Got my open water certificate by the instruction of Ras. I would highly recommend going with him, he was as supportive, knows his s**t! and what I really admired about him was his passion for diving and all the marine life. Felt super safe with him at all times and a very laid back nice guy.
The only problem we had was the booking, as it's advertised that you can get 10% discount staying at the resort or from the courses. We enquired about staying and the open water but we were automatically assigned 10% discount to the room. Of course the 10% discount applied to the course would have saved us more money. I tried to discuss with reception but they stated that it had already been applied to the room and we cannot now have the 10% on the course. It was all very hush hush and that's the only thing that annoyed me.
I would however highly recommend good time for doing your open water or any diving and if you have Ras you will really enjoy it and will be in very safe hands.

Tim took a few of us out for some climbing on Koh Tao. We had two kids (ages 7 and 8) with us and it was their first time climbing outside. Tim made sure we went to very accessible places with great first climbs for the kids but also some fun and challenging climbs for the adults. The gear was top notch and the top rope set up was great, I had no worries about any safety issues. If you want to do some climbing while on the island, I highly recommend Goodtime Adventures!!

My boyfriend and I came to Koh Tao with the intention of only doing one or two fun dives. We decided to do the open water certification with Good Time and had Jordan as our instructor. He was awesome!!!! He is so knowledgeable and you can tell he is truly passionate about what he does. The mask skills totally freaked me out to the point where I almost quit. He made me feel comfortable and confident! I couldn’t have done it without him. We LOVED our experience with this company and highly recommend it to anyone interested in scuba or climbing!!

After having the best experience completing the open water course with Goodtime last Spring, I decided to return for the Advanced Adventurer dive course in August and plenty of fun dives to follow, both in August and January. Goodtime again provided an outstanding course and led excellent fun dives! I was lucky enough to have head instructor Dan lead my advanced course - his professionalism paired with his sense of humor made me feel comfortable learning the advanced dive skills while also having fun. Following the advanced course, I did fun dives with various guides including Dan, Harrison, and Hannah. What an awesome group of people! Each instructor and dive master was upbeat, positive, professional, and knowledgeable. They constantly checked in on each diver, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and was truly having fun. I can’t speak highly enough of everyone I interacted with at Goodtime, including the office staff. Tim and Charly in the office were quick to answer any questions I had, were always friendly and made sure to check in on how my dives went each day. Massive thanks to everyone at Goodtime. I’ll definitely be back for more diving and highly recommend that they be your go-to dive shop on your visit to Koh Tao!

I did the diving for beginners with Goodtime and it was beyond amazing! I was really nervous, but the crew was so enthusiastic which really calmed my nerves. So grateful for our instructor Ras, he made us feel safe and entertained the entire dive, couldn’t have asked for a better experience and instructor. Would choose this dive school again anytime.

Done the open water certification with goodtime. Raz lead our training and he went above and beyond, he clearly loves what he does and he’s a cool guy. He gave us lots of extra information that he didn’t need to tell us but thought we would benefit from, i appreciated this a lot and it shows he has his trainees best interests at heart by teaching us as much as possible in the time we had. Overall i’m super happy with the experience i had and would highly recommend Goodtime and Raz. I saw a lot of other scuba groups out in the dive sites with other companies, and they had what looked like very large groups, the small group we had made me feel much more at ease in the water as it is easier for Raz to keep an eye on us. This was one of the things that made me glad I chose Goodtime for my course. I highly recommend them and will return to them in the future to further my diving credentials.

I did my advanced adventurer with Ras last december and it was amazing. He was a great teacher and very nice in general. The 5 dives were beatiful, especially the deep dive which had a good visibility. We were only two of us in the class so that was great as well.
Overall amazing experience. Would recommend !

I completed my SSI instructor crossover earlier this year with GTA Diving, and the GT Pro center. Gaz was an excellent instructor trainer, and went above and beyond to ensure we got the most out of the crossover. We thoroughly learned the ins and outs of the SSI systems and style of teaching. If you are interested in doing any professional level SSI course, be it Divemaster, Instructor, or a crossover, I can't recommend Goodtimes, and in particular Gaz enough. He goes well above the mandatory standards and offers valuable mentorship in many areas. It was a fantastic learning experience.
I can't speak much for fun diving and recreational course here from a lack of experience, but Goodtimes as a whole is full of amazing and friendly staff. No matter what you do here, you are sure to have a fun time and receive top notch training.

A big thank you to Myo today for taking excellent care of us! Even though it rained during our climbs, Myo took us to some great hiking spots with amazing viewpoints. Parents will especially appreciate how friendly and supportive Myo is of the kids. Highly recommend!

My girlfriend and I had the most amazing diving experience with Bart. We were at different levels and he made the experience apt for us both. He is a great teacher who taught me the basics really well and fast. My girlfriend had dived a couple of times before and said it was the best dive she has ever done. He took amazing pictures of us and took the time to show and identify exciting marine life while diving. Also, he made it really fun by showing us different depths and even going under a coral arch. I highly recommend this!!!!!

