About
Phangan Muay Thai & Fitness Gym is located on the beautiful tropical island of Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand. It's the first Muay Thai Gym in Koh Phangan and has been around for over 15 years teaching Muay Thai to both Thais and foreigners of all levels. The gym offers professional Muay Thai training from their highly experienced and qualified instructors for all age groups ranging from beginners to professionals. We make it a priority to keep the student to trainer ratio low so that each student gets the proper attention and guidance they need from their trainers. The gym also has a fully equipped fitness gym on premises and a fully stocked muay thai shop with dietary supplements.

Over the course of multiple trips to Thailand I've visited different gyms, but Chorenrit Muay Thai is my favorite by far! A few weeks ago I trained at the gym again after a first visit 2 years before and I enjoyed it very much. The student/trainer ratio is great and they really care about your progress. They do a great job with both beginners and more experienced people, while at other gyms they just put you together and teach you the same things. Besides quality training, the trainers know how to have some fun as well, which gives training at this gym a little extra. I've visited both small and bigger gyms on Samui and Phuket, but if I ever return to Thailand for training I would pick Chorenrit MT for sure! Keep up the good work and wish you guys all the best!

I stayed in Koh Phangan for two weeks and trained at this gym twice a day everyday. Using the weights room in the morning and training Muay Thai classes in the evenings.
The 2 hour classes generally followed the same format: 20 minutes warm up of skipping, group stretch, 4 rounds of shadow boxing then bag work followed by either clinching, sparring or technique. The class is great fun and accessible for all levels from complete beginner to competing fighters. With four trainers running the sessions there is always a chance for some 1-1 training but not as much as I'd have hoped for when classes are busy. However, full 1-1 training is available to book outside of classes.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with training and general life on the island.
Optional meals were also provided by the gym owner.
There are a small number of rooms available to rent as well as mopeds.
The gym has been newly equipped and has plenty of free weights, resistance machines and cv machines.
I would absolutely highly recommend this gym. Met some friends for life through this place. Osss <3

Friends
I did the all inclusive package for a month that included a room, two meals a day, training twice a day and scooter hire.

Rob and Srie were awesome hosts very helpful if you needed anything on the island and Srie's cooking was better then all the Restaurants I tried, the training was great all the trainers were very experienced they were great at making sure you learnt all the Muay Thai techniques, they were awesome with everyone from the beginners to the experienced fighters and they also made the classes a lot of fun at the same time!

I had a blast staying there and will definitely be back in the future!

Please bear-in-mind that I trained here 4 times only for fitness and pumping iron, not for any muay thai boxing training. I saw others doing the 1-on-1 muay thai boxing training and it looked pretty high quality however my review is the point of view from someone who just wants a good work-out with free weights and a couple machines.

Pros:
- Decent selection of weights machines, mostly in decent condition.
- Not too many people, i.e. not too busy.
- Good amount of spacing, not too claustrophobic

Cons:
- 200 baht for per session is reasonable (esp if the customer service is better) but it's a bit high relative to the gym quality and the economics of the island.
- No treadmill, maybe to save on the power bill? Yes, there were other CV options like cross-trainers, exercise bikes and skipping ropes... unless you rise at dawn it's much too hot to go running outside.
- Very few fans, so the whole place is giant sweatpit. Yes, I know it's a tropical island and we all sweat during a work-out, but you will sweat litres because of the very little natural cross-ventilation in the structure design. More fans would also help get rid of the mozzies who bite you like crazy every afternoon.
- Some surfaces are grimy, it's not really a big deal for me, but nonetheless it loses a point for hygiene.
- They stream music off online radio, and sometimes it's good i.e. some deep minimal house, other times it's Nicki Minaj which makes your ears bleed. Brought my own headphones but I couldn't drown out the cheesy RNB pop.

In summary - a good gym, I had some good work-outs here.

Trained here for 21 days and got more than I could have ever asked for...I was soo much one on one with the trainers that I learnt soo much in that time. The trainers and owners are so friendly and couldn't do enough for you not to mention they also know how to have fun too! I stayed in a beautiful sitcom bungalow of theirs and it was spacious and in a lovely spot in the forest just off ban tai!! I'd live there if work didn't get in my way!! :)

I am leaving Chorenrit tomorrow with great sadness; my experience has been amazing from start to finish.

The owners are super helpful and I stayed in one of their Jungle Bungalows which is clean, spacious and has everything you need for your stay.

The best part had to be the fabulous trainers and the atmosphere in the gym. All trainers give you so much of their time and attention during the group session, that often you feel as if it's a PT session. I have learnt so much during my stay and I left every session feeling exhausted, invigorated and looking forward in anticipation to the next session! No one day is ever the same with new things being taught. Really great for all levels of experience.

I can't recommend this place enough. From the owners, to the trainers to the wonderful people I met at the gym. I will definitely be back!

Ive trained at a few gyms in Thailand with varying levels of facilities but with the training roughly being the same.
I can honestly say Chorenrit stands out simply due to the atmosphere of the training sessions. Relaxed yet tough, fun yet disciplined.
Some gyms ive been at had trainers who acted as though you were an inconvenience or who had no patience with beginners, even openly mocking them. At Chorenrit theres none of that. The trainers are superb whether youre set for a fight or its your first ever taste of muay thai. The training is varied and focused, you wont be doing the same thing every day like a lot of places. Ive enjoyed my muay thai more here than anywhere else and my only regret is I didnt stay longer.

I wanted to workout here for a week and bought a 7 day pass for 600 baht. After the first workout there I decided that I have to quit it. It is unbelievable hot and there a incredible much mosquitos. I've been wearing leggings as a guy + spray but got still bitten 1000 times.
Ich a professional Physique guy and worked out at lots of gyms but here is a good workout impossible!!
As I asked to get my money back and pay 200 baht for 1 workout the owner became aggressive and sayed that it is my own mistake.
NEVER EVER GO HERE!!!!
When it is raining the roof is leaking and everything becomes wet and dirty + a few machines don't work (e.g. Leg curl)

This couple paid for a week gym use and after there first workout went home and never said a thing. If then and there they had a problem with the gym I would be happy to just charge them for the day. They came next day and said "it was too hot for them to use the gym and wanted refund". I asked them "why didn't they say anything yesterday after there first workout?" There reply " Oh yes it's my fault I should have said something" Told them I couldn't refund them the money and they got very upset and threatened to write a bad review. Yes this is an open air gym and is the first gym on the island over 15 years old. There are a few leaks when it rains and things do rust quite quickly in the humidity. One machine the reverse leg curl was not working at the time because the cable broke and was getting replaced. I would think that Mr. Professional Physique guy would understand that things do break in a gym from time to time :p Funny that we are the biggest and busiest gym on the island but he doesn't find it possible to have a good workout here yet nobody else complains.
