About
Our dive school wants to give you the customer the best dive experience we possibly can, so for people wishing to take a PADI course we make sure our groups are no bigger than 4 people this enables our experienced instructors to give you plenty of individual attention making you a better and safer diver...for certified people who just want to fun dive our dive leaders are very experienced with all the dive site's around this beautiful island and we have no limit on dive time our boat only goes out once a day for 2 dives so were not restricted by schedules...and our boat does not leave until 11pm this means no setting your alarm at 6.30 your are on holiday after all, also leaving at this time means we arrive at dive sites when other schools are leaving so we can spend more time looking at the fish and not other divers so come join our magical underwater world on the rock (Koh Tao).

I dive with Golden Divers since a few years already and there is still no other choice for me on Koh Tao Island. The multi language stuff (German, French, English, Dutch, Italiano, Thai, Portugese) is extremely friendly and they know the dive sites very good from their long experiences here on Koh Tao. The boat is travelfriendly cause it leaves at 10am - other dive schools also leaves between 6am & 8am. I did my rescue cours at Golden and it was one of the best trainings I could get - thanks to Jaco & Jeff. You should go there and dive with them. Always small groups and great divemasters to dive with. If you haven’t dived yet, they also do try dives... great way to start a open water course too. The dive school is located in Mae Haad between songserm & lomprayah pier. You can’t miss it and you shouldn’t too. Dive with Golden Divers you won’t regret it.

We had originally planned to complete our open water course on Koh Toa but due to an ear infection only had one day of diving at the end of our holiday. Spent a few days walking around and talking to different dive schools and got a good vibe from golden divers, they aren't the most expensive or the cheapest, but as so often is the case in life, going for this sector of the market gives you the best value for money and this certainly seemed to be the case here. The same 2 x dives were 700 baht cheaper than a diving school next door and the equipment and instruction was of good quality. We had an instructor and a dive master supervising our first dive and an instructor and dive master watching over us 2 and 1 experienced diver for the second, so staff to student ratio couldn't have been better. The instructor Geoff spoke great English, and was a great character. Very disappointed I couldn't complete the open water course but there is always next time. These guys are certainly worth a look for your diving training or trip out if you are already certified.

Once you land on Ko Tao you will find Golden Divers while turning left from the pier (the one that sonserm joint comapny's boats arrive) or turning right from another pier (the one that lomprayah speed boats come to) and take 3-minute walk to find it :-) we checked couple of schools before choosing this one, actually it was earlier recommended by our friend who also did open water course there in June. He and his girlfriend were also totally satisfied with the course taken and people they met there... Just to compare we jumped into other diving centers to find out about prices and get general idea what the course look like. But Golden Divers seemed the best. Very good instructors - especially Steve, who we're diving with and Sebastien-anoter recommended by our friend. Both right people in the right place! Spend really fantastic time on Ko Tao. Thanks again for great adventure and making our first diving experience unfogettable! So if You want to dive on Ko Tao go and check Golden Divers!

My son booked an Advanced Open Water Course and I accompanied him with fun divess. The diving equipment was very unreliable. One time the depth gauge did not work. The valves if the BCDS were leaking several times as well as the o-rings of the first stage. Out of 5 training dives my son got only 1 theory lesson for the night dive. All the other theory lessons were skipped. My son did not receive practical training rather than being part of a group of 5 to 6 fun divers who were lead by a dive instructor. GOLDEN DIVERS rather sells dive certificates rather than supplies proper training leading to certificates. I will file a complaint to PADI as well.

Thank you mister Jan for your feedback. Please let me reply to your complaints. The equipment. All bcd's and regulator sets were purchased last year June and were serviced this year in June. We will be happy to show you the receipts. If a depth gage wasn't working you could have told us on the boat: we always bring spare equipment. You haven't mentioned anything. Academics. I suggest you check with your son to learn that we did go over the knowledge reviews. Unfortunately he had not done the homework so instead of checking his answers we went through the questions and he copied all the answers on his answer sheet. Normally when people show up unprepared like that, we put them in the classroom and have them read the chapters about the adventure dives. But because you and your family showed up too late every day we were so limited in time! Another problem that occurred was that your son agreed to take the Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive. So we went through the academics with him for this dive. Once we were on the boat you decided he had to do the Multi Level Adventure Dive instead. The instructor borrowed an extra dive computer and did what you demanded but it is not at all how we like to work and it doesn't seem fair to make complaints afterwards. Group seize. We like to dive with a maximum of 4 students. However, if friends or family show up and like to dive together we can make exemptions. This was your request: you came along and also brought your two daughters on the first and second day. We are surprised to learn that you complain about the group seize as we went the extra mile to accommodate you? On the last day we even went out to rent extra tanks because you decided last minute that you wanted to come along. We can assure you that no standards were broken. All requirements for the PADI adventure dives have been met and we will be happy to explain this to our PADI office. We are sad to find out you were disappointed, especially because you seemed quite happy to come diving with us and kept coming back. Congratulations however on your son Philip's Advanced certification, he was really pleased about getting the next level.

I would honestly suggest that you go somewhere else in Koh Tao. We chose this place because it was less expensive (7500baht vs. 8600baht without accommodation). Our instructor was really nice, and it was just one instructor for 2 people. However, the equipment was literally terrible. It was our first diving experience, so we didn't really know just how bad it was until we did a fun dive with another company after our open water certification.
The wetsuits were so old that the zippers were broken (I was very cold on one dive and had no idea why until I surfaced and realized my wet suit was completely open). Also, on 3 of the 6 dives we did with Golden Divers, my friend was given completely broken flippers. She's very petite/small, but we specifically asked before signing up with the company if they had sizes to fit her. They lied to us. She never had a wet suit that fit properly and they did not have flippers in her size that were not broken. On one of the dives, they gave her two different flippers. Would not recommend.

My wife and I went out with these guys and there were a few issues. Our first dive was fine, we did red rocks and it it was a great 60 min dive and our dive instructor seemed great. Then the rest of the trip was horrible.

They didn’t tell us that in between dives we would be sitting on their boat for almost 3 hours while they had classes doing check out dives. We patiently waited for our second dive and instead of being pissed we tried to go with the flow. Unfortunately our second dive was the poorest and actually scariest dive we’ve ever been on.

They dropped us well away from the wreck we were suppose to see and there were eight of us. We had to swim against a strong current under water with almost zero visibility at about 65-70 feet. The wreck was so far away that by the time we got to it only one instructor and my wife had enough air (barley) to see it.

It was a terrible experience and I would not recommend them.

Golden Divers is an amazing dive school and you will instantly feel welcomed by them from the moment you first start talking! Eric Martin and Russ are all brilliant and such good fun to go out on the boat with. They made me feel safe and are so knowledgable about the area and the marine life. Diving with them has been the highlight of my trip around Thailand and I'm so happy we chose to dive with them :)
