About
Operating since 1992 Phoenix Divers Koh Tao was one of the first dive schools on the island. We offer small groups and a family atmosphere but with all the facilities you expect from a well-established Koh Tao diving center.
Our beautiful location backs onto Sairee beach, nestled in between an array of the best bars and restaurants the island has to offer. We can teach the full range of diving courses from beginner to professional & offer daily diving trips.
Dive with us and you will get to enjoy our purpose built dive pool, 4 classrooms, two big pink dive boats and our awesome team of friendly & experienced dive professionals.

This seems to be a good dive shop with a fun atmosphere. I know all dive shops pretty much match that description but this place is very welcoming and takes good care of you. I watched them deal with divers at every level and they were very careful to make sure everyone was comfortable. Especially the beginning divers. I think this is what they do the most. They threw a bbq when they had a heavy load of new divers to make everyone feel at home.
I liked all the gear, ran into no janky crap. They have their own boat and longtail so it's a well oiled operation every day in and out. I saw more in two days with these guys than I did with another shop. Might have been luck? Might have been focus and experience. Yes there are definitely turtles to be seen. And rays, and, and.
I want to make a special mention about Nathan Horst. He led me on my Rescue Diver course and put me at ease. It's not really easy being the center of attention saving people in front of an audience but he made it jovial at the same time he was calling me out on my missteps. He didn't make me feel like I screwed up but joked about how I could have talked to the victim etc. Thanks Nate.

I undertook my open water diving certificate here in Jan 2020 and within the month returned to do my Advanced Adventurer Course. The vibe at Phoenix was unreal, and the fun didn't stop at diving!
For both courses, I was lucky enough to have the same instructor, Charley. Awesome guy, who took pride in teaching us everything we needed to know in order to have the best diving experience whilst maintaining safety and professionalism the whole time. He spent the extra time to make sure we were all comfortable and happy throughout our whole course and ensured my whole diving experience on Koh Tao was an absolute blast. Not to mention Phoenix has the best boat on the island.
I wouldn't go anywhere else in Koh Tao.
Ask for Charley as your instructor, you won't be disappointed!!

I absolved my open water course today with instructor Finn. I highly recommend him as he was able to take my fear and made my experience under water unforgettable. He is very patient ,always takes extra time if someone is struggling. Also he is open to answer all curios questions and gives good understandable lesson's! It was definitely fun and I am looking forward to take part on the Advanced Course with him!

3 friends and myself did the Basic Diver (2 dives) with Kevin and it was perfect. We had a brief classroom session and then learned some skills in the pool. After lunch we headed out to the boat and had 2 great dives! Everything ran so smoothly and we all felt very safe and comfortable the entire time. If you’re thinking of trying out diving this is a great place to do so.
I enjoyed it so much I ended up signing up to do my Open Water course the following day. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor than Louis. He explained everything so well and is extremely knowledgeable. The course content was presented in a very flexible manner allowing more time to be spent on areas where I needed more practice. It is a lot of content to learn but Louis and the wonderful assistant Alex made sure it was loads of fun at the same time.
I can’t say enough positive things about this entire company. I would 100% recommend Phoenix Divers and if I am ever back in Koh Tao I will definitely be back.

While in Koh Tao I decided to try my hand at a dive for the first time ever. Was an amazing experience, made much easier and stress free with the help of Phoenix divers, especially the wonderful and patient Audrey.
From the minute I visited my nerves were put at ease, and Audrey made sure I was confident before entering the sea during a practice in a nearby pool. Throughout the whole experience she was there making sure I was OK, and at any time I felt anxious, she soon made sure I was calm again.
Prior to this I was even scared to put my head underwater and am so glad this fear is now conquered.
I managed to compete successfully two dives of the day. Can't thank you enough Audrey.
Billy the photographer was there to capture plenty of amazing photos of this experience for a friend and I.
My friend did her Open Water which she loved. She also had an amazing instructor, always felt safe and could see how much she loved her job. Big thank you to Mona also. We had a great day!
My friend is now planning to come back to complete her advanced diving before the end of the month.
Thanks again to Audrey, Mona, Billy, and the rest of the crew at Phoenix Divers, you guys are awesome 👌 👏

Everyone that works at this school is extremely professional and very friendly. We only dove 1 day with them and just in a day they made both of us feel like we were family. We want to thank Charlie in particular for doing our refresher course and taking us out to the amazing twins dive site where we saw an abundance of fish, including species of fish I never knew existed- even saw an giant school of Yellowtail Barracudas, thought it was a wall at first when first I looked at them.
Equipment provided is top notch for rental! Everything was clean, tested regularly, many scuba tanks were less than a year old. Their boat is new and it's big! Was worried about being sea sick from motion but never once did I feel sick on their boats. Loved the free water, coffee, tea, fresh fruit on boat in between dives. Price point was perfect!!! They even have a BBQ get together Twice a week where you can meet and chat with all the other staff and fellow divers!
You can book with them with full confidence that you have a great time, but most importantly you will be safe! They take ever step to make you feel safe and confident before you jump into the water for your dive.

My plans had changed so I started looking for a new dive school and I found Phoenix. One of the selling points was that they have a pool for the early training. I didn't realize how helpful that was until after I had done the initial training. In such a controlled environment it allows for greater comfort and safety.
I had a very minor equipment issue and it was resolved quickly and without issue. I am a bigger guy and they have equipment that fits me. They are quick to resolve any issues that you bring up and they were very professional yet approachable.
My instructor Hugo Tiger was very thorough and patient. He was exceptionally vigilant under the water and I had no concerns whatsoever with my safety while I was diving with him. He demonstrated a great concern for the students and the environment. I would happily train with him again.
The school has a great and friendly atmosphere. I also stayed in the dorms while I was diving and the facilities are good and very convenient. It's literally across the street. The staff speaks English and I never had an issue understanding what they were saying.
My only regret is that I didn't give myself more time on the island to dive with them some more.

I did my open water course with instructor Hugo and it was amazing! I felt totally safe the whole time and had a lot of fun. They had a really nice boat and good equipment as well but most important everybody on phoenix divers is really nice.

I did the open water course beginning of January and had a great experience with Phoenix Divers! My instructor Finn was very patient and could explain everything very well and understandable. After the pool session I didn't feel very comfortable with putting the mask back on under water - so he went with me into the pool the next morning and I could make myself comfortable with this skill before the first open Water session. I could really overcome the doubts and fears I had before about diving and in the end it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere felt laid back and very professional at the same time and the whole team was very welcoming. I can definitely recommend this diving school!

Myself and a friend came to koh tao to get open water certified and can’t recommend Phoenix divers enough! We were taught by Billy who was very patient and kind, made us feel completely at ease and ensured we had a great experience. We left the course feeling like confident divers and excited to continue diving. Highly recommended.

Hi Guys, just a short question from my side, as we are planning to go to Ko Tao and get our OWD done at Phoenix.
Is it worth to book accommodation with Phoenix and stay at AC resort? We are a couple and would not like to stay in a dorm. We would like to have our separate room.
