Johnny guided us through the essentials on our beginner course and took care of us on our dives to Japenese Gardens and Twins.
His knowledge was excellent and we appreciated the way he gave us the opportunity to learn more throughout the day, testing us and giving us an experience whereby we didn’t just have a tour of some excellent sites but continued to learn valuable lessons along the way.
We have done many beginners courses and dives at various locations around the world (we will eventually take the full course!) Each place has presented us with a different experience of diving and has given us a ‘softly, softly’ approach to building up the required muscle memory, knowledge and confidence to come back to diving again.
Johnny pushed us a little bit further towards tackling the padi certification this time. He recognised and understood our level and was keen for us to build on what we had already experienced in diving so far.
With renewed enthusiasm, we look forward to our next dive and we thoroughly recommend choosing Johnny and his colleagues at The Tarna Dive Resort, Koh Tao.

I booked a diving day at Tarna Dive Resort and it was just fantastic!
The registration was extremely straightforward. The organization was ingenious and exactly according to our wishes.
I was able to do 4 dives that day and my two dive masters (someone in the morning and someone in the afternoon) were sensational. The equipment is great.
We were at different dive spots and I could see a lot.
Most of all, the people I had contact with were just awesome. And thank you Jan for organizing the day so well!:)
I can only recommend booking through this provider!

A fabulous experience with a highly professional team.
We arrived late in the evening in the hotel and the dive centre was already closed. However, we had a prompt reply to our WhatsApp message from Jonathan who takes care of the admin side at the centre and half an hour later we were booked in for a refreshers course the following morning and 2 subsequent dives.
We were quickly sorted with equipment that looked very new and seemed well maintained.
Quentin was our diving instructor for the refreshers course. He was very professional, kind, patient and instilled confidence. The experience on the boat was super good too with informative briefings, drinks & snacks. We thoroughly enjoyed the dives as a family. A big shout out to Quentin who took underwater photos of us and the beautiful surroundings which he very kindly shared afterwards: Such a nice souvenir of a wonderful time together. Thank you Quentin!

Nice hotel on the hill. Dive service is on par with affordable price.
Room decor is lovely but the toilet layout should have adjusted for more privacy as not all guests who come for diving are not as close plus electricity down at peak time twice.

I have just completed the PADI Open Water Diving license and PADI Advanced Open Water Diving license with this dive school. I was amazingly lucky to get Federico as my instructor. Not only was he a fantastic teacher who patiently answered every question, never rushed through anything, but he is also a really decent and interesting guy to talk to. I didn’t come to Koh Tao seeking to complete the advanced diving license course as well but the instruction was so good from Federico that I jumped at the chance. If you come here make sure you ask for him!
The other staff at the dive school are also a great bunch of people who genuinely care about their students. They all do everything they possibly can to look after people and make sure, no matter how nervous or scared, that they experience the wow moments of scuba diving.
The school has the only saltwater confined swimming pool on the island and this means you can practice skills in authentic conditions at several different depths. The very comfortable dive boat and it’s crew, especially Nye are also excellent. Nye works extremely hard, sleeping on the boat overnight but never complains. Several times I watched him take great care of seasick guests like they were his own family - that guy absolutely deserves a promotion!
Thank you all for a superb experience I will never ever forget!

Simply the best! We enjoyed a great snd funny time there. Our experience at Tarna Align was outstanding! The instructors were professional, friendly, funny and provided excellent guidance throughout the course. The facilities were well-maintained, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I felt completely prepared and safe during my dives, thanks to their thorough training. I would highly recommend Tarna Align to anyone interested in diving.
Looking forward to diving with John and Steve again soon! Thanks a lot for the holiday of our life!

My wife completed her PADI open water course in the excellent salt water training pool and then went on a number of excellent dives. She is not a strong swimmer but Andi, her instructor was brilliant with her and gave her the confidence to really have a go for it. She successfully passed her course. I went for a series of day dives and these were all very well managed and arranged with plenty of good quality kit available to use. The instructors under the water were attentive of their divers and made a special effort to find fish and items of interest. We went to the dive sites on an excellent boat and had refreshment provided as part of the day. All in all an excellent dive experience for both a complete novice and a limited experience Advanced Open Water diver. I would recommend the dive centre to anyone going to the island.

As a couple travelling to Koh Tao, we thought we'd try some diving having only snorkeled before, since we were staying in the only resort with a salt water pool on Koh Tao we thought why not!
The first day we went over theory and practiced in the pool everything we would later be doing out at sea. Then moving onto the (very well equipped) boat with a very kind and experienced boat boy Nie. We saw a selection of Koh Tao's best dive spots with some incredible corals and fish. 🐠
We never felt under any pressure if there were to be something we wouldn't feel comfortable with as we'd gone through everything beforehand.
Our instructor Kray was so much fun and made us feel safe when we were fairly nervous! He was the best teacher; kind, patient, thorough, knowledgeable and funny! Whilst doing the Open Water Course with Kray we felt so safe and had so much fun we decided to do the Advanced Diving course too and try out night diving and go even deeper! Prior to this my boyfriend had a fear of the ocean and now he's a fully certified PADI advanced diver 🙌🏻
Would 100% recommend this dive resort & 110% recommend our instructor! 👌🏻

I did my padi open water certification at the tarna dive resort. The place is excellent, with a great structure. Our instructor, Ernesto Soriano, made this new experience very safe and fun, with his great teaching and good humor.

Completed my PADI Open Water course here at Tarna. Our instructor Ernie made us feel safe, relaxed and happy the whole time. The pool was super clean and the equipment was great. This was a great place for beginners so I would highly recommend to anyone considering completing the course.
