This beach is one the south side of KP, with good views of Koh Samui! I'll just say there are many other beaches on KP that are much nicer.

Being close to Haad Rin and the full moon party, will depend on whether you're there during FMP events as to how busy it is... Some areas maybe noisy with party goers where as some areas are quiet. It's a long beach...so will vary.

There are hundreds of resorts dotted along the beach. Beware some charge a minimum 3 days during the FMP times. Other resorts around KP don't do that.. It's easy to get a taxi to the FMP and back.

There are lots of different types of restaurants and bars along the main road, that would suite most tastes.

Beware that the main road has lots more traffic than most other areas of KP...drive with caution.
Personally not a beach area I would choose to stay! But there are a few restaurants I like to go to in the area!

As they say here, "up to you" if you choose to stay along this area!

This beach is quite big. The problem is that the water is quite shallow on this side of Koh Phangan and is not realy a place for swimers. It has a small marina that is limited for sailors. The beach is clean but many of the resorts are old and put all the waste water direcly into the bay, not very hygenique. The view is nice with Koh Samui just over the waters. Fishermans restaurant is on this beach and is a must. Go and make your own opinion.

Having arrived there just after they had had storms and some of the beach was washed away from outside our villa this did not hinder our stay in anyway, fantastic for couples also families.

Beautiful idyllic beach, perfect for a romantic sunset stroll.

Not a lot there apart from a beach front thai massage place with beds over looking the sea, but that’s the beauty of this place in my opinion.

Worth a visit but do bring your own supplies as there’s nothing on the beach but a few little bits on the road down towards the beach.

We are staying in Awe Resort right on Baan Tai beach. This is one of my favourite beaches here as it is nice and quiet (apart from Full Moon)! It's clean and the water is so clear.. also the kitesurfing takes place here so if you get bored you can watch them. The sunset here is absolutely beautiful, I could never get bored of it here.. great for an early evening stroll.

This beach begings from fishermans pierce and continue for a quite long. There is a night club on the beach so by the evening this place is not peacefull and during moon times, it is very difficult to swim here.

This is a nice beach but completely spoiled by a club right in the middle. I booked for 3 nights at first villa but left after the second night, just could not sleep, so bad as the first villa resort was pretty good but i will never stay again.

I came here for a few days to relax and get away from it all. The guidebooks and internet sites, including Trip Adviser, all said Ban Tai was away from the ruckus of the full moon party. But, every night one resort or another was blasting terrible techno music. Until late, 3 or 4am. I couldn't sleep. Most of the food here was watered down and worse than the most average Thai food in the USA. I write this at the wee hours of the morning because I can't sleep due to the bumping beats next door. I hat eBan Tai.

I stayed in Ban Tai, at one of the resorts facing the beach, however not once did anyone go swimming. It's not a swimming beach, but still nice to look at when you chill at the swimming pool.

Beautiful beach but a lot of building going on, we literally had to walk thorugh the building site to get to the beach. Sure it's going to be fabulous once done.
