful.

    Amazing views!
Pai Canyon is amazing, especially at sunset. It is a tricky/slippy climb in some parts and also very dusty. We went both during the day, and at sunset. Huge crowds at sunset, so it was nice to see it quieter during the day!

    Beautiful
Visiting is a must when in Pai, renting a moped and driving here is part of the experience, and can cost as little as 150baht for the day (+gass). The walk can be easy or challenging, up to you! More crowded during sunset, but not to a point where it ruins the experience, AT ALL.

The internet says the sun sets at 6:14 pm but when we reached there around 6, the sun was already down, so the next day we went there around 5:30 and got a chance to see sunset. Amazing sunset and place. And for that reason it’s crowded as well. Have to walk some steps from the road though, but it’s very easy walk.

Now it's a good place to stay quiet until 17h when lots of people come to see the sunset. Watching the sunset it's beautiful if you like taking pictures. If you like to walk, better go before 12am to explore all the paths. It's a really strange geography I would like to see from above.

Worth a visit. We visited mid morning and were practically the only ones there. A number of the usual food outlets beside the car park if you want food or drinks, all reasonably priced. ( unlike back in the uk were everything would be a rip off! ). I think if you have a choice, visit it in the morning as uposed to the evening when it gets very crowded.

Beautiful canyon. We went at sunset. There were lots of people there at sunset, but it was free to enter so the price was right. You could find a place to sit and watch the sunset easily amongst the crowd so it was good overall

We arrived at Pai Canyon around 4 because we wanted to explore a bit before sunset. With our 6, 8, and 10 year old, some parts of the hike were too dangerous or steep, but there were plenty of paths and areas that we could explore as long as we held onto the little one's hands. It was a lovely view and great place to take some scenic photos with valley views on both sides. Just be really careful if you have the fearless type of children as they could easily have a terrible fall. It was too cloudy for a great sunset, so we might try again another day.

This is an interesting place to wander around. The canyon is deep and some of the ledges are precarious but the views are really good (and also it’s free!!).

You can wander from ledge to ledge, hilltop to hilltop, or you can find one of the steep or not too steep walks down into it and wander at your leisure.

We stayed about 45 minutes but we didn’t explore the bottom. Also, the sunset is supposed to be spectacular and there are log seats for you to enjoy that presuming it’s not really busy.

Every day scores, if not hundreds, of people congregate at Pai Canyon to watch the sunset. The canyon is indeed beautiful and a magnet for adventure seekers. The area has eroded over thousands of years, leaving only a few towering razor-back spines extending in a web out over the area. In some places, the paths narrow to a half meter or less, with 50-meter vertical drops on both sides. The paths are not for the faint-hearted or those suffering from acrophobia. They perhaps should not be for anyone, as there is real danger here. While I don't think there have yet been any deaths resulting from falls at the canyon, there have been several serious injuries and people suffer minor scrapes virtually every day. I would not say the site should be closed, but I do think that many visitors take too many chances climbing about the site, and much more caution is warranted. But, all is not lost! Visitors can get some great views and perhaps the best photos of the sunset from the very first viewpoint that entails no real risks in reaching. Pai Canyon is one of the best free attractions around and well worth a (safe) visit to view the sunset or the landscape. Don't miss it! Just be careful!

The views from the canyon are amazing. I’d recommend renting a bike and using that to get up there, there’s plenty or parking at the entrance.
There isn’t much in the way of safety barriers and restrictions, but to be honest it did make the experience more enjoyable. There are quite a few people, particularly at sunset, but still worth it! It gets 4* instead of 5* due to the amount of litter around the place. It’s a shame that tourists can’t respect the amazing areas Thailand has to offer, and I hope more gets done to dissuade litterers

The Canyon is really worth the visit. Especially during sunrise or sunset the view is breath taking. When your not afraid of hights you can try to walk the small paths.

Before you go up (it's a 5 min walk) you have the possibility to buy some drinks.
