I initially emailed several dive shops on the island and New Way was the only one to give me a personal non automated reply. They picked me up directly from the pier and promptly offered me cold water, tea, or coffee. The entire dive shop has a very relaxed vibe. They asked me what I was interested in doing and provided me with a few different options. I ended up opting(like many other people) for the PADI Open Water class. Since I was traveling alone, I ended up having one on one instruction. They usually never have groups larger than 4 students/divers(unless you are in a big group and request it). The guest house they put me up in was very nice. The entire experience was so amazing that I ended up staying and signing up for my advanced open water, emergency first responder, rescue diver, and divemaster course. After spending 4 months diving, I can't think of a better place to dive on Koh Tao.

I chose New Way Diving based on reviews and I am glad I did, for they not only lived up to my expectations, but also exceeded them, many a time. I will summarise the reasons for which why I will choose them again:
1. These a bunch of pros who know what they are doing and are completely in love with it.
2. Because they love what they do, they know how to create a customised diving experience for an individual fun diver like me, even when I was part of a group. It is achieved by keeping group size limited to no more than 4.
3. They have hit upon this brilliant idea of early morning dives, leaving at 6, which means no traffic and you have rest of the day as free.
4. The team at New Way is fun to be with and at the same time are committed to serious/ safety part of diving.
5. So sad, it came to an end...
One thing that they can do without:- SMOKE.....everywhere.... at the shop, on the boat, pre diving/ post diving/ during surface interval...Atleast, banish it from the diving boat
Special thanks to Jim, for proactive responses during pre-booking stages and to Max and Yohan, for being my buddy divers. It was loads of fun....
Keep it up and see you soon guys

Diving with New Way Diving was my best experience whilst travelling through Thailand. All the staff are very professional whilst still making the experience fun and enjoyable. Koh Tao Island is situatate on probably the best dive location in Thailand. The are so many amazing dives that are extremely close for those boaters out there that are not really keen on the long voyages. New Way delivered. They have extremely functional dive vessels with all the amenitities you always feel comfortable. The knowledge of the instructors was unbeatable and if they didn't know (which was not often) they found out. I ran into a few dramas in Koh Tao out side of diving and the staff really went that extra mile to accommodate my situation. Nothing was to much trouble. I always dive with PADI and these guys are flying the PADI flag more then compitently. Anyone reading this if you havn't booked a ticket to Koh Tao yet then do it now! And if diving is what your chasing you just can't go past New Way Diving. You won't be dissapointed!

I did my OpenWaterDiver PADI certification with New Way and felt very confident in the water thanks to the friendly instructors, diving in a group of only 5people coming from all over the world. We saw a lot of nice fishs and you totally forget about any stress you could feel about being underwater. I'm looking forward to my next dives!
Koh Tao is beautiful and they arrange everything for you to have a nice stay on the island (a nice bungalow 10m from Sairee Beach).
Their offer is very complete, you can pass all PADI certifications with them (deep dives, night dives, underwater photography and video...).
New Way Diving is also an eco-friendly structure and organizes dives with Koh exist to take care of the submarine world.

We discover the diving with them and pass the open water diver. Jerome was a really good instructor. He knows his job and how to give you confidence. Moreover the accommodation was awesome! One bungalow on the beach!
This school prefers to have little groups of divers by instructors. If we have to come back on Koh Tao, sure we'll dive again with them.

I did my PADI certification with New Way. As a first time diver I had the best experience in years. The staff is friendly and super competent. The diving sites are amazing. Recommend for all!

I found them with luck thanks to the friend of a friend. You’re looking for a friendly, familial, yet ultra professional and skilled team to take you diving on Koh Tao? At the best price in the island + in the world? Stop looking, this is the place.
If you’re still learning, from Open Water to Dive Master, they’ll make you comfortable and lead you to greater knowledge in record time, in small groups, avoiding the usual impersonal ambiance you’d find with most of the other diving centres of the island.
If you’re seeking fun dives they’re the first on the best spots around the island and they have a certain chic to take you to turtles, whale sharks, rays and every other sea beauties you wouldn’t reach with other centres.
Whether you speak German, English, Spanish, French, they have the best instructors. Respectively Stefan, Jimbo, Anna, Jerome, and all the others whom I’ve had the pleasure to see in action. There are no better reassuring + fun leaders to take you underwater, you won’t regret one second.
Thank you New Way Diving! See you again soon!

from the moment i called i felt welcome and taken care of. It is more expensive than the others but worth every bath. This dive school gives you no worries and makes sure you have a buddy under water and some above. Tnx for all chris and co!

I did my open water and some adventure dives with Anna and David at New Way.
The place is awesome: small classes (max 4, when other schools are doing 12!), über-friendly staff and management (owner Pi Pan and manager Jim are great fun), and early morning departures guarantee you arrive at the dive spots before the hoards!
Highly recommended.

Just because these guys offer a competitive rate doesn't mean they cut corners. The training is thorough and practical, the (multilingual) staff are friendly and approachable with students and staff matched appropriately. Groups are kept small. Equipment is good. Accommodation offered was comfortable and clean.
Have several dive times per day accessing all available dive sights frequently.
Overall a very good experience, so much better than many of the other operators on the island who charge more and offer less.

Hello!
I am just wondering - is tipping your diving instructor customary? I don't want to offend anyone by not tipping etc.
Thanks!
Written June 24, 2017
Hey Ashleigh. Tipping is up to you and should reflect the experience /instructor. Thing is, these guys don't make a ton of money and our dive instructors at New Way Diving were excellent and we tipped them well.
