I love to club, but this bass rattles through the entire beach and all of the resorts with songs from back in the 90’s on repeat through the night. Such a stunning beach and destroyed by naff lights and speakers on the edge of blowing. It’s so loud you can’t even talk if you’re standing on the beach, forget about being able to sleep in any of the hotels.
Stayed here 4 nights and was the biggest mistake. Tacky bucket sales, yelling out for massages and the exact same party on repeat every night.
If you’re booking a hotel along this beach, prepare to be awake from 7pm - 5am every night.

Had Rin is provably the most known town on the island due to the fact that the famous Full moon party takes place here. But it is also the most crazy and hectic as well. Since there are many nicer places to see I generally avoid it.

Be careful at the Full Moon parties. My son was robbed at knifepoint last night. It’s not a safe place. If you go, stay close to friends, only drink from your own bottle, and stay in well- lit areas. Don’t flash your cash.

Really beautiful the sand is soft and water is clean.
There aren’t many people there maybe because it’s not full moon party
I stayed there till the night,it is truly the best beach I have ever met!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!超级棒

Nice white sand and a long stretch of beach to watch the sunrise. Only problem was it was littered from the post apocalyptic full moon party. Some nice hotels in the area and also nice little town to get massages.

Beautiful beach, but it's not clean. A lot of broken glass, and a lot of straws/trash everywhere. Ended up walking the beach picking up a lot of trash, mostly straws and broken glass. Wish they did not give people straws in the bars/restaurants nearby.

Beautiful beach and very soft sand to go barefoot on.
Apart from Zen Beach, this is one of my other favorite beaches to be on. Especially when it’s not full moon party time.
Though the full moon party can be fun once in a while too.
it’s very family friendly by the way if you are curious about it and want to see it. The fire shows are great but now it’s getting crowded again post-covid.
Check out Sand & Tan next to Tommy’s Resort if you do go (review on that later)

We drove from our hotel to Haad Rin. We visited the beach in an afternoon. The Haad Rin has white and fine sand. The beach was clean and beautiful. Shops were out of business. The beachfront restaurants were opened.

In April 2007 I had to witness the bar staff of the Drop-In-Bar at Haad Rin Nok beach murder a british guy and the night after this a person from Israel. After the israelian person's death the military from Surat Thani closed the Bar for one night. The night after that they were able to open again at Full Moon for the insane party. I know, it is a long time ago but as I do research about this topic a lot, crime on Haad Rin Nok has not decreased since then. Search the internet and you won't have a hard time to find out that I am not making up a fairy tale. This place, especially Drop-In-Bar at Haad Rin Nok is an AWFUL and perverted place that is not worth a visit.

I attended 5 full moon parties in 1999 in my backpacking days & they were superb. On my return to Ko Phangan on honeymoon, it seemed like a must visit.
Arrived about 10 pm to a scene of pure carnage! The beach was packed with mainly youngster hell bent on getting totally smashed. The chilled out hippy vibe has gone, along with the laughing & fun. Most people looked like zombies, incapable of standing up in a lot of cases. Broken glass everywhere & the odd fight thrown in for good measure.
We had a few drinks & a good look around before leaving at 2 am with a sense of relief. Maybe I'm getting old??

Which is the best place to stay in Haad Rin or nearby areas. With family

Don’t stay on this beach. You won’t get a wink of sleep with the unnecessarily loud bar music, blasting 90’s tunes over and over until 5am every night. It rattles the whole beach and was really frustrating after
Day 1, until day 2 it repeated all over again.

Some are unscrupulous, in that say you rent for a couple of days and return the bike they will look all over it and will normally find a small scrape on it , this they will charge a large amount for ie: 20 times what the rental cost was ! If you decide not to pay, they will threaten you with the police .
Now this is not all of them , so photograph all round the bike before taking , then you have your proof .
Its the same as the Jet Ski rentals , beware .

Si vous n'avez pas envie de vous enterrer sur la côté est, le mieux est de loger sur la cote ouest, aux alentours de thong sala...et de louer un scooter pour découvrir le reste de l'île. Évitez Hat rin, la plage la plus pourrie de Thaïlande, sauf si vous êtes amateur de grosse fête super défoncée....
