Reached via a snorkelling long tail boat trip this bay is pretty with soft sand and clear water. There are several bars and a few places to stay which look like small bungalows. No public chairs or umbrellas. Nice for a couple of hours.

Lovely beach, clear water, beautiful. Very basic accommodation, you can pay more for air con. 600bht for a night.with a fan.
Cheaper is available as low as 350bht.
Beer and food pretty expensive. I've also had a bad stomach since returning so would probably do vegan diet if I returned.

The best beach on the island! It’s highly inaccessible but that could be a good thing. Hike here from nearby beaches to have a great day out. The beach itself is stunning and the water crystal clear. Great place to visit and tick off the list of beautiful things to see on koh panghan

White sand a crystal clear water, however the beach is packed with people so not so relaxing. Really hard to get to and from too, at certain times of day the long tails can’t come fully to shore so u have to swim out to them even if it’s with luggage. However all the restaurants and bars along the beach are relatively cheap and have good food (best is on the left side of the beach at Smile bungalows imo).

We had a moped and followed google maps, until we got to a dirt track. Another couple were doing the same, so we followed them. It got very bumpy and sand piles made it slippery.

We got to the bike park and it said you can call for a 4x4 to come pick u up for 100baht per person.

We decided to walk, it was very uneven and steep. We got to where the road splits to beach 1 or beach 2.
Luckily a 4x4 truck stopped and we all hopped in the back, being given a free bumpy massage to the resort. They didn't work there, so that ride was free!

The beach itself was ok. Not too much to do. A few restaurants and shops. The weather was a bit windy, so didn't brave the water.

I heard the hike from Chakolum is 1 hour.
And there are water taxi boats that also go to bottle beach.

This is a great workout!!...do NOT expect a leisurely stroll on a trail, rather, it is a full-on rigorous hike up and hike down. It is HOT and humid so bring tons of water and wear good, stable shoes with good treads!! Wear bug spray and go early enough that the sun isn't setting during the return leg of your hike.

It took us an hour & 15 min to hike there, and an hour to hike back....we also stopped once we made it to Bottle Beach for a swim, a break and a small meal. The beach is actually named due to the water bottles that mark the trail along the way.

To get to the start of the trail, continue past Coconut Beach Bungalows at Haad Khom and park at the small parking area at the very end of the paved road. Walk down the hill continuing on the dirt road.... about 40 meters, give or take, and on the right of the road there is a small path starting up the hill. There is no sign or marker to signify the trail....just a small path....start climbing and you will start to see plastic water bottles stuck on the trees marking the way!!
(Do not go by the Thai wooden sign at the parking lot....that is not the trail!)

Once at Bottle Beach, you'll love it. Beautiful beach...long and sandy, not too many people, and the Bottle Beach resort has a great restaurant with friendly staff, good food, and cold waters and beers!!! Be sure to refill with waters for the hike back and put on more bug spray.

Also we're pretty sure if you don't want to do the hike in the reverse direction, there'll be a long tail that would be willing to take you back.

Be sure to stop and look around when you take water breaks on your hike as there are some great views to be had. You'll also feel like you've sweat out about 2kg of water weight by the end of the day, so have fun and enjoy the workout!!!

We decided to hike to the bottle beach, which was supposed to take an hour. So a taxi brought us from our hotel in Haad salad to the entrance of the bootle beach hike. After a short while the path devided into two directions. There was no sign where to go. We went right and followed the bottles, which are placed on branches and sticks all along the way.

In the beginning the hike was quite easy, leading us into the jungle. But after a while the path became more and more difficult. The dry sand and the dry leaves on the ground were slippery. The path became super steep and dangerous. We had to climb rocks up and down. A few times the path got so narrow we were afraid to fall down the rocky coastline. We started to feel like Indiana Jones, hanging on branches and roots. If the trek would not have been that exhausting we would have returned. But there was always hope that we would be there soon.

Since there was a storm last week some of the bottles leading the way were lost and the trek was additionally blocked by fallen trees in some areas. We had to swarm out a few times to find the next bottles. The path became even more and more difficult and exhausting! We only brought along a big bottle of water each, which was a huge mistake! We started to feel weak and dizzy and needed more and more breaks.

In the end it took us almost four hours to arrive at the bottle beach. My shirt was torn, my friend had a bloody knee from a fall. I walked into a spiderweb with a spider and my friend accidently stepped on a brown snake. But we also crossed a few beautiful view points and one time we even saw monkeys.

When we finally arrived, we only had half an hour left before the last long tail boat left. No time left for snorkeling at the bottle beach. We would therefore recommend taking the boat in the first place. We would not hike this trek again. Seriously, I already hiked in the Australian Djungle with leeches all over me and spiders everywhere and even that was easier! So before you go we recommend:

- don't go alone, it's too dangerous! There is no mobile reception in the djungle!
- only go when you are really fit! Don't take young kids with you! Don't go if you have medical conditions.
- wear solid shoes and long trousers
- bring at least 2 liters of water, a snack and sun screen with you.

Since the trek was supposed to take only one hour we think that the trek is actually a network of several different treks. On our way we found out that there are several other bottle paths crossing ours. Unless you take a local guide with you be prepared to take one off the longer routes by accident as there are no signs en route except for the bottles.

I strongly advise against these bungalows which are miserable cabins.
The bungalows are kilometers from any shop, scooter rental. We were obliged to pay a fortune to take us there by their private shuttles. No public taxi. We were treated like cattle in the back of a pick up with our luggage. The road was horrible and impracticable. We drove into the mud and the jungle, the car almost twice turned around, we wanted to get out of the car but the driver laughed us in the nose without even stopping.

The bungalows are vulgar humid and moldy shacks, the beds did not have sheets, a simple towel to cover themselves. The bed was full of ticks !! the bathroom is not one. No toilet paper, mold on the walls, cockroaches, no flushing ...

Behind the bungalows is a dump, rubbish litter the floor, a strong smell of urine and mold all over the bungalow. We had to stay 3 nights, we only stayed one and we did not stay in the bungalow. We waited all night on the beach to leave this nightmare in the early morning.

This is a beach from the postcard. Peaceful, beach with white send, clean blue-green water. Nice restaurants with inexpensive offer of Thai food and drinks.
Accessible with a boat