Hi Danish
Yes I believe we can help you with all your desires!
For a non certified diver we offer half day try dives from the boat in nice small groups. Your first dive also includes a shallow water training session to make sure you are safe an comfortable then you go for a nice dive on the reef. This initial session is 2,500 Baht, then you have the option of doing additional dives for only 1,000 Baht.
Our morning boats are from 08.00 - 13.00 or you can do afternoon diving from 13.00 - 18.00
Our snorkel trip runs a little differently to most others on Koh Tao, as we run half day speedboat cruises in nice small groups. With just 10 people on board, as well as a dive professional to guide you and stay with you in the water, we try to time our trips to avoid other tours and big boat visits to bays and viewpoints.
The cruise typically comprises of visits to three different snorkel locations, as well as visiting the famous Koh NangYuan islands where we head up to the view point for that famous selfie shot! To help avoid crowds on the island we usually run this trip in the afternoon, from 1.40pm until 6.00pm, so you’ll be back in time for a sunset beer.
The trip costs 1,200THB per person including mask & snorkel rental, Koh NangYuan island fees, and the guide.
We also have a beautiful resort right on Sairee beach with a selection of bungalows in a lush tropical garden setting. Fan bungalows from 800 and AC rooms from 1,000.
At the end of the day you can relax at our chilled out beach bar and restaurant, enjoy cool beer and feast of fresh seafood BBQ.
If you are staying in the resort we do offer discounts on selected activities :)
Kind Regards
Elias O

Where on the Island is recommended to cliff-jump? 10m+
GTAdventures
Koh Tao, Thailand1,375 contributions
Usually the best place to go cliff jumping is on the east coast of the island. I wouldn't recommend doing any of those jumps at this time of the year as the wind and waves are coming from that side of the island. Starting april the cliff jumping season should start again

Hi,
Check out our Island Snorkel Cruise!
Our snorkel trip runs a little differently to most others on Koh Tao, as we run half day speedboat cruises in nice small groups. The trip costs 1,200THB per person including mask & snorkel rental, Koh NangYuan island fees, and the guide.
To book we’ll take full payment of 1,200THB per person which is payable using debit or credit card, or PayPal account, and has a 4% processing fee. Let us know if you have any other questions, or would like to book!

Est-il possible de combiner sur la même journée d'excursion, baptême de plongée pour une personne pendant que le reste de la famille dont 3 enfants (11, 9 et 3 ans) font du snorkelling?

Yes it is. You can do a half day try dive and at the same time your family can snorkel as the boat will be going to nice shallow dive sites good for beginner scuba diving and snorkeling. We can also arrange a private snorkel guide for you children to guide them around the snorkel site and make sure they are safe.

I am coming to Koh Tao for 5 days in end of July with another 5 people. We would quite like to rent the boat for half the day or the day if possible. What's the best way of going about this? How often is the boat booked out?
GTAdventures
Koh Tao, Thailand1,375 contributions
Hi there! We would love to have you out on our boat - the best option for you would be our Private Boat Charter, which is normally done as a half day trip. The easiest way for us to book it all, as well as run you through all the options for potential add ons to the trip, is via email - just let me know the best way to get in touch, and I'll send you all the details. At the moment we've got good availability towards the end of July, however from mid-July onwards the island can get quite busy so let us know if you have a rough idea on dates and I can let you know all the options and details!

hi! do you need any previous diving experience to participate in the dives here ?
GTAdventures
Koh Tao, Thailand1,375 contributions
Hi Caity W,
Thanks for your question. We are happy to let you know that you do not need any previous experience to dive here with us! As a first timer, you have 2 options:
1) Complete the entry level certification - Open Water Diver - which takes 2.5 days of teaching time and gives you a lifetime diving licence you can use anywhere in the world down to a depth of 18m
2) Do a Try Dive experience. This takes just half a day and gives you the full dive experience without the need to do the certification course. You get some instruction and skills training and a full dive experience. It does not result in a certification but gives the same experience for those with budget or time constraints.
We look forward to seeing you soon! Anything else, please let us know! :-)

bonjour faites-vous les excursions ou un tour de l'île pour du snorkeling?
GTAdventures

Hi, we certainly do do snorkel cruises around Koh Tao
We operate our snorkel trips differently than the rest of the ones available on Koh Tao. We run half day speedboat cruises in a small group - maximum 10 people on the boat at any one time, always guided by one of our dive professionals who are there in the water with you. We also time our trips to try to avoid other tours that visit in big boats with many people in them.
The cruise comprises of visits to two snorkel locations (around 1 hour in each location) as well as visiting the famous and beautiful Koh NangYuan islands where you can walk up to the viewpoint and get that amazing aerial shot.
We do need a minimum of 3 people to run this trip. It's 1200 THB per person and included is mask & snorkel rental, Koh NangYuan island entrance fee and the guide. We run the trip in the afternoon 13:30 to 17:30pm.
I hope this answers your question and many thanks

Hi, We are arriving in November to Koh Tao and we want to go to Angthong National Marine Park whit kayak. How much it cost? Thanks a Lot!
GTAdventures
Koh Tao, Thailand1,375 contributions
Hi Florencia,
Ang Thong Marine Park is a long way from Koh Tao - it takes a few hours by boat so there are no day trips available except with private speedboats. Occasionally there are 3 day 2 night trips from Koh Tao available. Try Unseen Tours for this.
Koh Phangan or Koh Samui are much closer if you are visiting them - then a group day trip is possible. It's probably around 2000 THB per person. I'm not sure of kayak rental is included in that price.
Safe travels!
Hey!
We're planning our day to Nang Yuan, is zip lining between the islands is still possible? We've seen blogs about zip lining and cliff jumping at the islands but haven't found a recent 2016 post about it.

Hi Jessi V,
Thanks for messaging us. Unfortunately we operated the zipline for the landowner but he decided to take it down a few years ago.
You can snorkel and there is a viewpoint you can walk up to on Koh NangYaun while you are there.
If you staying on Koh Tao we're a dive and a climbing school as well as an adventure centre so we have lots of activities that will tick the heights & adrenaline boxes for you. Have a look at our website to see what we have on offer :)
