This an absolutely incredible gym. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned Muay Thai fighter- the highly experienced trainers have a class for you.

Darius, who runs the place, has been on the island for over 20 years and has perfected the formula for a gym. They also offer great Jiujitsu classes as part of the world renowned 10th Planet family.

In addition there are boxing, HIIT and weight lifting options, basically anything you need.

Finish off your session with dunk in the ice bath which is cleaned and refreshed daily.

I can’t recommend this place highly enough- make sure you don’t miss out!

Monsoon Gym & Fight Club!
Loved every minute of my stay here! The energy on the mat is amazing and the trainers are really making you push yourself.

It was my second time back at the Gym and are already looking foreward to get back next year. They offer classes with Gladiator training (HIIT), Muay Thai, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Capoeira :D

you can also train weights at the gym next door and stay at the dorm if you please.

Me and my wife Sara have spent 10 weeks doing muay thai and gym sessions, and we loved every session.
The trainers make sure you have fun, sweat and become better and better for every session.
We hope we can come back some day.
The gym is clean and cool, perfect on the hot days.

i just spent about 2weeks here on monsoon gym and fight club. I did at least one session per day and I loved it. I only tried the Muay Thai though but next time I will definitely try the gladiator as well. The Muay Thai trainers made the training really fun. I had such a good time here. I also stayed at the dorm and the people I met staying here or during training made my time here the best. I recommend this place with all my heart.

We spent 8 weeks on Koh Tao (July-Sept), training Muay Thai and CrossFit at Monsoon almost everyday and what can we say? Awesome. We booked the unlimited training package plus dorm and we were really happy we did so. The atmosphere at the gym is great! People are motivated and dedicated, friendly and welcoming. The training is demanding. But the trainers know how far they can push you and training at the limit helps you getting better real quick. We had classes with just two 'students' and classes quite crowded with up to 18 students (Especially after the full moon parties when people from Koh samui come to Koh tao for a couple of days) but it was always well organized and everybody had a couple of one to ones with the trainers. The Location of the gym is perfect. The beach is not even a minute away from the gym, food places are everywhere around and that's all you need, right? Long story short: We had an amazing time. Highly recommended. Have fun and train hard.

I decided to take Brazillian Ju Jitsu classes with this gym as they looked professional and no one else was offering this on the island. I paid for 8 classes upfront. I went to the first class, it was cancelled as the trainer had an issue. I attended 2 more classes which were very mediocre as we spent 20 minutes on a warm up and very little time on instruction as there was only one instructor and 16 people paired up trying out a new grappling move. On my 3rd class the instructor told us he would be leaving to pursue his career of fighting at UFC. No class that day either and explanation of what would happen to our monies already paid. I left it a few days and then returned to ask about my money, I was told by the owner that I shouldn't have given the instructor any money??? Who else should I have paid? Anyway he wouldn't give me any money back and offered alternative classes of Muay Thai to which I had already paid upfront to another gym. All in all a very bad experience and I wouldn't hurry to go back. Yes they look more professional but the old school gym 'Island Muay Thai' down in Sairee Beach has more integrity and a better style of training.

Hi Timo, I am a little confused about this review as you visited the island over a year ago and are only just now posting. I know memories fade and want to remind you of a few things... -The trainer that you said you paid your money to left rather abruptly and the management wasn't aware of any money exchange between you and him. As you had no receipt and I couldn't verify that you had paid, I told you that I couldn't exactly give a refund of money that I didn't receive. That said, I offered to give you 5 Muay Thai classes to cover your expenses for what you said was the unused portion of the 6 BJJ classes that you allegedly paid for- based solely on your word. -At the time you appreciated the gesture and were seemingly happy to take us up on the offer to make things right. As you were already booked in for Muay Thai with the other school on the island and were extremely disappointed with the level of instruction that you received over there you mentioned that you were excited to come join us for training. -You never did come to train Muay Thai with us but dropped in numerous times to tell us that you would be coming soon. -Apparently, you spent the last of your holidays partying at the local bars. The guys in our dorm and our trainers reported seeing you out at the various bars each night. You are very recognizable and they were all aware of your intention to come and train with us. -As you never did come in and train Muay Thai with us, and reported how poor your experience was with my competitor, I am troubled that you now come out after close to 13 months and allege that their training is better than ours. I'd be happy to honor my word and will STILL offer you those 5 sessions, on the house, should you ever return to Koh Tao with the caveat that you remove your misguided post. As you can see from the all of our other reviews here, Monsoon Gym & Fight Club strives to offer the best in training, atmosphere and service to our customers. I do hope for the opportunity to show you the same great experience that the rest of our customers report. Darius

I think it's the 5th Muay Thai gym in Thailand I've trained at and I've trained at about the same in London, and I had the most fun at this class I've ever had at a gym. 3 rounds on the pads with one of the Thai trainers plus about 5 rounds with other tourists who were all mega friendly, and all the usual shadow boxing, general Muay Thai exercises and a good stretching session.

I stayed at monsoon for the last month of my travelling in Thailand and really was better than I ever could of imagined. The gym and equipment is all brand new, the trainers are all of a very high standard and accommodation is cheap and perfect for what you need to train. With only a Minuit walk from the beach makes it so easy to chill out after you train HARD. The owner Darius is just a seriously genuine bloke and makes you feel welcome from the second you walk in. The coaches are all if great standard but also up for a laugh as well which is exactly what I want when I'm training. Overall brilliant place and I will be returning as soon as I can.
