Deaf Gecko No Longer Exists!
Apr 2014 • Family
We went to Phi Phi a few days ago hoping to climb with Deaf Gecko.
Spent 1 1/2 hours looking for it. Finally someone in the know told us they have moved to Australia.
So, we went with Ibex climbing in the center of the town near the pier.
Had a great experience with them and they confirmed that Deaf Gecko is no longer.
Not sure why they would move and not notify trip advisor.

Deaf Gecko exceeded expectations!

In all honesty, I wasn't expecting to be blown away by the climbing at Koh Phi Phi, having just come from Railay Bay which is more well-known for climbing. But I was pleasantly surprised after signing up for a half day of guided climbing with Deaf Gecko. My instructor was Bob, who I immediately felt comfortable with. Bob was not only enjoyable to hang out and talk with, but gave me really great guidance and help with my technique. I feel like a stronger climber since climbing at Koh Phi Phi with Bob. Can't wait to come back and climb in Koh Phi Phi again. Thanks Bob and Deaf Gecko!

Fantastic climbing. Kind, patient, safe, and fun guides!

Just finished climbing with Deaf Gecko today. Both of us beginners.
Jude and her friend Jonas were fantastic - great attitude, encouraging, helpful, patient, and safety-concious climbing instructors. Made us feel really welcome and contributed hugely to how much we enjoyed our day!

Equipment seems top-notch and appropriate to the limestone cliffs of Phi Phi (everything provided, including insurance). Beautiful views over the island. Strongly recommend climbing in the afternoon (2pm instead of 10am) if you do the half day as it's much cooler.

We had to cancel our pre-paid reservation once as I was sick and this was no problem at all which was really kind given the short notice. Rescheduled for a couple of days later.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

Sorry it took so long for me to post a review

Hey guys,
My name is Tom and I went to Kho Phi Phi for a week or so back in April 2013 and I pretty much just hung out with the folks at the deaf gecko, I had a blast with them all, we went on a really cool excursion "deep water soloing." they were such comfortable people to be around. they showed me around the Island, good ol' Bob took me scuba diving. and Judy and "dog gone" Sorry brother I can't remember your name right now, took me deep water soloing here it is August and I can't remember what all I wanted to say about how awesome they were. Ok it's like this, you can just sit and relax in the hammocks (read a book drink B.S. with all the interesting folks you are bound to meet), or if you are up to it, go rock climbing deep water soloing (Adventure type stuff) either way you will have a great time I GUARANTEE it. I only regret I did not write the review sooner, and ever having to leave. Well, I hope this review and pictures help many of you decide to go pay them a visit, once again sorry it took me forever to post my review. best wishes to you all. Tom

We turned up at Deaf Gecko Bar at about 5am after travelling by long boat from the other side of Phi Phi. Jude and Deco were waiting for us and we had a coffee with them while getting our gear on!
Once we were ready we headed to the climbing spot with Jude. The difficultly of the climbs were perfect (my partner and I were both beginner climbers but otherwise fairly fit) and would be altered depending on ability.
Jude was a great teacher and she helped out whenever we got stuck on the wall.
As the sun rose, the view from the top was amaaaaazing. The best spot to do a climb like this as the reward at the top is spectacular.
I definitely recommend Deaf Gecko Rock Climbing.

Not only a great spot to climb but the guys running the place are super friendly and helpful.

This was a definite highlight to our trip around South East Asia and a GREAT start to our morning :).

Absolutely fantastic! Myself and a friend went rock climbing as recommended by someone on the island..both being beginners we thought why not. What a great afternoon. The views for the top are the best on the Island. A family of monkeys even turned up to say hi.

Thanks again

If you're heading to Phi Phi, you have to make Deaf Gecko a stop! Climbing on Tonsai Tower is wonderful in the late afternoon and gets you away from the crowds. I did deep water soloing the next day, and it was a blast. Great people, great atmosphere, and fun cliff jumping!
The people that run this joint, Judy and Arden, are rock stars, the nicest people you can meet. They'll give you all the info you need for the island and around, and tell you some of the best stories you'll hear! Thanks again for the great times!

Great fun, great view
Did a climbing discovery afternoon.
Very safe, very good instruction, good variety of difficulty levels, had never to climb the same route twice. And as a reward a beautiful view over koh phi phi.
