Loved learning to scuba with The Dive Inn. Fern, Alex, Wendy and the team take really good care of you from start to finish! You feel safe and like they want you to REALLY relax and enjoy the experience. Big shout out to Alex who turned me from nervous novice to a mermaid! Sail Rock is an awesome site! We will be back!

Absolutely brilliant trip with the Dive Inn crew. They are great at teaching you without you feeling like you are "being taught"...very friendly and professional at the same time. Excellent food and drink provided on the boat and great dive sites. Special thanks to Alex and Vinny.

The Dive Inn was such an incredible experience. Sail Rock was one of the coolest dives I’ve ever done. Vinny was such a great guide and also went above and beyond by showing us around the island. He is also a GREAT musician. Thank you all so so much for making a memorable experience ❤️

My friend and I took our scuba license at the dive inn, and it was super! Thank you so much to Alex for teaching us and showing us the amazing sail rock! We got great service and staff is very friendly and helpful. Even with bad visibility we still had a great time under water. Would definitely recommend the dive inn!
Also thank you to Vinny for taking some videos on our last dive

A great place to get your diving license! It was an absolute amazing experience from beginning to end. I am a person who has never been very comfortable with the ocean, but with help from Alex and the rest of the crew, I haven’t just gotten my diving license, but also feel a lot more comfortable in the ocean overall. Sincerely recommended.

We wanted to do a snorkeling tour on Ko Phangan but they were all too expensive. In the end we asked The Dive Inn if they could take us with them.
We sent a request and we immediately got an answer. They explained us the situation and offered us to join them for a 1000 THB per person. We wrote them back and confirmed the booking.
The next day a British guy picked us up at 7.20 am at the See Through Hotel. We arrived at the diving school and we got our equipment and had to sign the usual paper work. We walked to the boat and headed off to Sail Rock. On the boat we got a free breakfast with some coffee, tea, bananas, some toast and thai breakfast. We arrived at Sail Rock and started our first snorkeling session which was already pretty cool, even though is a diving spot, there were a couple more of people snorkeling but the water was so so clear (15m easily) and we could perfectly see everything! the sport was great, a lot of coral and different fishes. They also gave us the choice of wearing a neoprene because of the plancton in the water (it gets easily itchy) and in case we saw jellyfishes, something that didn't happen. After we finished there was lunch on the boat with some curry and rice. You could also get some soft drinks with ice. After lunch we did our second snorkeling session and then we headed back to the diving school. We could go to the water whenever we wanted because we didn't need an instructor, so we were free, which was pretty nice.We paid and we were driven back to our hotel.
In conclusion, the day was awesome! We had a more than super good session and we were quite lucky that we chose The Dive Inn.Very organized trip and very nice instructors! We definitely can recommend everyone to go there! :-)

I did my PADI open water course in January and was most pleased with everything about the company. The staff were friendly and very professional at every level- from Wendy my initial contact, to the staff who maintained and readied the equipment (which is good quality).
Johnny, my instructor, was brilliant. A great personality, he guided our group with aplomb, and he is a real asset to the company.
Having scuba dived in many places since Thailand, I also have to add that Sail Rock- a place you're likely to visit- is superb; the abundance of fish is staggering.
Thank you for a great experience.

We are a party of 7 incl a 6 year old. Two are PADI DM certified. 2 are PADI Openwater but have not dived for 5 years. One of us dived sail rock twice before. We are considering a day trip 2 dive package for 2 to 4 divers. Those not diving may snorkel if Sail Rock is suitable for snorkeling?
Alternatively can you recommend another alternative! Is there any shore entry diving that is worthwhile? Planning on this event between 14 and 17 Aug. we will be staying at Coco Hut near Haad Rin. Thanks Alan Alan dot j dot louw at gmail

Hi Guys. We are a group of 4 who plan to visit Phangan on July 25th and 26th. We have 2 days on the island and would love to do our open water course. Would it be possible to complete it in 2 days?
Also, if we decide to do the DSD course. Can we choose dive sites? like sail rock etc?
Do let me know :)

Hi there,
I'm visiting from Australia and would like to know "approximately" what is the most promising month to see Whale Sharks?
I know this is a difficult question but I came stay with you for about a week..

Ko Pha-Ngan, Thailand2 contributions
Hi Paul,
That's a question we are asked fairly frequently..
To be honest, there's no real "season" for Whale Sharks in this region.
They tend to come and go as they please although there does seem to be a peak around the full moon week throughout the year.
This week we actually had what many long-term dive staff are regarding as a bit of a record, in which we had Whale Shark encounters for 8 days in a row at Sail Rock (in some cases there was 2 or even 3 individual sharks present at the same time!).
I've kept a fairly extensive photographic record over the years and i'm also the Ecocean Whale Shark project coordinator for Thailand, and the historical data does show encounters in the region have been recorded in every month of the year.
So, in conclusion... It's a bit of a lottery unfortunately due to not having a specific annual congregation period, meaning it's very difficult to say with any degree of confidence when they are most likely to appear. Although as i mentioned previously, there does appear to be a higher probability around the full moon week in any given month.
I hope that helps.
Best regards,
Alan Duncan
