Did my open water course here in January and absolutely loved it.
The owners and staff were very friendly. I was very impressed that everyone I talked to made the effort to remember my name.
My instructor Anton was AWESOME 🤙. Very professional, informative and fun! It was a good time hanging out after the dives at the Buddha Bar.
The dive boat was the best on the island, all the equipment was in good condition, 10/10 would recommend the cookies. Ocean Sound was worth it just for the boat cat (pictured).
My only comment would be that it would have been nice to get a picture of us divers under the water. Not sure how practical that would be given how much the instructors are already responsible for but it is certainly worth considering for the future.
Overall I would absolutely recommend Ocean Sound.
My PADI card just came in the mail today, can't wait to dive again.

We can't recommend these guys enough. I hadn't dived for over 10 years and my partner Phyu had only dived once before and had a terrible experience. Our dive instructor Sam installed confidence from the outset, so much so that we booked another two days diving! Phyu & Richard

I recently went on a fun dive with Ocean Sound Dive and was fortunate enough to have a private dive with Ernie, one of the Dive Instructors. I was very impressed and would highly recommend this company and especially Ernie as all aspects of the dive far exceeded my expectations. The equipment was top notch and very comfortable, the boat was quite luxurious by all standards and Ernie was both fun and very knowledgeable. He took the time to really brief me on all aspects of the dive and what would be happening, as well as, instructing me on improving my diving skills. Since I am a new diver and still working towards getting better I was really happy to have all of the extra instruction he provided me. He’s a born teacher and easily explained concepts that I struggled with. I felt completely safe and had two amazing dives. We even saw a bull shark

I enrolled in the PADI open water course based on 3 things - killer reviews, boat cat Mr. White and a great dive schedule. Little did I know I would absolutely fall in love with everything about Ocean Sound. The hospitality is unparalleled. The owners make you feel welcome, are super helpful and make sure you're enjoying yourself on the Island. You are welcome to fill up your water bottle when they are open during your stay on the island which was HUGE bonus points for me because I hate how much plastic water bottles are used during my international travels.
Our instructor Anton was amazing. His patience, humor, and knowledge made even the most anxious diver (me!) feel totally confident by the end of the course. His passion for diving is contagious and I feel eternally grateful that our paths crossed. Diving will forever be part of my life because of this experience.
My boyfriend and I are dreaming about the next time we come back and complete our Advanced Diving course at Ocean Sound. The time can't come soon enough. Damn America for their horrible PTO policies!
Thanks Ocean Sound. You all are the best. If you come to San Francisco, please hit me up!

We have just finished our Open Water dive course with Ocean Sound and it was so unbelievably good that the first thing I’m doing back at our accommodation is writing this review. We booked with Ocean Sound in October 2019 and due to Covid, we have only just made it here! Throughout our extended reservation period Jesper couldn’t have been better at communicating and being flexible with our dates and the plan. He even honoured the current discounted rate, which was a lot less than when we initially booked - amazing! When we arrived on Koh Tao, their driver, the lovely Ko, was there to meet us as planned and Will had already confirmed everything by email that morning. We were then given Dakota to be our instructor for the course - what a brilliant teacher; positive, engaging, patient, and accurate. She helped us master our skills and build our confidence for the open water dives. The sea here is extraordinary. Warm, clear, great coral and beautiful fish. It felt like we were diving in our own private aquarium. Not only was the diving and instruction second to none, Ocean Sound’s organisation, communication and welcoming ethos literally blew our minds. We have been waiting to do this for so long that I was worried that our expectations might be impossible to meet. In fact, not only did Koh Tao and the whole team at Ocean Sound rise to the occasion, they literally gave us the experience of a lifetime - thank you from Rachel, Guy and Jacob 😎🤿

