When visiting the National Park, it is well worth the short but quite steep climb to the old lighthouse. It is impossible to miss and just follow the path from the beach. In wet weather, the path will be quite slippery and in dry weather, some of the stone path is quite loose. It’s worth taking time on the path as every few metres the view changes. It does get quite busy at times and one of the main problems is that some visitors are very impatient on the path!
The views from the lighthouse and beyond are really fantastic with steep cliffs down into the sea. There are some very interesting rock formations along the way but sadly there was a considerable amount of litter scattered around.
However, it is certainly worth the effort and make sure camera batteries are fully charged! I wouldn’t recommend wearing flip flops on the loose stone.
Park in the National Park car park and head towards the lighthouse.
There are toilets and a small shop by the car park and National Park staff are very helpful. Foreigners have to pay considerably more to enter the National Park ( 200 baht) than locals but that is the practice in Thailand.

I went to the National Park by scooter (first time on a scooter and the roads to the park were a bit challenging but doable). The path up the the lighthouse was short and not difficult. The view was lovely. There is a walking trail in the park and a stunning beach. Worth the trip

The light house views of the two beaches was incredible, I forgot my camera amazingly but still great to stand at the top and gaze down. The walks around the park are short but enjoyable, there is a small stall that sells soft drinks, fruit shakes and basic Thai dishes, they look and smelt good. The problem, like many places in Asia, Monkeys. Sorry to say these were terrible here. They know what they want and they don't care how they get it. I was chased along the grass out of nowhere for my can of pop. Sounds funny and cute but it really isn't. They are extremely aggressive and don't back down. You don't want to be bitten or scratched by these guys. One tried to open the zip on our rucksack and went through our stuff on the beach, this was happening to everyone at the beach at this time. Food related or not. We ended up leaving as again we were chased for trying to grab our stuff. Heading back to the bikes they were jumping and doing there business on peoples seats. Not enjoyable. Im sure its not like this all the time however it ruined our experience. Otherwise the place is beautiful, views are great and the beach is clean.

A neatly manicured lawn awaits you after your traipse down to this southernmost point of Koh Lanta; it is, however, the only item that is manicured since the lighthouse is falling to pieces and the ‘nature’ trail leaves a lot to be desired. It would appear that the relatively high entrance fee is only used to pay the numerous officials and parking attendants, since nothing else has been maintained to any standard.
Clouded by the forbidding sign warning that Portuguese man of war jellyfish inhabit the waters off the pretty beach and beset by tourist wise monkeys that steal anything unattended, this is still a very attractive part of the island and is far enough away from the worst of the tourist crowds to make it reasonably peaceful.
The jellyfish warning incorrectly specifies not to use vinegar as an emergency treatment and, worse still ......advises to wash the sting in seawater.
A worthwhile trip and point of interest at which to while away an hour if you happen to be in southern Koh Lanta but otherwise save your energy.
PS Top Tip
Keep a water bottle handy and spray the monkeys that come too close, they hate a shower.

The Lighthouse is situated at the southern most point of Koh Lanta Island in the Marine Park. A fee is payable to enter the park. It is a fairly long ride but the road has now been tarred and although quite steep in places the park is easily accessible but care needs to be taken if on a scooter. Take some refreshments such as water with as it is a good four to five hour trip with steep short walk up to the light house. There are some fairly steep cliffs at the back of the light house so care should be exercised not to venture to close to the edge. There are still the ruins of the old lighthouse visible adjacent to the current building. A worthwhile half day trip.

This lighthouse is located in the national park. You pay to get into the park AND pay to park. You walk up to the light house as part of the park. It has wonderful views from the lighthouse of the ocean and the bays below on both sides. We also saw the lighthouse from the water on a boat. Its looking old but I think still in service.

Renting motorbikes and driving there is the best part about going, the roads and the views just getting better and better the farther south you go on lanta, and the beaches is nicer to. You see alot wild life and plenty of picture opportunities. When you arrive at the park you have to pay a lot money to go inside, and well... Nothing special.

If you've rented a scooter, this place is worth a visit. Drive down on paved road all the way to the gate, pay the 200 baht fee, and park your bike. Go for a small climb to the lighthouse, take a few pics of the cliffs to your right, and settle down at the beach. At the far end there are trees to shade you from the hot sun. Mind the monkeys if you brought food with you.

first of all avoid going at noon time. it can be really hot and sunny.
go in the morning or late afternoon. enjoy the beach there and nice view point from the light house.
beware of monkey. pack your back properly and DO NOT carry plastic bag around. The monkey there can be aggressive and they will steal your bag of food. and DO NOT feed them,

Beside that! its beautiful place to chill and relax

If you are in Koh Lanta please visit this place - nice view and a very quiet beach front. Not many people around and well maintained
