Worst day trip we have been on in Thailand- they tell you only about 20 people are on the boat when you book- this is not true there was so many people jammed on our boat people had to squish together and there wasn’t even space for the staff they were standing back by the motors or sitting on the floor. Thankfully we were not stuck beside one of many travellers that happened to be sea sick In which they had to where to go and the staff just gave them a plastic bag to throw up in.
Once it was time to snorkel it’s mayhem getting that many people on and off the boat at each spot not to mention my mom came across a needle floating in the water mid snorkel.
Ko Rok is a beautiful island but with the amount of boats that pull up at the same time it really ruins the experience with the overload of tourists. Save your money or put it towards a private long tail.

Get crammed into a speed boat packed to the gills, to the point of people having to sit wherever they can find space. Once finally at the island, your 30 min snorkeling time is about 10 once they finally clear said boat. There’s also very little marine life anymore and a dozen other jam packed boats in the area. When you finally go for lunch, the island itself is so packed you can’t even sit down. And about 90% of the people are Chinese tourists who smoke wherever (there’s marked smoking areas) leave there trash lying around and use the self cleaning hose in the bathroom as a personal shower...

Save your time and Baht and go somewhere else. Koh Rok has been ruined.

Koh Rock & Koh Ha Island are beautiful for swimming & snorkelling & are worth a visit. White powdery sand beaches & clear turquoise waters. However we were promised a small speedboat but ended up on a large catamaran which seated approx 35 people. 70 people were squashed onto boat!!!! We were forced to sit on the front deck all day, No shelter from the sun. There was lots of pushing & shoving to get on @ off the boat for swimming. Crew were mean handing out water. Babies crying! People getting angry! Very little attention paid to Safety.
Beaches were crowded as 4 boats all turned up at the same time. It’s worth going but check out boats, number of people & safety before you go

This is a very beautiful place, but it is crazy with tourists during the day. We went on a snorkeling trip to Koh haa and Koh Rok and the water was beautiful, great vision but a lot of tourist.
Since there has been a lot of drownings due to the tourists that can't swim everyone on the beach has to wear a lifejacket!
We got the recommendation to go trough the trees since there was a place there were you can swim. Unfortunatelly we had to go then, so I do not know how it was there, but probably better than the crowded beach and the tourists in lifejackets floating around unable to move!

The trip was nice, Koh Rok was beautiful and the food was good. But one thing was defenately not right.
They never told anybody not to stand or touch the reef. They don't care about the environment, just about making money.
I saw people in my group touching the reef, standing on it, and when I told the guy from the tour later, and said to him that he should have warned everybody, he just shrugged his shoulders!!! He just didn't care. Terrible

Do yourself a favour, book a full day tour to Koh Rok and Koh Haa with Koh Jum Sea Hunter. These guys were outstanding! We were picked up from Ao Nang and driven an hour to the pier. We were given refreshments and then boarded the boat for the 1.5 hour trip to Koh Rok. These guys treated us really well and we never felt like we were cattle as many of the other tours from Ao Nang did (they even provided sea sickness tablets to those who wanted them). Our family of 4 (teenagers 15 & 17) went on 15th January and it was outstanding snorkelling. The most amazing coloured coral and fish. A quality buffet lunch was provided and bottled water was circulated regularly. The snorkelling to these two islands was the best of 4 places we visited from Ao Nang.

We booked this day tour with our family. We had a nice clean boat and the boat trip was comfortable and with a good boat. The island himself was good allthough the 4 island was the snorkeling better. Food was good and well organized on the island. Nice trip to do. I slightly liked the 4 island tour more. Leslie

We planned to go on a snorkeling trip called ”4 islands” but got the advice that a visit to this island would be much better and it was sooo true!
Clear blue water and plenty of fishes to see, white sand on the beach and great nature to watch. We even saw a kompdo lizard on the beach.

I would strongly recommend this trip over any other from Koh Lanta, we were not dissapointed!

Beautiful beaches and clean National park with clean toilet facilities,

The sand is easy on the fretboard nice to swim in the lifeguard protected areas, however neglect has claimed the nature trail as it is hazardous even the most agile of athletes. Loose tile, overgrown oaths lead you up up up to a totally blocked cure by overgrowth.

You are deposited at the end if the trail on beaches that are not kept clean.

If you stay in the main section of the park you will d joy your day,

Sand like flour and the water is crystal clear. We’ve been there for a one day snorkeling trip. Island is amazingly beautiful but crowded because of all tourists. Extremely wonderful island and great snorkeling.