Myself and a friend had the good fortune to get our Open Water Certification at Ocean Sound. Our instructor, Super Ruta, was incredible! She explained things so clearly, including some of the more complex physics at play when diving. She was also super high energy and made everything from the initial meet and greet, to the classroom/pools sessions, to the ocean dives, a fun experience.
We were initially a bit nervous about diving, but by the time we were in the water for our first ocean dive we felt very well prepared, confident and excited. Most of all the entire process felt very safe and extremely well organized. Ruta did an amazing job helping us hone specific skills (like buoyancy) and challenging us as we got more confident in the water. She was also a great guide and pointed out all the amazing marine life during dives.
After completing our certification we also opted to do an additional night dive. We were accompanied by both Ruta and Jesper. It was really magical experience, and had we been in Koh Tao longer, we definitely would have done additional fun dives with the Ocean Sound team.
Beyond our experience diving, everyone at Ocean Sound (Will, Jesper and Ruta) went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensured everything went smoothly. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience and hope to be back in Koh Tao to see you all someday! I cannot recommend Ocean Sound enough for any fun dives and certifications!

Went to a fabulous Hatha yoga class with Iris. It was challenging but suitable to all abilities. She was very professional, gave great alignment cues, options for further challenge, and hands on adjustments- which I love. I really appreciated that she spent time developing specific skills during the class as well and I left feeling like I learned something. I also went fun diving to Chumphon pinacle. A great day out on the water, beautiful boat, and I had a super experienced guide who made me laugh the whole time. Overall great experience!

If you are looking for somewhere to dive then look no further. Right from the start the staff at Ocean sound were so welcoming and we instantly felt comfortable. It was a very well organised course with class room sessions and a pool session to increase your confidence and introduce you to the feeling of breathing underwater and the vital skills. Unlike some other diving schools, Ocean sound ensure a maximum of 4 people in a group in order to increase safety and 1 on 1 time with your instructor. We never felt pressured to do anything and our instructor worked with us at our pace. Our instructor, Zuzana, was amazing. She was so enthusiastic, friendly, smiley and always checked up on us in and out of the water. We loved the course so much we completed our advance diving course straight after. The advanced course allowed us to choose 3 fun dives which included a night dive and a ship wreck dive. We really couldn’t recommend this company enough. Amazing!

Where to start from?!
What got our attention first was the very competitive price compared to other shops on the island. Then we had the chance to meet an incredible array of amazing people - from Ko, our kind driver, to Jesper , great dive shop owner… am I forgetting somebody?! Oh well, Our INCREDIBLE instructor Sam!!! She is amazing: she would be clear on expectations and instructions, explain the dive sites, make sure everybody was ok, take amazing pics and also give us amazing tips to exploring the island. the shop atmosphere is great, everybody is chilled and very professional at the same time. We liked it so much we decided to stay and do also the advanced open waters. Cannot go wrong with ocean sound!!!! We loved it and can’t wait to dive more and more!

Not gonna lie, I am slightly scared of the sea but I decided to push myself and do an open water certificate. Everything felt very professional during this experience and my dive instructor, Kray, made me feel super comfortable and safe. We were in a group of 4 so I felt like I got the time I needed whilst learning and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had - the group as a whole was amazing! Couldn’t recommend enough. Cheers to my group, Kray, and the team at Ocean Sound!

I'm interested in introducing my 3 children to scuba diving and planning a trip to Thailand in the fall. My youngest child is 9 and not a great swimmer. The cost for a fun dive trip is 2000 baht. This includes 2 dives, dive guide, all the equipment, dive computer and also breakfast on morning trips.

Hi,
I am in Cambodia and am considering going to Koh Tao in a few days time to get my Padi.
I have checked the weather and it looks like a lot of rain and cloudy weather. Can you tell me honestly if it is a bad idea to do the diving in that weather? I don’t want to spend money on flights to get there and also on the course if it’s not ideal conditions.
I appreciate your honesty on this because I have heard good things about your company and was given a recommendation from a friend.

I found some school will offer some online course for the theory preparation and finish the poor and open water training in Koh Tao in three days. Do your school offer this kind combination?

Can I see whale sharks by snorkelling, or do I need to get scuba certified and dive to see them? I'm not sure how deep they swim. Thanks!

Hello Michael, in order to have a chance to see a Whale Shark, you will need to learn how to dive. They prefer offshore pinnacles around Koh Tao.
